Must be some extreme form of censorship.  Dear Leader doesn't want Korean people to have brain tumor.

Things like this just make me wonder why the rest of the world isn't doing anything about N. Korea?

Because they have a nuke?

I think the problem is that they tried to do something about it, and that's why we're where we are. The Korean War just proved too difficult to conclude, hence the armistice and technically the North and South are still at war.

Because the reaction was so positive when the rest of the world tried to do anything about Iraq, or Vietnam, or Somalia, or Kosovo?

I have wondered why is it so difficult for North Koreans to overthrow the government by themselves. People's live is so shitty that promising anything to better it would gain support. Is there not enough power-hungry colonels to make a coup? Other countries have revolted for much smaller things.

because there is nothing to earn?
actually the situation is quite complex since Japan and S Korea depends of US Military defense... and nobody knows exactly what weapons they have.

they have only governmental TV & radio, no internet... they think we are evil, and economic sanctions doesn't help.
Military peoples are all with Kim Jong-il.

I remember this documentary I saw on TV about N Korea concentration camps ... it was disgusting.

Well they're doing something, food support and stuff. Having nukes or not, taking North Korea by force would be easy. However, South Korean capital of Seoul is in the range of North Korean conventional weapons thus making the city a hostage of some sort. China wouldn't like it either.

CTZ has the right point. With Seoul with in range of practially every arsinal N. Korea has, taking it would be child's play for US, but the consequence would massive casualties and calateral damage. Plus there's a lot of uncertainty as to wether Kim is mental enough to launch a nuke just to spite S. Korea if we invade. Its really a no-win situation. Our only hope is he dies soon or gets ousted by someone with brains.

North Korea is so strict!! Banning cell phones... :( I agree wtih Jabronisaur that if only Kim disappears, North Korea will be free. The military has too much control. What's the point of having so many arms and leading a sad life? Even though you'll be more secure, you have less freedom. :(

China wouldn't like it either.

I had a dog and his name was BINGO!

I think that's the main reason and the fact that US resources are SO stretched at the moment.

No guns.

Anyways, the solution to this mess has always been around: end foreign aid to the losers. Right now the food South Korea and the rest of the free world hands out gets shunted to Kim's army anyways, so it's not like the average peasant would suffer any more than he already does. Just starve the bastards till they say uncle.

I meant the army, not the peasants.
