Hey guys, I'm starting another fanfic..I have so many ideas that I have to write them down. Let me point out that the male character is completely fictional(it's not me, considering that I don't get much posting from people when I do it). Anyhoo, hope you enjoy!

Prologue:Chance, Take 1

He looked out from his window as he saw the moving people go inside the apartments. Takeichi drank his cup of coffee before he had to go to work. He wished he could go down to the streets and help them out, but he would be late. He saw a girl walk into the apartments, but he couldn't get a clear shot of him because she was walking fast.

He went to the door, opened it and made his way down the stairs. If he had looked very closely, he would have saw the girl. Little did he also realize, that the girl was looking at him. He jogged down toward the doors that led to the outside world.

He went to work, wondering about the girl in question. He turned on the radio, like he always did and began to hear a song from a girl that he had begun to like for the past couple of months. He just wished he knew what the girl was that was singing the song.

He went to work, humming the song in his head, just like he always did. If he had one wish in the world to make, it would be to meet this special girl.

Little did he know, he would be meeting her soon.

Ah finally, a fic I can read from the beginning! I'll be keeping my eyes on this one as I'll actually be able to follow it as it unfolds.

Chapter 2:The girl next door

Takeichi came back home after a long day's work, hoping to be left alone for a while. He was so glad that he didn't have to listen to any more people, telling him how to do. He turned on the radio, hoping he could hear the song that he hummed along to earlier this morning. He waited for an hour before he heard the song again. He listened to it, as he smiled and even tried to dance a little. Of course, the song could only last for so long...

"That was the newest song from...," the radio person said before the lights cut off.

"Great," Takeichi muttered. He saw the lights flicker on and off as someone upstairs was using the hair dryer or something else. He couldn't remember a day since he moved in that the lights did not flicker. It ruined the mood for him, especially since he was trying to figure out the song that was playing previously.

He went outside his apartment door and saw someone shut the door to their apartment. The person came out moments later with a towel on their head and looked at Takeichi. "Will you stop with the lights?" the person asked.

"It's not me," Takeichi said. "I know who it is."

As soon as he finished, the lights flickered on and off again. "Who is that?" the person asked.

"I'll take care of it," Takeichi said.

"Don't worry about it," the person said, taking off the towel from its head. "I'll get used to it soon."

Takeichi looked at the person, who looked beautiful to him. The person had short dark brown hair and had dark brown eyes. "Did you just move here today?" he asked.

"I did," the person answered. "You're the first person that's welcomed me here."

"I should have welcomed you this morning."

"Don't worry, I have a feeling we'll see a lot of each other soon." The person opened her apartment door and began to walk inside. Takeichi could hear the same song from this morning playing inside. "Can I ask you who sings that song?" he asked.

"Abe Natsumi," she answered. "It's her new single."

Takeichi watched the door close as he heard the girl sing to the song. He went back to his apartment and sat down in his chair before he realized something. Was the same girl singing in the song really Abe Natsumi?

"No," Takeichi said. "It couldn't be her."

He would talk to her tomorrow. Besides, he had the whole day to himself to see the girl again.

Meanwhile, the girl looked out her window and saw Takeichi sitting on the couch. She had a sad look, but wondered what he would think when he heard the truth from her. She hoped he understood it when she told him.

"Maybe I'll tell him tomorrow," she said. "I hope he doesn't get the wrong idea."

Chapter 3:Dream=Reality?

The next morning, Takeichi woke up as he began to turn on the radio. Suddenly, he heard the door knock. He put on some clothes before he went to the door and answered it. He opened the door and saw the same girl from yesterday. She had almost the same style of clothes as Takeichi, but her hair was messed up like she had just woke up as well.

"Hi," the woman said, "can I come in?"

"Sure," Takeichi said. He let the girl in as he walked her over to the couch to sit down. "Can I get you something to drink?" he asked.

"Sure," the woman said. "What do you have?"

"All I have is coffee right now." Takeichi went to the kitchen to get another cup to pour coffee in. He went back into the living room with the coffee in one hand. As he sat down beside her, he felt a cold chill fill the room. He started to go to turn the heat on, before the woman stopped him.

"Aren't you cold?" Takeichi asked.

"I'll be fine," the woman said. "I should have told you to get some cocoa."

"I'll remember that next time."

"There's something I need to tell you anyway."

"What is it?"

"Remember when you asked me who sang that song yesterday?"

"Yeah, what is it?"

"Well..it was me."

