Sandisk Sansa e200 Series Problems
« on: July 23, 2007, 10:16:05 PM »
i had brought this mp3 player for about three months now, and i have a lot of problems since i've brought it.

first thing, when i first brought it and plug it in my computer i didnt know that the Music Folder were a Hidden Folder.
second, the player keeps on freezing all of a sudden and have to hold the power button for 15 seconds or so.
finally problems, now, the player turned off all of a sudden and i can't turn it back on, and when i plugged it back on the computer, it turned on. And no, my battery isn't dead, even if it's dead, it will show a message, but mines won't even turn on. And then it happened again, but this time i wasn't at home, so i had to ask my teacher for those jewelry screw drivers and take out the battery and put it back on, and this time the battery was fully charged.

anyone have these problems and would know how to solve it.

^ You could simply have a bad one, check with the shop.

It does sound like you have a loose connection somewhere (maybe it was the battery and its now fixed by removing/replacing it)

yea, but the first time that happened, i tried to plug it into my computer usb port and it turned on, so i guess its not the battery thats the problem.

It still might, it might have turned on because it received power from the USB port.

Impossible, because once i disconnect it from the computer, it restart and refreshed the data in it, and it can stay on.

Why don't you just take the receipt that you kept from when you purchased it, go back to the store that you purchased it from, and see if they'll replace it for you? Tell them that it keeps freezing on you and all the other problems it's been giving you. You never know, they might be willing to give you a new one in exchange.

well, the problem is, the player has been three months old, and if anyone of you guys heard of Circuit City, i think you can't exchange it after 14 days, but i do still have the receipt. Also, the player got some, not much, just like 1o dust, (little dots) inside the screen.

also, if you do have one JFC, or know much about it, for the videos, if i just move it from the player to my computer, and if i do get a new one, can i just drag those files back to the player without using the program???

Only 14 days? That's pretty weak. You should try talking to them about it anyway.  They themselves might not be able to do anything for you directly, but someone there might be able to tell you where you CAN go to get something done about it.  You won't know for sure unless you try.

I don't have an mp3 player myself, and most of the people that I know don't have Sansas, or they used to have them, but exchanged/got rid of them because they broke down and/or had a lot of problems like the ones that you've been having. But as far as your particular question, sorry, can't help you there.

correct Shrikatetsu, thats the one that maki advertised, but instead mines is the one in US.

and also JFC, im guessing all of the Sansa's in the world have similar problems like mines and maybe i can send it back to the manufacture and ask them for a new one, but then i would have to waste more money on the shipping and handling process and would have to wait for quite a while too.

That's possible, but as you said, you're just guessing. Unless you actually go and ask, you won't know for sure.

It's really possible because i have heard bad remarks against this mp3 player since i wanted to buy it, but then, as i read the reviews online like circuit city or best buy, they have all the goods listed, well of course, they do want to have business, so they will make it sounds as good as it can be.

But then, this mp3 is the 3rd time i exchanged for it at the store i originally brought it from, and that guy did said this is the last time i can exchange it, because the first one was okay, but i thought it was "broken" because when i plug it in my computer, i don't know how to add music files because i couldn't find the "Music Folder", but it was actually a hidden folder.

So once i got that exchanged, the second one was okay, but the power button was the problem. When you press on it, like turning it on and off, you can hear the spring inside making a springy noise, was might be that the button is lose.

And this third one, nothing was wrong but except for these technical problems, which im guessing the previous two will have the same problems too.

This is your 3rd one? You never mentioned that before. I thought it was still just the first one.  :O  When you factor this into it, sorry to say it but it sounds like you're gonna be out of luck on this one dude. :(

Not having one but knowing a bit about current button constructions, I think what you did hear was the microswitch clicking when pressed, which would be very normal.

Lucky me, I am happy to say I have not much dealings with customers on that level
I would have said something along the lines of RTFM!

why do i have to read the manual???

well i opened the mp3 player today, and i see that the power button have a metal which touches the power micro thing there, so im guessing the sound is from the cover, not the micro switch.
