a) parents aren't around for their kids because their too busy working
b) parents are hippies and don't believe in disciplining their kids
c) parents are deadbeats who don't give a shit about their kids

it's kind of scary to hear about what's happening with Japan's youth nowadays, and this has been going on for a long while now...

We had an effective anti-violence propaganda in school. There was a guy who showed us pictures of beaten kids and sometimes had a story how such a weak punch can cause much damage. They were pretty gross and there were students who couldn't watch them at all.
