A japanese friend sent me this, saying Oricon is great to know how many CDs are sold, but that a song's popularity is seen in different ways. This is from TV Hokkaido, a show called PLAY DJ aired yesterday. Even if for Oricon this single is now at #36, in Hokkaido is #4 http://www.sendspace.com/file/qt63j2 As I said, this ranking is from yesterday.

And he also says that on some radio stations the song is listed as #3 on their rankings, while other stations have it at #5.

Makes a lot of sense, seeing how CD sales are so easy to be unreliable somewhat nowadays.

People sometimes download off Itunes (paying) or just download via anything

Yep, I guess Oricon, as my friend says, is great for CD sales, but to base a song's popularity on its Oricon chart standings.... See, TV Hokkaido's PLAY DJ has it at #4, SPACE SHOWER TV's "SUPER HITS 50" chart for today has it at #9 http://www.spaceshowertv.com/chart/super.html BARKS has it at #17 on its chart http://www.barks.jp/ And as mentioned before, some radio stations still have it in the Top 5. Oricon has it at #36 (it was #40, went up 4 places).

Don't get me wrong, Oricon is still a great indicator, but we should not feel down if the songs we like fall on Oricon's charts. Maybe they're doing better on other listings.

I agree, but as I said on both the previous posts I made, Oricon is a great indicator, but a song may be more popular than Oricon's chart placement may suggest, that's all. Some of the best and most remembered songs in western music never made it to Billboard's #1. Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" only got #9 on US charts. Just an example

well back a while ago in this post, i had posted about "Onna ni Sachi Are" Limited Edition Version B, being sold out on CD Japan, but now, it's available again. So i wanted to know if anyone who brought it or brought something that is "Special Packaging", can i buy other stuff that doesn't have "Special Packaging" on the same order???

In today's Oricon, they have moved up to 31 spot from 40-36-33-31. They'll probably make the 1st place in 2 weeks

I loved music fighter's performance, they had some great camera work, we saw several takes that weren't on other performances, that's what I exactly like. I just hoped it was as long as the haromoni one, 3 minutes is the perfect time for onna ni sachi are.
