^Yeah. You're really close. :twothumbs
You also have something else to look forward to the same time its unlocked. It might widen your options with character choice. I'll let you find that out yourself.

Can someone tell me, are FFXII and FFXIII good? I have 12(but haven't played it) and hear mixed things about 13.

Oh boy, that's a question. They are both very different from each other and incredibly divisive for a lot of people, even for FF fans. They both have their shining points and their flaws and I find that what's a good point in one is usally missing on the other. I could list them all for each here but really, the best advice I could give is to actually play them. What they both share however, if that they are different from the older games in the series so if you have been played something like FFVI or FFVII before, then don't expect the same here. But you have FFXII there, so definately play it. You may like it, might not. You might hate both of them, you could be fortunate and appreciate both for what they are. But I definately recommend playing both so you at least get a formed opinion of it for yourself rather listening to some naysayers who criticise the series regardless of what direction it takes.

Okay. Thanks, I got FFXII for free regardless so it wouldn't be a loss. I just wish PSN came with a demo for 13...

Totally agree with Tuffty.

A mix of FF12 (voice/script, macros, art style, and world exploration) and FF13 (paradigm shift, storyline placement, character development, HD) would've been my perfect FF game.

I feel FF12 was a try at mixing FF with MMO elements. It was a refreshing change for the series.
While FF13 went back to FF10's traditional battle style and added some smaller twists with battle mechanics. It isn't as revolutionary and bar-setting as the other console starter FFs (FF, FFIV, FFVII, FFX) but I think its still a solid and fun game.

Please, please that this mean what I hope it does:

Quote
At the 2008 gaming expo in Los Angeles, Square Enix dropped a bombshell: Final Fantasy XIII, previously believed to be a PS3 exclusive, was headed for the Xbox 360. Could the same be in store for Final Fantasy Versus XIII?

Final Fantasy Versus XIII designer Tetsuya Nomura has stated repeatedly that Versus XIII is a PS3 exclusive. Previously, it was revealed that Square Enix was "looking into" a multi-platform Final Fantasy Versus XIII release. Square Enix Yoichi Wada later tweeted, "What was said at the investors meeting was only that until the official announcement is made everything about all titles is pending."

Today, Square Enix posted a job listing for a Final Fantasy Versus XIII "Battle Planner". Listed in the job requirements are the following requirements: experience developing a 3D action game, knowledge and experience in both level and battle design and "development experience on a PS3, or Xbox 360 package title".

The inclusion of "or Xbox 360 package title" is leading to speculation online that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be a multi-platform title just like Final Fantasy XIII.

When Square Enix revealed that FFXIII would be released on the Xbox 360, the company stated that it would be a PS3 exclusive in Japan. The game will finally be released on the Xbox 360 in Japan this December.

Please, please, please, please.... :w00t:

Yeh I guess that would be a shame. Apparently, there's guys over at Eurogamer who really go into detail into what goes into a game and for FFXIII, the aspect that took up most space for 360 and PS3, wasn't the game, wasn't the FMV, but audio.

You never know though, I think there's been enough of an outcry for Japanese audio that SE may give it more considerate thought this time round, but then it could compromise other aspects. Oh I dunno. The English dub is perfectly fine to me. Only problem is that it tries so hard to be just like the Japanese dub. Japanese, as a language, is very onomatopoeic, you hear it all the time with exclamations like 'Ah!' and 'Ehh?', and while that's perfectly fine, whenever you try to closely follow that in English it just comes across as awkward and stilted (see Vanille as the perfect example). And it's a hard thing to do because if you try to apply the dub in such a way that better resembles the flow of the dialogue here in the Western world then you can make an impact on the integrity of what the original was meant to be, but if not then you get hated on for making it all sound like something that just doesn't translate well. The other problem is that all the exclamations and behaviours are all there in the animation, so the dubbing team naturally had to follow it as closely as possible.

I just fought the fal'Cie in the apex of the tower, and got 5 stars on the first go! Though it's probably because I had got all my characters main roles up to Lvl 4.

