Can anyone explain the difference between those 2? Which one has better quality? Both appear to have the same resolution to me, so it should boil down to some codification or something.

It's just too large to risk downloading the wrong one >.<

The file extension? One is tp and the other ts. Don't know the difference, sorry.

The ts has had the ads cut, it also seems to play back more smoothly and let you seek through the file easily. I found the tp to still have ads and also have a stuttering problem. Not sure why.
I might do an mp4 re-encode some time and upload it.

according to google, TP is transport packet, TS is transport stream. I don't exactly know what it means but true TP file usually include the broadcaster info and the actual date/time of the broadcast/telecast.

from the tons of TP/TS I downloaded, only TP is able to have the max bitrate of ATSC@19.394Mbps. all else being equal, it is generally consider to be best. one can take the total filesize and divide it by the time in sec to get the bitrate.
in this case, 13,937,146,880 bytes / (1:35:49 = 5749 sec) x 8 (to convert byte to bit) = 19.394Mbps

Looks like the one I downloaded from SSF also suffered from bad sound issue, should be MBC's problem.
anyway, I've transcoded the video to 720p for my SONE forum last night, thus the password.
