I want to know, if the game triggers any kind of event if Laguna meets his son....

I imagine they'll meet but will never know the relationship between each other. They'll probably even talk with each other in one scene and Squall will probably make some reference to being an orphan and Laguna will just be totally unaware

FFIV is being remade and heading to the PSP:

A new version of SNES RPG classic Final Fantasy IV is heading to the PSP, incorporating recent WiiWare expansion The After Years as well as the 1991 original.

Andriasang reports that Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection will boast revamped visuals and a brand new chapter linking the original RPG with its latter-day spin-off.

There are no further details right now, other than a mooted Spring 2011 release date in Japan, but we're onto Square Enix for more information.

Even the most casual Final Fantasy fan should be fairly well-versed in Final Fantasy IV's charms, but The After Years is something of a curio. It started out life as a Japan-only mobile game before coming to Western shores in July 2009 on WiiWare.

It's set 17 years after the events of Final Fantasy IV and follows the adventures of Ceodore, the son of the original game's hero Cecil.

AWESOMELY EPIC! I so can't wait for this game <3 It's gonna be amazing.

Plus it's definitely gonna be an RPG-esque style story mode with shops and everything although no towns.

Squall's outfit is my favourite new one

Plus notice the battlefields? One's Orphan's Cradle from 13 whilst the other looks like a battleship from 12. But the battle music

You get the codes when you register the game at Square Enix' european site.
I registered back in July and had no idea you get something for it, until today I sorted out my old mails and found them!!!
Ps3 people had a higher chance of getting a FF14 beta key I think if they registered their game.
I'm so happy I have a 360 right now!!! 

Btw, Panini releases the FF13 Novel "Final Fantasy XIII: Episode Zero" in germany on Feb. 15th 2011!!! 
I don't know about other european countries, but there's always the english fan translation you can find on the internet.

Reports are coming in from Jump Festa that Yuna is the newest character added to the Dissidia Duodecim roster.

But in more solid facts, the Japanese release date will be 3rd March 2011. There's also a joint download and UMD release - with the download price slightly cheaper. I'm holding out for the special edition (which there has to be)

As another unconfirmed rumour, there's also talk of a new trailer for Versus XIII...

Some screenshots of (mostly) Laguna (and with English subtitles). I know it's expected, but even though they learned some life lessons in the previous game, it seems they've reverted the original cast back to their conflicted selves, as Squall questions why he needs friends. You've been through this already dude!
