Did they send Koharu and Aika off after the first half? Didn't see them during the second.

1.) Gaki's so cute (really needa snapshot it ) & looks like she's the leader in the "1st half"
2.) Aichan can really sing & dance (everyone knows that LOL)
3.) Sayu's cute ~ nice hairstyle ^_^ weird but cute
4.) yay Risako & Yuri's solo (but wtf happened to the audio )
5.) yay Maimi's "dialogue"
6.) everyone's kicking (love Maichan's kick )
7.) the Eggs always wear their uniform (well, since they're still "student", it's understandable )

Sayu's hair IS funny, in an awful way. Cute too, but still >_< it's pretty big ;-;
I quite liked the ending, there were more shots of Aichan and Gakisan

I wanted to take some caps off those but my DVD ran out of space T____T

the medley was pretty bad. love machine again? depressing.
and the H!P kids were not given enough screen time. if this is all they're given I'd rather have ishikawa and matsuura who will at least be accorded the attention they deserve.
"ne ii deshouuu!!!" was unexpected and the fact that it wasn't attached to a face made it even more surreal. highlight of the performance!!! (bias at work)
I preferred mugonzaka even if it's just office attire and swaying. at least it didn't feel so spliced and diced (in a bad way.)

It seems kouhaku has three approaches to spectacle: incredible costumes/ sets/ lighting, Drama with the capital D and Bad Taste.
and year upon year H!P only goes for Bad Taste.
I also realized that the best singles this year (imo) aren't happy happy joy joy
so....

opens with a bang, tokaikko junjou. roving spotlights on c-ute and just c-ute.
maimi goes "kokoro no naka wo minuite hoshi...."
trails off
and acapella (maybe accompanied with some haunting instrumentals)
"fuutari narande koshi kaketa mamaaa...."
music comes in
"anata ga suki etc."
and the last verse of kokuhaku (the happy ending) if there's time.

then dramatic lighting or sth. here are momusu in red (akagumi after all) onna ni sachi are till first chorus with momusu leading the triangle and c-ute and berryz on the fringes

and after the performance, charmy appears as the host for akagumi. i don't get why nakai was the host.

H!P's performance was all over the place, and I know the groups are busy with different things, but the entire performance was really sloppy. I didn't know where to look the entire performance. The transitions into the songs (aside from Berryz to C-ute) were horrible too I did like how the eggs came up took their outfits, though... Big balls of poof leaving the stage

And I totally wtf-ed at Sayumi's hair 

Imo, I think the whole performance should've been LALALA Shiawase no Uta. The other three songs were just... bad. That song was really catchy even if it was just the end of the song. I think it would've been waaay more memorable for people.

Such doom and gloom in here. Still, should be used to that now Well, I enjoyed it. Would have liked the individual songs to have been a bit longer, but oh well. Just happy to see them there! Thank god they lost the poof as well. Still, poof seems to be a Kouhaku costume tradition, particularly for H!P.

*As an AKB fan I feel a bit gyped though.... maybe six or seven girls all up got about three seconds of face time each*

Oh yeah, bot, Kokuhaku no Funsui Hiroba would be a much better song there. I think the girls would sing better too.

Why do I feel like the Kids had more facetime when they were just backup dancers?

The air-time was too short as always.  I'm disappointed not to see Mikan as the kids sing their new songs, Momusu sings old song.

This is because of this part of the Japanese Labor Standards Law:

Article 61. An employer shall not employ a person under 18 full years of age between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.; however, this shall not apply to males over 16 full years of age employed on the shift system.

That's why you saw Tsunku accepting the Best New Artist award for ℃-ute the other night.  The interview afterward was when they were preparing to go home, and therefore off the clock.

Just saw it, and I thought it was okay.  Was something wrong with Yurina's mic? I felt like she wasn't loud enough.I though Risako did good.  But the 20 secs of Tsukiatteiru and Tokaikko were okay.  and Sayumi's hair = wtf.  I still want to check out AKB48's performance

I pretty much liked it. The only part I really didn't like is how short it all was, and how the medley was, as some of you have been saying, all over the place-- I "WTF?"ed when it went from The Peace! to Tsukiatteiru no ni Kataomoi-- just weird transitions like that. But since none of that is the girls' fault, I still think they did pretty well. 

Takahashi, Eri, Risa, and Risako were the stars of the performance for me. They all really performed their solo lines (and generally other lines) well. (And Risa's just so damn happy, you've gotta love her.  )

I didn't liked Sayu's hair, it looks so....ew. But Gaki-san looked so good

I liked it, but I thought the kids should've gotten more time. I wish the whole thing was longer though, I mean, there ARE three artists there..

And woot, no Mikan. LOVE Machine again is fine with me ._.

WTF 3.5 minutes of i don´t know what... it´s unfair that Berryz and C-ute perform as part of the package but at least they do their last singles... but actually the part with BK and C-ute with MM as back dancers was unique. Anyway, i didn´t like it a lot but it wasn´t that bas after all... gladly Ai-chan was great (that´s normal) but dammit i almost didn´t saw Maimi... oh and the whole perfonmance could end with Tokkaiko in a better way but NO they put that lala lalala and destroy the big moment of Maimi T__T saaaad

I'm surprised no one talked about Airi.  She didn't hit her standard with her solo line, but that's just because she normally does better than she did this time, I still think she stands out the most for the kids.

on the other had risako did unexpectedly well , i love her n'all but she usually (to putit lightly) had a hard time carying a line . it was a pleasnt surprise to see her sang her lines good this time

Agree about Risako and Airi; the world's gone mad when Risako sings better than Airi, but Airi's been getting steadily worse and Risako steadily better (at least in my opinion) so I guess it was bound to happen... ROFL!!


Anyway I thought the perf was horrible: almost everyone sounded bad, there were mic/mixing problems, the medley was too short, won't somebody kill Love Machine already, hated the puffy dresses cuz there wasn't space for them (lol)... If I wasn't a H!P fan I would've changed the channel (if I had watched it on TV).

Like everyone said 3 minutes is just too short and it's for 3 groups! and all the other artist sure took their time getting to the side stage! I was like "go away faster will ya!!! you're blocking! geez!" they completely blocked C-ute during the opening 

And as great as love machine was, It's getting old!!! you'd think they'd prepare something new & special for kouhaku but nooo~ I blame the UFA guys

however there's still some upside though, the girls all look stunning as usual (even sayumi, I liked the hair, weird but cute^^), and the last "Lalalala" song did make it a somewhat better perf..

might be a stupid question but what song is that btw? is it a hello project song?