"You mean..you sing that song?"

"Yes..." the woman said befiore taking a breath. "I'm Abe Natsumi."

"Really?" Takeichi asked. His mouth was open, unable to make a sound. He regained his composure before he could say something. "I can't believe it.."

"I should have told you sooner," Nacchi said.

"Don't worry about it," Takeichi replied.

"Just don't tell anyone I'm here. You're the only person I can trust."

"I promise." Takeichi felt the need to put his arm around her shoulder, but Nacchi hugged him instead. He felt a warmth from her that made him feel better, at least when he was off from work for today. "Why don't I take you out for breakfast?" he asked.

"Why don't I do it for you?" she asked. "You need to listen to more of my music."

"Okay, let me get dressed and I'll meet you at your place."

"Okay, see you in ten minutes." Nacchi got up to leave as Takeichi went to the bathroom to take a shower. He would have wanted to take his time, but this was Abe Natsumi, his next door neighbor and new best friend. He tried to find something to wear, but couldn't find anything to suit him. Suddenly, he began to hear more music from next door. It was Nacchi turning on the radio to one of her songs.

He left his apartment and went next door to Nacchi's. Before he could knock on the door, she opened the door to let him inside. "How did you know I was about to come over?" he laughed.

"Sit down," she said. "You got a lot of catching up to do."

Chapter 4:A guy, a girl and breakfast(but not a date)

"So, tell me about yourself," Nacchi said.

"What do you want to know?" Takeichi asked.

"Anything really."

"There's nothing special about me. I just go to work and go home."

"So what got you started listening to my music?"

"To be honest, I didn't know it was you until today."

"Well, let me see if I can find a song for you." Nacchi went over to the living room and turned on the radio. It began to play one of her songs that was on a compact disc. It played a song that was almost familiar to the song that Takeichi heard on the radio earlier.

"What is it?" Takeichi asked.

"Koi no Hana." Nacchi said as she did the motions for the song. "It's the fan's favorite song."

Takeichi couldn't help but laugh. He wished he could do the same motions, but he was too nervous to do it. Either that or it was his pride that kept him grounded to the floor.

"Wanna try it?" Nacchi asked.

"No thanks," Takeichi answered.

"Why not? You have to learn it sometime."

"I hate to tell you, but I would look silly."

"Really?" Nacchi looked at Takeichi, her face pouted at him.

"Well.." Takeichi shook his head and smiled. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to learn."

"Good." Nacchi flashed her smile again as she led Takeichi to learn the dance moves for the song. It took several tries and several laughing fits later for Takeichi to finally perfect the moves. During that time, Takeichi felt like he was floating on air as he was laughing along with Nacchi. He hadn't felt that way in a long time.

"Wanna try another one?" Nacchi asked.

"Thank goodness I have the day off," Takeichi smiled.

"Me too," Nacchi said. She heard the phone ring before she went over to the kitchen to pick it up. Takeichi could only hear bits and pieces of the conversation.

"Hello? Oh hi! Yes, I'm doing fine over here. No, just relaxing over here. Okay, I'll talk to you soon, bye!"

"Who was it?" Takeichi asked.

"Just a friend of mine," Nacchi said. "So, what dance shall we do now?"

"I have to learn, don't I?" Takeichi smiled.

"Let's try Yume Naraba. You'll love this song."

Chapter 5:A brief moment for romance..but for another time

It took Takeichi several tries, before he could get the song for Yume Naraba right. All the while, Nacchi was applauding and laughing every step of the way. He looked over at her and shook his head. "I thought you was going to help me," he laughed.

"I was," Nacchi smiled.

The duo kept doing dances for a while before the phone rang again. Nacchi went over and picked up the phone as Takechi turned the stereo off. "Hello?" Nacchi answered. "Oh, hi!"

Takeichi sat down on the couch as he tried to catch his breath. He began to get himself something to drink from the kitchen as he saw Nacchi look over at him. "Can you come by later?" Nacchi asked the person on the phone. "I have someone over right now."

Takechi went back to the living room and sat down on the couch as he heard Nacchi talk more on the phone. "No, just someone welcoming me here." she said.

"Yes, she called here this morning."

"No, he's not my new boyfriend. He's just my new neighbor."

"Yes, he's nice."

"Okay, I'll see you soon. Bye!"

Nacchi hung up the phone and joined Takeichi on the couch as she propped up beside him. "Sorry about that," she told him. "My friends talk so much about everything."

"Do they sing too?" Takeichi asked.