Oh god, please let it be true!
If they can make some extra cash with releasing it for both systems, why shouldn't they? XD
I generally think the time of games being exclusive for only one system is drawing to an end and I'm totally ok with that.

Btw are there sales numbers of how FFXIII split by console?
Would be interesting to know.

And on the language thing... what Tuffty said.
Fans will never be pleased, no matter what they do.
I thought FFXIII's dub was one of the best though it had it's awkward moments BECAUSE they had to implement those "ah's" and "eh's" somehow.
Maybe in the next generation M$ will use a medium that is big enough for more audio or they find a why to make alternative audio available via download.

I don't say anything about the english dub of FF XIII, no! I feel only awkward, when I'm listening and watching a dub, because I knew the japanese one! XD
It would be only better, if they would leave the in Versus the selectable of the JP language ;_;
Me as a JP Anime-Fan would very appreciate it...

haha XD I know I felt exactly the same way as you did! My advice would be to stick with each character's main roles, like how Lightning always was a COM/RAV/MED beforehand and Snow was a COM/RAV/SEN. The benefits you get from advancing along these roles are way more beneficial to you than if you go along their newly opened up roles, and they cost a lot less CP too. The roles each character has opened up give you only a small increase to your stats and for crazy amounts of CP. Once you've maxed out each character's main role, then you can do the other ones. And keep getting stronger! Though I don't know why I would, cause I would never choose Vanille as a COM or Hope as a SEN XD

Like I said Ayako, keep your strength up cause you'll encounter something where you will absolutely need to have some strong characters. I'd like to hear how you do cause I personally think it's a great sequence.

Haven't played FFVIII on my PSP for weeks now. Gonna set some time aside so I can get back into it. Just heading to Galbadia garden, but I think I'm lost XD

I was thinking the same way... To max out their main roles and do the others later! XD I think, I'll train a little bit before I get further in the story.... XD So I can get stronger.... If you say, there is a strong enemy waiting for me... *gulp* Well, I have now Light as COM, Snow as RAV and Vanille as MED.... Snow has the most highest HP of all six party members! XD And I mad Snow the leader.. 'cause I love Snow! <3

But Dysler was a strong enemy, if I can say this... I barely won the battle, really! O_O

Snow's a freaking tank. He's perfect as a Sentinel. I actually prefer him least as a Ravager because, even at Chapter 11, he only has ice and water spells, like he has some affinity to them cause of having Shiva as his summon. But that rule of logic doesn't apply to Lightning. She's a pretty awesome Ravager actually. But if you want a Commando, then Fang should be the de facto choice. A friend of mine said it best, she' s like Auron on steroids XD

I don't know if this is an indication of how you will find the upcoming battle, but I beat Dysler on my 2nd go, and without too much hassle, but I really struggled against this one. More so than any other boss in the game, more so since Seymour in FFX :o

I switch my party leaders quite frequently, if only for a change. Mainly it's playing as Lightning cause, you know, she's badass. And I prefer to let the computer be in control of characters like Sach, so they can handle the buff/debuff abilites for me.

This is gonna sound really weird, so bare with me. But the one thing I like doing, and always tend to do, is that when I'm about to open a treasure chest, I rotate the camera angle 180 degrees so I can see the character's face when doing it. Cause most characters, especially Lightning, look completely uninterested XD But it is true! You can wander around as someone in the field and they appear fine, approach a chest and their mood just darkens. Even Vanille!

Well, I have him as a RAV because I thought he could help me out, but I can change it later on, when I see that I'm in a pinch... :sweatdrop: Maybe I'll try Fang later on, thanks for the heads up! xD

Really? I beated him on my first go but as I said earlier, I barely won the battle... Luck was with me!

I've learned that Lightning can really be a badass in battles! xD And to be honest, I'M starting to like Lightning... but not that much like I'm spamming everywhere with Lightning fangirlism! XD I have SNow and HOpe for this Job.... *fangirl* *__*

Really?! Do they expect something really bad in the treasure chests or why do they look so?! XD
