All I'll say is soon or later everything is gonna be contaminated, are we not suppose to use anything then and just rest to dead?

Stupid. I don't see a reason why I shouldn't eat Chinese food. Some time ago there we're some chickens in some country affected with something and people here didn't ate any chicken for months..

Similar problems go more or less unregulated in the rest of Asia - its the tip of the iceberg. For example in Taiwan, locally grown or processed produce that is exported (e.g. rice grown alongside an industrial park waterway) is subject only to local (& often questionable) EPA standards and not enforced by the WTO.

Who is testing the testers?

It's more complex than you guys think.
How does contaminated food affect the body? It very much depends on what kind of contamination you can obtain. You can contract very unpleasant conditions such as e.coli, campylobacter, listeria, etc- even through food which has not been stored correctly or has been undercooked. These can cause symptoms varying from a mildly upset stomach, severe gastric problems and even death.
Contamination, whether accidental or deliberate, with foreign bodies or other contaminants would also very much be circumstance dependent.

Quote from: News
... respondents are unsatisfied with the government's response over the incident, saying it is not fulfilling its administrative responsibility.

This is a worldwide problem. I've seen various recalled foods here in the states alone.
I read that a recent massive pet food recall is due to contaminated wheat gluten. Apparently melamine, found in plastics in North America, is used as a fertilizer in China. This may have resulted in the contaminated pet food. It seems we do need some regulations?
The only thing the government can really do is limit trade with China, which as you've all read, where food may be contaminated.
That being said, what's being done to limit trade with China?

Absolutely nothing. Most people don't realize that the Free Trade act with China, India, etc, don't regulate anything. The next time you buy an electric device (toaster, microwave) made abroad you notice that it doesn't have any safety standards stickers.

We need to get rid of Free Trade, it's not free, it is hurting the world to an incredible degree.

business and factories in China have alot of problems, don't they.  I heard about the toys that was made in China by a factory contains lead that is lethal, especially to kids.  it was recalled and cause millions or billions of dollars,  and several other cases, that of which i don't know.

And know this.   The quality of "Made in China" products really have gone downhill or something, huh?

It's sad too cuz China supposed to be a huge potential market where everyone used to want to start a business and invest there, now probably it'll take a lot of effort to let consumers trust Chinese products now.

Btw, i dunno if this is appropiate or not, but

[bgcolor=#000000]My father heard of this and he (maybe jokingly said,)  that this was intentional.  The Chinese govt probably did this so they can harm the japanese general population.  Kind of like a revenge on what the japanese did during WW2. [/bgcolor]

People say stuff on a poll in the spur of the moment or to follow the crowd.

If they really liked it, most of them will probably be eating them again anyways.

lol strange, I just had some Gyoza a few hours ago. If there ever was a contamination here, I don't think I'd be able to give 'em up, love Gyoza way too much.

And people who usually respond to these polls, are the ones that feel strongly about the topic (and are usually biased against it). Because as you know with surveys, not everyone they ask always takes the time to respond.

Im sure they selected random people to do the survey, not the other way around.
