Scientifically and mathematically, the American way to measure things is kinda retarded(you'll realize this the more you have to measure things

), but when you grew up using a certain system and don't really need to make calculations of them, it really doesn't matter since it's already stuck in your brain what certain measurements are like and you compare them relative to what you know.
Take for example me, I'm pro-metric, but growing up in America I make general guesses in the English system because that's what's stuck in my head. But I'm gradually getting more accustomed to metric the more I use it.