"All my friends do."

"Hopefully, I can hear them in a few days."

"You will. They're on the radio all the time."

"Even though I haven't heard them, I like your songs the best."

"How so?"

"Because.." Takeichi's voice almost broke, but he kept it together. Even though he just met her yesterday, he wasn't sure if he was falling for her. He thought if he told her, maybe it would make her understand. "Because, you're the most beautiful girl I have ever seen."

"Oh, Takeichi..." Nacchi's eyes widened and it looked like she was about to cry. Her face moved closer to Takechi's before he could do the same. Their lips were upon inches of each other when...

The phone rang again.

"Huh?" Nacchi's eyes blinked before she heard the phone again. "I'm so sorry."

She went over to the phone as Takechi got out a piece of paper and started scribbling something. He waved over at Nacchi as he left the apartment. Nacchi wanted to wave him back over, but it was too late. After she got off the phone, she saw a note on the table which read:

If you have time tonight, can you come over?
I really want to see you again.

Takeichi

"Takeichi.." Nacchi sighed. "If only you knew..."

Chapter 6:Unexpected dinner

The next day, Takeichi was sitting down on his couch, exhausted from a day of work. He had been aggravated with everything that had happened from work so much that he did not want to talk to anyone about it. His eyes were stared onto the TV, but he didn't truly focus onto the picture.

He also didn't see Nacchi come over to his house and knock on the door.

"Takeichi," Nacchi asked from outside. "Are you here?"

Takeichi snapped out of his trance and looked around as he tried to find the voice. He heard it again as the door knocks repeated. He went over to the door, which he opened to see Nacchi with food. "I saw you come in," she said. "I thought you were hungry."

"You read my mind," he said. "I was so tired from today."

Nacchi went inside with some food that she ordered earlier and sat it on the kitchen table. He went over to the kitchen and got some plates and glasses. "Sorry I couldn't be over last night," Nacchi said. "I thought this could be the least I could do for you."

"No problem," Takeichi said. "I knew you would be busy."

"Well, not really. I got your message and I should have came over."

"It's not your fault."

"Well..something stopped me."

"What is it?"

"I can't tell you."

"I won't say anything, I promise." He reached out to her hand, squeezed it and gave Nacchi a warm smile. She smiled as she slowly drew closer to Takeichi. She whispered something to Takeichi's ear as he nodded in agreement. "I'll keep your secret as long as you want," he promised.

"Thank you," Nacchi said. "You don't know how much that means to me."

"I'm happy to help."

"How about some dinner?" Nacchi got out some food as Takeichi went to the fridge and got out some wine. That move impressed Nacchi as she looked on. "Where did you get that?" she asked.

"I keep some from time to time," Takeichi answered. He poured some wine in Nacchi's glass as he returned the favor for his glass. "To us," he toasted to Nacchi. "Most importantly, to you."

"To you, Takeichi," Nacchi toasted.

They began to eat and talk about their day for a long time before they retired to the living room. They watched television for a while before Nacchi laid her head on Takeichi's chest. "I'm glad you're here," Nacchi said.

"You're the best thing that happened to me all day," Takeichi said.

"I'm glad," she smiled.

The fact that Nacchi is so bothered by whatever it was that kept her away the previous day that she made him promise to keep it a secret just piques one's curiosity even more.

As for the rest of it...AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! :wriggly:

Chapter 7:Another day, another step towards romance

The next day, Takeichi woke up, feeling relaxed from the night before. It seemed that whenever he was with Nacchi, he felt like he could do anything. In fact, he felt like doing something totally out of his character right about now. He got dressed, left his apartment and went to the nearest floral shop. He had some time before he had to come into work to get the flowers. He told the florist that he wanted some roses and that he would pickj them up later in the day.

"So, who's the lady?" the florist asked.

"Well, it's someone I just met," Takeichi answered.

"Does she have a name?"

"Can't tell you."

"Why not?"

"You wouldn't believe me."

The two men laughed as the florist promised the roses by the end of the day. Takeichi went into work, humming one of Nacchi's songs to himself. It also seemed that the day just flew by as Takeichi left from work to pick up the roses. It turned out he had to wait a longer time to get the roses since the delivery was late. as he waited, he began to hear a different song.

"What's that song?" he asked the florist.

"That's Aya Matsuura," the florist answered. "She's in a group with Miki Fujimoto."

"Never heard of it."

"I thought so. My daughter's a big fan of theirs."

