I don't know what you guys think, but it appears to me that Quick Battles are a lot harder. I assume it's because my characters are starting off at Level 1 but even against enemies on the same level, I do pithy amounts of damage to them when they can deal more damage to me. Kinda have to break out of my mentality of breaking their bravery and then landing an HP attack and just land HP attacks when I can. The amount of XP I get at the end as well doesn't even make it seem worthwhile. Which is odd considering I've done some of the story stuff with Lightning and she's practically at Level 8 after about 30 mins. I dunno.

Tifa. She's a cool character to play as and the DLC outfit is cool. Squall's KH outfit is badass. Laguna's cool too though at this stage I only find one of his bravery attacks effective. He stays perfectly in character too in the story mode. Always getting lost

Yeah quick battle is harder. I tried out all the new characters except Vaan before playing it properly and didn't like Laguna as much yet. Tifa was difficult to use too. I love Lightning and Yuna though.

And Squall is still awesome. Great game though.

I've learned the best way to do Quick Battles now is the party mode. Sure it's longer as you have to take on 5 AI characters in a row, but any character you include in your party gets a cut of XP after each fight you win.

Ok here's an odd 'issue' with the game I've found. Dunno if anyone else encounters this but I imagine not. Lightning's EX Burst attack does not work for me. At least not in the traditional sense. Didn't really think much of it when it looked like I missed the commands a few times. Could have messed it up, or time ran out, no biggie. But then I got the prompt to press the circle button, and just the circle button for an attack, and it messed up. I knew things were wrong. So all the time looking at it I thought circle and X seem to be the only 2 buttons you use, what if it's my 1st generation PSP bought from Japan that's doing it? It does it for menus in other games when I have to press X to confirm rather than cancel. Tried it and it totally works. But, and here's the kicker, it only seems to apply to Lightning. Tried Cloud's hammering away at the circle button? Fine. Cecil's pressing directional and face button together? Also no problem. So now if I land an EX Burst with Lightning I have to counter intuitively hit the opposite button when prompted. It's no biggie, I just find it weird.

Anyone have any tips, in FFXIII, to deal with the flying monster that just needs to shoot out that one gob of goo at you and it effectively removes all your buffs and casts several other debuffs on you at the same time? Hate that thing.

I have the same problem with Lightning Tuffty and figured it was because my PSP is an import from Japan before they were even released in the UK

Seems I was right from what you've said. Plus Party battles are great fun

flying monster? There's a LOT in that game

But I just basically keep my buffer casting buffs whilst debuffing the enemy.

Dissidia's just sucked me right back in

Love the new characters, Kain is awesome. A lot of fun to play as and I think he has one of the coolest looking EX finishes.

It's one of the dragons, spits out goo which removes any buffs you do have and debuffs you at the same time and just as you're going to bring yourself back up, he decides to do 'Feeding Stoop' on you right as you still have DeProtect. Ugh.

There's also quite a few of those 'dragon-esque' creatures. One variety is very weak but some of the other ones are stupidly powerful.

Just stay in the air really with launch/non-magic skills.

Dissidia's awesome. Yuna's probably my favourite character to play as and I love her Ex Burst

Ok Quick Battles are still pretty tough, but now that I've built up on a few weapons/armor etc it's more manageable than it used to be. Vaan's actually a pretty cool character too (and I never thought I would say that), but Gabranth is an absolute machine! Get into EX Burst and just watch his bravery attacks go!

I found the best possible app for my phone, a FFVII soundboard. Not only can I play any song off the soundtrack but also some misc sounds in there as well like, the sound of Bolt 3 being cast or an angry chocobo. I've spent the last 15 mins messing around with it. J-E-N-O-V-A is my ringtone for now

Vaan is (as annoying as this is to admit) not that bad. Yuna still owns his ass.

And the quest mode; WOW! If I were to sit down for a few hours I know I'd have so much fun making an actual proper quest out of it. I seriously can't wait to be able to sit down with it and mess around with it more.

FYI, there is a free DLC costume for WoL now available on the PSN store. Just search for Duodecim to find it. And like I said, completely free.

Nope. It's definately on the EU Store, I've played with it equipped and everything. I imagine there will be more costumes and music tracks as future DLC to follow for both EU and US.
