Wow. Big news that I didn't see coming. After his law and order thing and going after (mostly) innocent people like Martha Stewart for minor irregularities, it shows him up as a huge hypocrite.

All in all, we usually don't put the men in jail for being with prostitutes. This is terribly unfair but that's the way it is. Soliciting is the crime which is generally prosecuted.

He's the politician who got caught. I bet alot of his buddy politicians are involved in something of this sort.

I wouldn't be surprised.

In the case of Spitzer, he may have broken the Mann Act which isn't using the services of a prostitute, but arranging the transportation of a prostitute across State lines (from NY to DC) and there may be other laws which he broke as well since he mailed money and used bank transfers.

Spitzer call girl reportedly identified

The call girl at the center of the prostitution scandal that prompted Gov. Eliot Spitzer to resign in disgrace has been identified as a 22-year-old aspiring musician who struggled in a broken home as a child.

The New York Times reported that the real name of the woman — identified as "Kristen" in court papers alleging that Spitzer paid thousands of dollars for her services — is Ashley Alexandra Dupre.
