Sure the hosts probably didn't try to talk to them much in this episode, but I mean what can you expect? Gocchin (Taka's fav btw) was there, and then Johnson with her baby news, and Burriko Nacchi. It was a bad set-up to begin with. Everytime OG's are there, they automatically take more priority over the newer girls.

lol So I dunno why everyone is blaming Taka and Nakai for not interacting. If the girls want to be heard from, then they'll do what they have to in order to get their screen time. Even if that means violating/disrespeckin' an OG (Kago punching Gooch in the crotch comes to mind. Rude, but extremely LOL.) I mean, there were plenty of times in the past where the hosts did reach out to these girls, maybe by teasing them or whatnot, in an attempt to get something funny out of them, but the girls didn't know what to do with it. Maybe after all of that trying and being funny on their part, they just gave up since it was rarely being reciprocated. So it's the girls responsibility now to make the hosts, and the public like them, and wish to interact with them. You aren't always going to be given a chance, and so you have to make one for yourself. I really just think that the current line-up doesn't want it enough.

Fair enough. Then do this: go there, perform your song, say "please buy our cd" and leave. You did your publicity thing, and you spare the hosts and the public an embarrassing moment. I still don't see the point of having them around if Taka and Nakai are going to talk about someone else.

lol they're there because they're the ones with a song to perform. UFA or some other asshat just thought it was wise to piggyback Kinentai with them. Idk why they can't just have them go on Utaban on their own when their single finally drops. It wasn't all negatives though, if it's worth anything, atleast the new girls got some guidance from Kaori.

I kinda think the reason none of the girls know what to do when they get tossed a bone by either Taka or Nakai because they aren't used to it. Looking at older episodes, every time, even after fifth and sixth gen joined, it was still all about Kei or Johnson or sometimes Nacchi. Most of the girls in the group right now probably grew used to just sitting back and letting Taka and Nakai take their shots at the OGs...but since they don't have any OGs anymore, that doesn't work out.

Present Utaban had lost some of its attraction (Games, CG, new ideas). To me, they're just bringing back old stuff again and again, the same episode every year. Egao Yes Nude episode was the worst and now this episode is even worse. Ain't there anymore music talk show in Japan to boost up the competition? $:-\$

I agree with everyone who said Utaban was disappointing. The pandas were cute for their intro at the beginning, but other than that, the current lineup didn't get a chance. Why did some dumbass decide to put the OGs in MM's ep instead of giving them their own when the Kinentai single was released? I felt bad seeing the current girls just sitting there useless. I don't blame the hosts but whoever decided to put them in the same ep

It sucks that they've fallen behind Otsuka. I love Aichin, but Onna is a much better song than Peach, imo.

^^ Well I can actually say Onna ni Sachi has finally grown on me, hearing the radio rip the first couple times I was like, eh, but now I think I can get into it. Glad to see if anyone is beating MM it's Ai-chin, she's my fav j-soloist out there, and you are right about peach, although I think her B side Heart shoulda been the A side as it's that much better than peach.

And about the Utaban episode, although it's definitely not as good as the old MM utaban's, I didn't think it was too bad, despite the fact that the current gen didn't get much shine. I think they could've done something way better than going through old utaban clips mainly Johnson ones, but I didn't see the current lineup as depressed about it as you all are saying.

I'm rooting for Onna ni Sachi Are single for the #1 weekly spot. nothing against Otsuka Ai, she is definitely cute and a great artist, but i just don't feel peach that much. but even so, with Peach at #1, looks like Onna will most likely get the #2 spot. still continuing on their top 10, top 5 streak.

about the Utaban, it's dissapointing for the current line up, for sure. the main point is to promote the new single, but they didn't even really had the chance to do so. it's more like a promotion for the MM 10th's 2nd single than the current MM. and Koharu and Niigaki didn't even had a chance to talk even when they're apart to the subgroup too. someone could've planned it better. i wanna know more about the current lineup and the new members than i do of the OG. not that i don't like them, it just they should've had their own appearances. I feel sorry for the girls. they seem so bored and neglected. i wish i could've been there to comfort them. hopefully their appearance on other shows will make it better.

The Utaban episode, from the parts that I've seen, is pretty disappointing. I understand that OG has a lot of fun memories with that show, and I know that Kaori's pregnancy is big news, but I don't think they should've devoted 3 minutes of clips to old MM moments from the show. I've seen them before. I want to see the new MM line-up do those kind of funny things and not just be pushed to the side.

I don't have anything against the Maki, Nacchi, and Kaori, it's just they shouldn't have been scheduled at the same time as the current MM, because all attention was on them once they came in. It even seemed like Nacchi was trying to direct some attention to the current MM-- Risa and Koharu, at least-- when she was saying they were in the 10th anniversary group too, but the hosts seemed to pretty much brush that off.

And I honestly think the current girls were holding their own when they were given the attention. Ai's head popping through the door at the beginning made me totally burst out laughing, and the conversations they had with Junjun and Linlin were fantastic.

They use it as "Older Generations" but in Japan OG (old girl) is a term used to refer to female alumni from a university, graduate female students. For males they use OB (old boy). Last year Yuko said on a show that they use it as "Older Generations" because she doesn't like to be called old girl