They talked for a few minutes before the delivery person brought in a fresh new supply of roses. The florist took little time in arranging them and handing them over to Takeichi. The florist handed Takeichi a card to write something to Nacchi if he wanted to. As he left, he heard another song, but could tell that it was Nacchi's(considering that Nacchi introduced Takeichi to every song she had ever since their dance sessions).

As he got home, Takeichi put the roses near Nacchi's door and went to his apartment. He was about to put another song from Nacchi on his CD player, when the lights began flickering from the hair dryers and among other things being used. He waited for a few minutes before he went out the door, to which he found something missing: the roses were gone from Nacchi's apartment.

He began to knock on the door as he heard noises form the other side. The door opened as Takeichi stood in surprise. "Nacchi?" he asked.

"Sorry," she said. "I just got finished washing my hair."

"Oh, no problem."

"Why don't you come in?"

"Did you get my message?"

Nacchi led Takeichi inside the apartment without another spoken word. That was when he saw the roses and the message he wrote to her:

To the girl that makes every day brighter, and the girl who makes me smile.

Chapter 8:A dream(and a kiss)come true

The next day, Takeichi was at work, trying to keep himself awake. He didn't get much sleep from the night before thanks to the telephone call from Nacchi. Another reason was he had woke up from a dream that he had wished he come back to. His eyes were about to slowly close again when someone interrupted him.

"Excuse me, Takeichi?" a woman asked.

"Yes?" Takeichi answered.

"Someone brought these for you." The lady handed Takeichi a bouquet of flowers before she left. Takeichi set the flowers down as he took out the note from them. The note read: Dear Takeichi, I've ben thinking of you all day. Can't wait to see you tonight! Nacchi

Takeichi smiled as he began to work again at his own normal pace. Something had happened over the past few days that gave him more energy than ever, all thanks to his new friend(and next door neighbor). He couldn't wait to get off from work so he could see her again.

Unfortuantely, that would not be the case.

His boss wanted Takeichi to work a few extra hours which made him more angry and depressed. He had the whole night planned and it was now in ruins. Every time he tried to get things done, he would become more frustrated. Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice calling out to him. He looked around and heard the radio play Nacchi's song(the same one he had tried to figure out the first time he saw her).

He took a deep breath and began to work again, hopeful that it wasn't too late to salvage his plans. Afetr he was finished, his boss met him at the door. To Takeichi, it looked like more work was on the way for him. "Someone's waiting outside for you," he said.

"Who is it?" takeichi asked.

"I don't know, it seems like she has been there a long time."

Takeichi ran out the door and out to the parking lot, already knowing who it was. He looked around before he saw her from afar. He ran over to her and saw that she had a pouted look on her face and had her arms crossed. "Where have you been?" she asked.

"I'm so sorry," Takeichi said. "I had to work late."

"You could have called."

"I was swamped with work."

"So? Do you realize how long I waited?"

Takeichi knew there was no way to win the argument. He knew that he let Nacchi down and began to walk away. That was before Nacchi caught up to him. "Do you have a explanation?" she asked.

"You were on my mind all day and I couldn't do work?" he asked.

"What?"

"Oh, and thank you for the flowers."

Nacchi looked at Takeichi and began to smile again. She walked up to him and kissed him slightly on the lips. To Takeichi, it was a dream come true. "I forgot to tell you soemthign else," he told Nacchi.

"What is it?" she asked.

"I did have a dream of you last night..almost similar to this."

"Tell me." She wrapped her arm around Takeichi's as they walked away, as the sun began to set in the distance.

Chapter 9:Love and Romance, interrupted

Later that day, the two enjoyed dinner as they talked about their day. Nacchi told Takeichi about getting ready for her new single coming soon. She promised him that she would give him a copy as soon as it hit shelves. Takeichi was surprised, since nothing ever that good could happen to him on any regular day(before meeting Nacchi, of course).

"I wish I had your day," Takeichi said.

"Actually, I hope you don't," Nacchi replied.

"Why not?"

"You wouldn't be able to handle it."

"You seem to be handling it well."

"You wouldn't understand."

"You're probably right."

"Besides, I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself unless when I'm with you."

"Why's that? Of all people, why me?"

"I'm not sure. Ever since I met you, you've been so nice to me."

"I should be saying that to you. You're the only person that I've cared about."

"Really?"

"Yes." Takeichi took Nacchi's hand and squeezed it, a little harder than what he did with it the last dinner they had. "I want to tell you something, but I'm afraid you'll turn me away."

