On the same date, there are releases by KAT-TUN, EXILE, TOKIO, LOVE (Otsuka Ai) and a new らき☆すた (Lucky Star) single.

Well, I know they can beat Lucky Star and TOKIO, and Otsuka Ai does not sell well as LOVE, so that leaves EXILE and KAT-TUN. Seriously, it will be almost impossible to beat KAT-TUN, so I go for #2. I just hope they can keep their "Top 5" record.

I know I have said this before but Mikan is AMAZING! It really feels like a Morning Musume song to me. The past singles were really awesome but it didn't feel like Musume to me. I like when they all sing together and really express their emotions vocally. I get a happy feeling whenever I listen to Mikan and I love that!

I knew Jun and Lin wouldn't get a big part because after all it is only their 2nd single so it probably be a while till we hear them as actual leads. I am so excited to see the PV and covers

^it does have a kind of anime theme song vibe to it here and there, but that's no prob for me.

I swear I will never understand why people use the words "anime song" as something negative. Some of the biggest names in japanese music have made anime songs (L'Arc~en~Ciel, Utada, Nanase Aikawa, etc...). Some of the greatest names in japanese music ASK for the chance to make songs for popular animes. I guess the difference is that in Japan anime is not seen as something only for kids.

I didn't say "I don't like this song BECAUSE it sounds like an anime opening theme song". I said I don't like the song, and remarked how it sounded like a typical anime opening theme song. Even though I don't like this song, some of my favorite songs are used as the opening themes to animes.

Sorry, it is just that sometimes we see the term "anime song" used as equal to "childish" or "not good". And some before in this thread and in some other forums have made that comparison.

Theme songs are picked because they're the creme of the crop. The people behind a drama or anime want you to think of their show everytime you hear that song. I can't listen to FLOW without thinking of Naruto, or hear "Can you keep a secret?" from Utada Hikaru without thinking instantly of Hero, so I guess the marketing worked.

A full list was posted here few days ago. It'll be a tough day.

I don't want to discourage the hopes of many but the last three singles (all this year) of EXILE have sold between 84 and 95K on first week. So a #2 is high unlikely. TOKIO sells on first week as much as MoMusu has been doing lately. So the battle will probably be for #3, unless I miss some other big name that could beat MoMusu as well.

Mikan is not appealing to me at all. Not even after listening the radio rip. This could change within the weeks, however. After a year I finally appreciate Aruiteru

mmm the single is... don´t know is not like the last 3 who just hit me at the first try ^^. Well the competition is big but i guess that a top 5 at first week with peaks of 2 one of the days can be possible.

I couldn't say much with concert recordings but with the radio rip, it does sound like anime music in the beginning. Or some type of theme music. I like how it's upbeat, great for dancing in concerts. I'm not so sure about it being good to just listen to. It sounds more like a participation or visual song.
