Actress Ueto Aya (24), who is known for her healthy image and her love for apples, got chosen as "The First Aomori Apple Queen" today. She attended the small ceremony event with a beautiful red coat and looked just as juicy as a big red apple.

Instead of some flashy award, she basically received a voucher for 365 apples from the sponsor "Aomori Ringo". It is supposed to provide her with apples for a whole year, but in case of Ueto it would probably not even last half a year. She is known for her love for apples and eats 2 to 3 apples a day. Her most joyful time to eat an apple is when she’s taking a nice relaxing bath in a bathtub.

"I’m very happy (to be an apple queen)! It’s like a dream-come-true." Further she said, "Apples are good for your health and your beauty. They even are great for diets. You should eat a lot of them!"

Fujisaki in Aomori is known for its very large and round, sweet and juicy apples known as "Fuji Apples". They are extremely popular among customers worldwide and of course Ueto loves them as well. "I want to have a love as sweet and pure as a Fuji apple." She said with a very bright smile. Regarding Valentine’s Day she commented, "I gave chocolate to my staff." Did she also give it to someone special? "I really would love to," she replied. Seems like she is still looking for her Fuji love.

Ueto Aya becomes a detective for new dorama

Another new dorama announcement for next season. Actress Ueto Aya (24) is going to star in her first detective role for Fuji TV's "Zettai Reido: Mikaiketsu Jiken Tokumei Sousa" (transl: Absolute Zero). Similar to the American series "Cold Case", it will have a team trying to solve or resolve cases that happened a long time ago. Japan actually just created a special department for cold cases in November last year.

Fuji TV about the new dorama, "The scale and reality will go beyond your typical Japanese police dorama and we hope that you will enjoy the feel of this new series." Further they added, "Ueto Aya is the perfect actress for the female detective experiencing personal growth while dealing with the difficult problems of cold cases that last over time and space."

Her role does have a strong sense of justice and never wants to give up with her investigations. She's a newbie, lacks skill and experience, but she is able to understand the pain of people like nobody else. "It's my first role as a detective and I will try my best to show you a nice side of me!," Ueto commented.

Veteran actor Kitaouji Kinya (67) will play her boss. The rest of her the team will be played by comedian Miyasako Hiroyuki (39), actor Sugimoto Tetta (44) and actress Yamaguchi Sayaka (30). Also appearing will be Maruyama Tomomi (34), Nakahara Takeo (58), Kitagawa Hiromi (29) and Kimura Ryo (21).

The dorama will start on April 13 and air every Tuesday at 9pm.
