For those who are going to the Bangkok con, they just posted some rules on the official blog;

- Penlights and balloons are allowed in the stadium. [I assume they mean non-gas balloons.]
- Banners are only allowed outside the stadium. You can show them around, but not hang them.
- Light boards, cameras and video recorders are not allowed inside the stadium. [From what I heard, they will take away your memory cards.]
- No flamable objects, sharp objects, any possible weapons allowed.
- No cans, glasses, pets, drugs, alcohol, folded chairs allows. [lolz.]
- No food allowed.
- bottled water is okay, but it has to be opened before getting inside.

Well mm do what i always do.

Keep a spare memory card in your pocket and let them take away the one inside the camera or video cam.

But I'm sure I can hide my G9 easily, if they gotta check bags on entry they won't be checking EVERY single compartment cause it'd take hours :p

Well thats my plan. Theyll be busy checking my bag when my small camera is hidden safely by my schlong. Foolproof tactics imo.

not if they have metal detectors and there's a detectable metal on your camera.

If they only take memory cards and not cameras, the decoy trick would probably work. You could buy some cheap card for less than 10 bucks. But if it's that tiny maybe ebc could hide it in his bag, so then you could actually have other people touch your camera if you want some pics of yourself.

And lots of venues don't let people bring in outside food because they want you to spend twice as much on the food they sell inside. Lots of their revenues come from that.

I think you two will have it easier than us coz you're foreigners. They wouldn't want to mess with you much.

I don't know if they will take cameras too or not, I mostly heard about memory cards. But I did hear about cameras getting lost once (maybe with those huge cameras).
