But Tuffty, I ~love~ trailers!!

HOLY SHIT MOTHERFUCKING LARA CROFT OH MY GOD THAT TOMB RAIDER OMG ALL MY FEELS WHAT??
I will LOVE watching this on youtube. I hope the controls aren't clumsy and the game glitchy, to anyone who will play it :D

Dishonored also looks kind of interesting, but I hope there's some interesting reason for slashing people because the trailer looks a lot like "yay let's just slash ppl isn't this blood awesome (feat. stereotypical creepy kid singing)".

Metal Gear Rising just looks silly.

Haha, omg. I watche that Injustice trailer last night and wtf. It's literally nothing but punching and I thought Batman was wearing a corset for a minute. At least Wonder Woman looks badass? But idk, the game as a whole just seems like "YEAH, LET'S FUCK SHIT UP. BONUS POINTS FOR GOOD GRAPHICS." and that's about it.

And yeah, I definitely want to see what Nintendo has in store, especially with the Wii U coming out (even though I'm not too excited about that console just yet).

^ Rumour has it that Nintendo plan to show off something new with Star Fox, F-Zero and Super Smash Bros. Whether they're for the 3DS or Wii U is unknown, or whether it's true at all. But a HD Star Fox sounds cool!

Injustice just looks weird. It's from the same team behind Mortal Kombat but I'm pretty sure you won't get fatalities. I just found it odd that Batman kicked Solomon Grundy so hard he went through like 6 different buildings

Guardians of Middle Earth - Wtf? They are turning the lore into some mindless pointless battling? Generic standard fighting game?? What is this joke?? None of that makes ANY FUCKING SENSE!! Wtf?? WTF??

...

Seriously this is despicable.

The Last of Us - saw a trailer of this before and liked it, still like it, am intrigued, etc.

I turned away from the LOTR trailer once I saw the jumping into mid-air slow mo sword slashing. No thanks.

Course it wouldn't be E3 without some awkward/hilariously awkward moments during presentations. Wonder if anything will be worth adding to the following list

*EDIT*

And in the first bit of pre-E3 info, the Wii U controller has got the official design set out.

We'll know more about Nintendo on Tues morning. Tomorrow is going to be intense with press conferences.

Microsoft - 9:30 AM PST (livestream)

Electronic Arts - 1:00 PM PST (livestream)

Ubisoft - 3:00 PM PST ()

Sony - 6:00 PM PST (livestream)

Who's up for an E3 IRC viewing party tomorrow?

Microsoft press conference was just over. Aside from a few cases, mainly RE6, the Microsoft press conference was not only disappointing, but pretty fucking boring. All this cross media BS too. If I can't access spankwire through my TV, through IE, through Xbox, through my phone, then I ain't interested. The best part was having Trey Parker and Matt Stone coming out and immedately making fun of it. And then Usher came out and started dancing....

So yeh, pretty disappointing. Here's hoping for some good stuff from the later press conferences.

Yea there wasn't much of interest, quite boring really. The best looking game was Halo (I had to check out the gameplay afterwards since I missed it live). Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider and Resident Evil 6 all looked the same. Crazy shit happens you run away, QTE, barely survive, shoot some people, rinse repeat.

The best part was South Park where they made fun of all the integration Microsoft just pushed for half an hour and they said they wanted it to be like Paper Mario. XD

Yeah that was really boring!!

I've been really excited about Tomb Raider so far, but I'm getting uncertain now. It seems that she's constantly getting bashed around, hurt, etc. and I'm sorry but if that happens all the time it'll get very old and torture porny. I thought there'd be just a few special scenes where she'd get injuries that kind of affect how she moves in the rest of the game etc. But this is just ridoinkilous. Constant hits, constant life threatening situations - yeah yeah I know that's what a game like this is about, but there should be some pacing ya know?? It should be even just a little bit realistic? I'll still probably check it out on youtube but I fear that the feminist side of me will be cringing before it's over

I thought we'd get this strong female heroine, but... It's starting to look bad, because torture porn =/= strong female character...

I'm just at unease about the whole Tomb Raider thing, like it is on the verge of torture porn as you're watching Lara getting constantly beaten, bruised, bloodied and literally impaled with sharp objects and screaming in pain. They've even taken the time to have camera angles zoom in on her face as she's reeling from the pain during or afterwards. It doesn't make for great viewing in my eyes. The game itself looks ok. Maybe it's the old school fan in me, but I would have preferred more platforming and puzzle solving in a giant tomb like in the old games. But I guess that's not cool now anymore.

*EDIT*

Nothing really special to say about EA's conference. Dead Space 3 is getting further away from survival horror with co-op gaming, universal ammo and human enemies to shoot at. No other surprises to speak of.

But Ubisoft? They haven't just won the battle of press conferences, they straight up killed it. Far Cry 3 was more interesting than I thought with it's psychadelic twist at the end. Rayman for the Wii U was charming. Assassins Creed 3 was spectacular, good golly I want it right now.

But the biggest surprise, and perhaps what sealed the deal was the announcement of a brand new IP, Watch Dogs. Only way I can describe it now is like GTA meets Deus Ex. It's a game that allows you to use the technology around you to your advantage like the guy was able to block communications on mobile phones to get past guards. You guys just have to see it for yourselves, it not only has some really cool looking concepts but it's algo graphically stunning to look at. Game of show so far, and I think it's why Ubisoft have won. It was all about games, really good looking games, not about cross media BS. And the surprise reveal of Watch Dogs will be something that gamers like myself would have wanted out of this E3. A new IP that isn't a sequel or a military FPS for once.

