Just saw the Utaban episode, and I agree with reyfer's comment. The girls were not pleased with being shunted aside.

That's sad for me to read. I love Nakai and Ishibashi, but someone needs to tell them to get with the program and all. Hopefully Morning Musume will have better appearances on that show in the future.

Indeed they were shunted after the initial jokes and questioning of the chinese members... no fun stuff... no major jokes... it was just ahhh who's that over there... its the ones we like talking to..... and then that was it.... >< I would be offended to...especially since they mostly stood there so that iida could say things to them... like whats up with that!

Morning Musume need to shine! by the dieties of goodness and light I do hope they are allowed to be more expressive on a show soon.

At least Onna ni Sachi Are was ok... they seemed to sing it lower than normal eh?

It seems to me that the 6th gen girls were REALLY bored..at least from the screencaps. o.O Takahashi and Risa seem fine though. At least they're somewhat responding, or so I think..

That is sad considering it's Ai and Risa's first single as Leader and Sub Leader. I wanted to see them get a lot of attention as what were considered the youngest at a point and become leaders to those around them so suddenly. :/

There are ok parts indeed, but I do wish they did more with Morning Musume ><
I suppose it was a bit to dream that I suppose... I wonder what they'd do if they couldn't have gotten the anniversary group to show up too... I mean they could have had them separately, but take it stride, at least they got to appear...

I did like how they were flowing before the anniversary group showed up... and if you count it seperately the OG part of the anniversary group was fun in its own right, but thinking that it was for Onna ni Sachi Are... I wanted more of them... folly of time I guess. To have to compress it all into one ball of stuff instead of letting them be their own entities.

I mean it, at least Taka should try to interact with them, some of them may surprise him, but if they're not given a chance, what can they do? I mean, this show could have been great from a comedic point of view: two new, foreign members plus the girl that usually was seen as "spaced out" as leader.... I can imagine thousands of comedic situations there.... but they bring the OG ( don't get me wrong, I love Maki and Kaori and Nacchi) and forget about the current group. Just take a look at Aichan's face during the little question game, it's almost like "why are we here?"

I missed something good.... time to get the whole thing! even though I have no idea who the other guests are... QFT! Taka-san and Nakai are the hosts of the show, it's their job to interact with their guests. If they're not trying and not giving the new lineup a chance, well OF COURSE they're going to think they're dull compared to the OGs.  See, with the OGs, they gave them a chance to come out of their shells, so to speak. Now they need to do so with the current lineup. 

On a related note, I LOVE the CGI effects that the Utaban production guys put in the show. In this ep, the killer was when Taka/Nakai opened the door and the wavy "IRRASHAIMASE~! " came out! Then they shut the door, only to have Aichan open it again and again go "IRRASHAIMASE! "

In fairness though, they've given Takahashi a lot of chances to be funny or interesting over the years (especially in the beginning) but she blows it every single time. I mean, I like her and think she's probably the prettiest girl that's been in MM, but she doesn't have the charsima needed for the talk shows.

And aren't there other members? And people cannot change? I'm sorry, I know what you mean, but they gave up last year and have not tried since. If they don't try, they will not know if something changed. And also they don't have to focus on one girl, there are 9 to choose from, and being comedians, they should realize the potential for laughter of the two gaikokujins. Come on, think about it: Taka, Nakai, and two girls with limited language knowledge..... see? I bet you got at least two skit ideas in your mind right now.

I liked their Utaban performance of the song, but I did not like the talk. What disappointed me is not the girls (they have the best attitude and really want to participate), but the hosts then focus the whole show on the OG. You can really see the expressions on some of the girls' faces, they were not happy. Man, on the previous show they had them playing a dumb drum game, and on this they have them just as "sidekicks". I find myself wishing they won't go to Utaban anymore.

totally agree with this. what a disappointment.
The show started so well with Linlin and Junjun selfpresenting themself and making some jokes but then the oldies came (i still like them) but well they are not MM anymore

Couldn't the girls just interrupt and speak up? Screw etiquette, if you want attention, demand it. I know thats how Makoto caught my attention when she did these types of shows. I think Yaguchi got where she is now hosting several shows just by being so vocal on her own. I love Ai (so much its even creeping me out) but like that other guy said, she and the rest blew it.

Anyways, Johnson was there and you know Ishibashi wouldn't pass up on the chance to tease her. Hell, you can see how fast he went from MM to poking her. Get him in a crowded room.. throw in Yasuda, Nakazawa, or  Kaori and you know where Ishibashi is going.

I´m a total OG fan but.... this was quite dissapointing. It´s ok to talk to Kaori, since she had some great news to talk about. But well, the "ne waratte" thing has been seen like ten thousand times on Utaban. Why waste time on remembering the same things as always instead of using that time talking with the current Momusu?

I felt pretty sad about them just looking to their faces.

Sad to hear about the talk bit.
At least the stage guys show sincerity by welcoming the pandas with some new year decorations. I'm sure they'd be happy seeing that stuff.

I was just meaning Takahashi. As far as the other members go you're right, I don't think they've been given enough chances, especially Eri, Michishige and Niigaki (who's probably the biggest loudmouth (I mean that in a good way ) in MM since Yaguchi. You don't have to try hard to make them entertaining but I think the hosts have just grown bored with MM in general and don't want to put in much effort. Shame really, because Utaban used to be where they made their best appearances.

There were some moments in utaban history where they've gone good with some of the generation they have now.... sorta... my memory is a little fuzzy but remember the days when they had the gameshow thing where ishibashi and johnson and mari were having to figure out what they were writing about.... and you got things like CD stands for Casette Demotape... and how Mochi looks like abunai... and boxes and what not?... I think thats rather funny...

They just need to cut all the lines and force ishibashi and nakai to make use of the musume now. I'm sure the musume could try harder I guess... I mean to be fair they could be more silly I suppose... to try to get attention.

Its a shame MM dived a bit... maybe they'll make a recovery after the Utaban and stuff like that!... maybe?... I hope...