"What is it?" Nacchi asked.

"It's something you may have heard before from your fans."

"Go ahead and tell me," Nacchi said. She squeezed Takeichi's hand in return, assuring him that what he would say would not ruin their friendship.

"I think I may be falling for you," Takeichi replied. He said it so fast that Nacchi couldn't understand it.

"What did you say?" she asked.

"I said..I may be in love with you."

"Really?"

"I think so.." Takeichi pulled away from Nacchi for a moment. "When I first saw you, I really thought something could happen. I didn't know what was going on between us, even when I gave you the roses and.."

"Don't say anything," Nacchi replied. "I know exactly what you're saying."

"You do?"

"Yes, that's why I gave you flowers too."

"You mean.."

"Yes. I may be falling for you too."

Nacchi reached for Takeichi's hand and leaned close toward him. She kissed him gently on the lips again before she lightly deepened the kiss. The two kissed for a few seconds before the phone interrupted them again. "I'm so sorry," Nacchi replied. "Just stay for a minute."

"All right," Takeichi said.

Nacchi went over to the phone and began to talk for a while, as Takeichi sat down and waited. It must have been an eternity before Nacchi got off the phone and went over to Takeichi. "I am so sorry," she said. "I didn't mena for you to wait this long."

"Don't worry," Takeichi said. "I was about ready to go."

"Please stay," Nacchi replied, grabbing his hand. "I want you here."

"Are you sure?" Takeichi asked.

He was met by a kiss from Nacchi, only this time, they would not be interrupted for quite a while.

Chapter 10:Takaramono

Takeichi had just got off from work, with a bad attitude. It was all because his co-workers left early and left all their work for him to complete. He wished that he didn't have to go to work tomorrow and put up with the same thing over again. It was beginning to rain outside as he began to make himself something to eat. He hadn't heard from Nacchi in a couple of days, assuming that she was busy with her work.

He watched TV for a while, trying to eat what he could from his cooking. After a few bites, he went to the kitchen and threw it in the trash. It would have been better to order a pizza when he got home. He took out glass of wine and began to drink, trying to calm his nerves on what was a truly nerve-racking day.

He flipped through channel after channel on the TV screen, trying to find something worth watching, at least for a few minutes. A comedian. Another comedian. Some cooking show. Some J-drama. Another J-drama about romance. Another comedy show. Nothing more to find.

He finally found a music show, which he left on for a while. However, to his surprise, the first video that they played was Nacchi's new song. Takeichi jumped off from his chair and went to the TV screen, like a little child. The sight of her and the sound of her voice was enough to flood his eyes with tears. He wished that he could record the song so that he could play it over and over again. At least this time, he could go and pick up the new CD tomorrow and could play it all day

Why wait until tomorrow? he thought. He began to run to his bedroom and get out his coat to go out into town for the CD. However, when he opened the front door, he saw someone waiting outside.

"Takeichi?" the person asked.

"Nacchi?" Takeichi asked.

The person stepped inside as the person took off their coat and hat. Takeichi looked and was more in shock than in smiling.

It was Abe Natsumi.

"Nacchi?" Takeichi asked. "What are you doing here?"

"Sorry I'm late," Nacchi answered. "It's pouring outside."

"You're telling me."

"What was you going to do?"

"Oh..I was going to go out and buy your new CD."

"Not in this weather. Besides, let's spend the night here."

"All right. What do you have in mind?"

Nacchi got something out of her coat pocket. She went to the DVD player and put it in. Takeichi went to the couch and sat down as Nacchi pushed play on the remote. He was still confused, but having Nacchi beside him was more than enough to make him feel better. "What is it?" Takeichi asked.

"It's my first movie, Takaramono," Nacchi answered.

Takeichi didn't say anything else. He watched the movie as he felt entwined to Nacchi's performance in the movie. What he didn't realize was that Nacchi was crying when the movie Nacchi was crying as well. "Nacchi?" Takeichi asked. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," Nacchi smiled through tears. "I always get emotional when watching the movie."

"Oh, sorry."

"Do you know what the title means?"

"What is it?"

"It stands for treasure."

"Just like you are to me?"

Nacchi's eyes lit up, knowing that Takeichi was right. She kissed Takeichi passionately as the rain began to pour in intensity outside. Takeichi turned out the lights as they continued their make-out session. Nacchi didn't need to answer Takeichi, just like he didn't need to go out and get Nacchi's new CD. They both knew that they got what they wanted and more.
