Japan's former prime minister Shinzo Abe, once touted as the fresh young face who would usher in a new conservative era, has said he quit the post because of severe diarrhea.

Colitis Ulcerosa is a serious disease. Quitting the premiership because of diarrhea may sound funny, but it's not. I hope Abe gets better and can continue in politics or in some other field of interest.