Sick ! Watch Dogs! its like GTA + Deus Ex x Heavy Rain

qr code in the demo (robot guy with the box on his head serving drinks) brings you to
http://dotconnexion.ubi.com/

Injustice: the mk series was brought back to life with mk9. It looks like mk9 but with dc characters, which isn't bad at all. I'm pretty sure its gonna have a really good story mode, because mk9's story was one of the best single player storylines in fighting game history.

Metal Gear Rising: i'm happy to see this game coming out. it's too bad it's not using the original engine.

Tomb Raider: i was never a tomb raider fan, but it looks pretty sick.

Sleeping Dogs: another game i'm happy to see come out. I really liked the original True Crime. Its just now seeing the Watch Dogs Demo above, i sleeping dogs looks sooooo 5 years ago.

The Last of us: very interesting game, but it seems like all they've shown are cut scenes?
edit: there's gameplay video! Naughty Dog does it again!

Beyond - Two Souls: nice, new quantum dream game! heavy rain with more action! Ellen Page is now on 2 blockbuster games =D

PIKA'S GIANT POST OF HATE

Well not really, I'm probably too lazy, plus a lot of stuff was really too bland to actually HATE, well, some things XD

The Nintendo pre-E3 stream I missed, but I aint even mad that the classic controller looks a lot like like the 360 one, it's what a lot people have been complaining about, how Wii didn't have a REAL controller (it did, but, never mind) and DURR HOW CAN I PLAY COD ON THIS well, there you go, there's your controller, shut up. Plus it's not like modern controllers haven't been copying old Nintendo and Sega controllers right? how many gamepads are there with Super Famicom button colors? oh of course they switch them around a bit so it's not a copy, of course. Turnabout is fair play!

Microsoft - mostly a failure

I was joking around in IRC before this saying "imagine if it was worse than last years, that can't be true, right?" HAHA oh dear. If anyone really needed some kind of new hardware, it was probably Microsoft, since their console is really showing it's age, well instead we get "Smartglass" which is Microsoft's panicked reaction to last year's reveal of the WiiU, it works mostly in the same way, but I'd really be surprised if it's going to work on apple devices, at least for free anyway, considering they're business rivals, But I did notice some lag.
Also the other big announcement was INTERNET EXPLORER ON 360 wow. They also showed how you could use it on your new SMARTGLASS TABLET, you know, that thing that can browse the internet already, and already has IE or Safari on it already..woop.

When the South Park creators came out and insulted it, it was the best part of the entire conferance, haha.

Last year, Microsoft was Kinect this, Kinect that, and it was totally underwhelming and boring, this year they fixed that by barely showing their wonderous device at all, in fact the only kinect related stuff was all voice commands, making it esssentially a glorified expensive microphone, which the 360 ALREADY HAD FOR FREE BEFORE THE KINECT EVEN CAME OUT.
They did "show" one Kinect motion game, Dance Central 6, by having no-one play it and have Usher come out and do a uncomfortable performance, while the game played in the background.

The actual good stuff of the conferance was mostly 3rd party stuff that'll be on PS3/PC too anyway, plus that surprisingly good looking South Park game. halo 4 had very nice graphics, but it was quite a dull game to watch, same goes for COD, despite all the interest people had.

Ubisoft - success

The thing started out with a dance game, and yet another uncomfy performance from Flo-rida, pretty much the same presentation as the Microsoft one, and then the 2 weirdest hosts ever made the whole presentation really uncomfortable and awkward.

But! in saying that, Ubisoft had some really great games, I didn't really care much for the shooting games, but you can't deny they looked good for the fans who like those games. ACIII looked really good, and Watch Dogs looked really really fun, I was surpised at how open worlded it is, looks like a very fun version of GTA mixed with Deus EX or Syndicate or something, very cool :D

The wiiU games looked really good (apart from the usual launch shovelware that Ubisoft always brings out, lol) even there seemed to be a lot of British people dying during this XD

The e-sports thing looked kind of bad, like some kind of Quake 3 mod, haha. The presentation was ridiculous too, aparently all girl gamers must wear tiny hot pants and tight shirts to play games.

Sony - moderate success

I think Sony really wasted a big oppertunity here, Vita is not selling well, just like the 3DS in the beginning, before Nintendo's exciting presentation last year that got everyone interested in it, with lots of amazing new games. Sony did not do this at all, they did show one big game, an original version of ACIII which does look cool and comes with a white Vita, but apart from that? just games with 'crossplay' with existing PS3 games, or already announced games. Such a waste.

Beyond and Last of US look fantastic, and were the big highlights of Sony's show, along with some 3rd party stuff that Ubisoft and Microsoft showed earlier.

Playstation All-Stars? pfft. They're not even hiding the fact that it's a Smash Bros. clone anymore, the graphics aren't ~bad~ but it all just looks bland, brown, uninteresting... even the logo is similar to Super Mario All-Stars. Not only that, did we get exciting new stages? no. tons of exciting new characters? no.... they announced 2 new characters, and demo'd the same game they've been showing for months, in a really boring demo.

God of War looked cool, but was also a bit dull to sit and watch, but most games of it's type are like that.

They really aren't hiding the fact that Playstation All Stars is a knock off. In fact, they even tagged their trailer with 'SSBB' and 'Super Smash Bros'.

And dude you totally forgot the E3 press conference! I remember when you got all excited by the Nike marketing pitch!!

about 5 times, hahaha.

when he was really saying

"DON'T BUY A WIIU >:|"
