Kurara Chibana (Miss Japan 2006) or Riyo Mori (Miss Japan 2007)?

Well, it's the talk of the town... Japan won this year's Miss Universe pageant.

But...there seems to be quite a number of controversies resulted from this winning...

Some Japanese articles have mentioned about Kurara Chibana (Miss Japan 2006)'s status in Japan being threatened by Riyo Mori (Miss Japan 2007).

Some prefer Kurara to Riyo because the former has more charm, elegance and (quite obviously) beauty. (Check Japan Today's website: http://www.japantoday.com/jp/popvox/737).

If your opinion is being asked as to whom do you prefer, which Miss Japan will you pick? And why?

First of all, what Chibana status are we talking about? She WAS Miss Japan, she's not Miss Japan anymore, is that the status threatened? By the NEW Miss Japan, and Miss Universe for that matter?

The status referred to is of Kurara Chibana's career opportunities and exposure as a Miss Universe 1st Runner-up... Since Riyo Mori won Miss Universe, companies would definitely go for Miss Universe when looking for product spokespersons in the future.

Moreover, I did a check in 2ch.net forums on similar topics. Kurara Chibana is obviously preferred by Japanese more than Riyo Mori...

Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

I hope Kurara Chibana...will withstand the harsh whips of Japanese critics...

I like both hehe. In this case, I would choose Riyo Mori for her bubbly fun personality.  They are both beautiful in my book though.

That very last picture made me want to go with Kurara. But as I look back at the other ones..I'm not sure.
