1) The STK (stalker) who took the photos and uploaded them onto 2ch made it very clear that Reina was NOT drinking or smoking.
2) The cigarette pack belongs to Reina's mom, who was with her at the scene.
3) Reina was simply at the izakaiya eating yakitori. Apparently yakitori served at izakaiya is particularly good, and since she was accompanied by an adult there is nothing wrong with her being there either.
4) The STK uploaded the photos to remind Reina that she is an idol (yet underage too), and to take care of her public image by avoiding being seen and photographed in situations that can potentially arouse unnecessary suspicions.
Aside from a few excited wotas who found something to rip into, most people who posted at 2ch over the photos seem to agree that she wasn't smoking or drinking, and that it's just some photos taken at a manipulative angle that make it seem like she was drinking and smoking. The topic appears to be a dead one now, and some stupid Korean online gossip site had an article up with all the wrong information and made it out to be a much bigger issue than it really was. Like no one in Japan even cared about the photos and the article said that Reina was in the middle of a scandal. If that was the case we would have heard something about it by now. Reina herself may not be so well-known, but the Morning Musume name still seems to hold interest for those who are looking for a story (even better if it's a scandal...), so the media wouldn't have missed the story. Especially as it concerns underage smoking, which we H!P fans all know too much about.
