I thought i wouldn't be updating until 2009 steps in... but then, someone just had to have a birthday today... *sighz* LOL!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOLLIPOPGIRL, THIS UPDATE IS FOR YOU

a really short one, gomen nasai...

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rika cradled Hitomi in her arms. The tears from her eyes have mixed with the blood on the white polo her love wore.

"To-chan... I'm here... Stay with me... You promised..." She whispered repetitively while gently rocking the unconscious Hitomi.

From the corner of her eye, she could see Baldo watching them, gaining confidence at their vulnerable position. They were open on all sides. No wall, no crate, nothing stood in their defense.

She quickly picked up the gun from where it lay and pointed it at his head.

The goons took no step closer but Baldo inched forward towards them.

He crept slowly in a defensive stance, prepared to jump off the way in case Rika pulls the trigger.

Rika's hand trembled hard as held the gun. The weight of the gun was enough to make it shake but what was worse is that, she had already pulled the trigger. The cartridge is empty!

Though it was obvious to her that Baldo nor the goons did not notice this major setback on her part, she knew it wouldn't be long until he challenges her to fire the gun. By then, she wouldn't be able to deny their advantage over them.

But she was steadfast in her acting. "'Wag kang lalapit!" (Don't come any closer!)

He took a step closer.

"Pasasabugin ko ang bungo mo 'pag lumapit ka!" (I'll make your skull burst if you come any closer!)

Baldo paused. The tone in which Rika spoke was convincing. She did look determined to break his skull.

He looked towards his goons who were still motionless. He shook his head at their quizzical faces. He was the one endangered here.

He stared at Rika again. He didn't want things to end up in this mess but the goods just had to resist.

The clients were safe within their bulletproof SUV and just watched the drama commencing outside. Apparently, they were used to seeing people getting killed in this fashion.

To Rika's surprise, Baldo started walking towards them, seemingly unafraid of the gun.

"Wag kang lalapit!" (Don't come any closer!) she screamed as she kept aim at his head.

A smirk grew on his face as his pace quickened.

Rika then realized that she had been found out. In her mind was sheer panic as Baldo was only five steps away.

Four.

Three.

*BANG!* The footstep, second to the last became his last as a bullet from outside buried itself in Baldo's lungs.

In a matter of minutes, heavy footsteps of the police trampled the concrete floor of the warehouse.

==

Rika sat next to the stretcher in the ambulance and held Hitomi's hand.

"Why did you come without the police? You should've known better..."

Joseph could only eavesdrop as he drove quickly to the nearest hospital, Chinese General Hospital in Blumentritt, Manila.

It was he and Rika who had laid Hitomi on the stretcher and loaded the van-turned-ambulance. It would've taken them about half an hour more if they waited for the paramedics.

A police car followed them closely as they zigzagged in A.Bonifacio Ave, with sirens blaring in the twilight.

Rika had promised to answer all the police' questions once Hitomi was brought to the hospital.

She kissed her savior on the forehead as Joseph took a sharp turn to the right, entering the gates of the hospital, heading straight to the emergency room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOLLIPOPGIRL!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm getting spoiled here, and I LIKE it! :w00t:
What an important and awesome update it is too! :D
I got really worried when Rika said there was no bullets left, I had no idea how she was gonna get out of it... and then when Baldo figured it out SHIT! Dare I say it, Thank god for Joseph, he finally got the cops there! Hopefully now with the way Yossy risked her life for Rika he really sees how much they love each other and for his own sake he can move on... I guess he is a good kid and deserves to be happy, just not with Rika :P
I'm sooo glad they are out of that scary place now, the more time spent there with all the goons, the more worrying it was!
I hope you had a lovely Christmas dearest and thank you lots & lots & lots & lots & lots for my present :gmon heartu:
Aw Joseph just proved himself as a man and a good friend.
Everything will be alright now. I'm sure their argument from before seems petty now.
I was so scared when I read that Rika had no more bullets. Stupid Baldo called her bluff and we almost had trouble. But for once, I'm glad that Joseph exists. XD He saved them all!! Maybe he's not so bad... :P But no match for Yossy, who would have helped, had she not had a bullet in her.
Not really surprised at this. The fact that they've got a bulletproof SUV should be proof enough that they're somewhat accustomed to situations like this.
Happy New Year!
Something will happen...
the pin/needle/nail/steel-guitar-string is coming soon...
part of the series of short transitory...UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!s
Ayaka and Mai ran across the hall to find Rika standing by the emergency room, being questioned by a police officer. The com-van of a big radio station outside told them that this was going to be messy.
"Ma'am... pakibigay n'yo na lang po ang pangalan ninyo para lang po sa mga record namin sa istasyon" (Ma'am... please just give us your name so we can put it in our records at the station)
He asked politely but the tone of frustration was already noticeable in how he spoke. Apparently, he has asked her for the nth time and she is simply refusing to answer any questions as of the moment. She did not even turn her head to look at him. She stared at the door that kept her away from Hitomi.
Ayaka quickly walked up to the police officer. "Excuse me, sir..."
The officer turned to her out of sheer annoyance with the woman he was supposed to be questioning. "Ano po yon?" (What is it?) He asked with a sarcastically polite tone.
Rika was relieved to hear Ayaka's voice but she still would not turn her attention from the door.
"I am Ayaka Kimura, she is Ishikawa Rika and the person in the emergency room is Hitomi Yoshizawa." She opened her bag and produced their diplomat identification. "Please let Ms. Ishikawa wait for Ms. Yoshizawa to be in a stable condition. She will answer your questions as soon as we are sure that our company president is safe. If you have any questions about who they are, you may speak to your superiors about them. But please, just give her some time... And please keep the press away from them as much as possible..."
He stared at Ayaka, surprised at her demeanor. She did speak very respectfully and humbly but there was something in her tone that commanded him, as if she was someone of importance. He turned to the side, took out his cellphone and dialed a number.
Mai stood beside Rika and placed a hand on her shoulder for comfort but as soon as the hand made contact with her skin, she crumbled and in tears.
"I'm sorry. This is my fault... Why did she have to come?"
Mai and Ayaka knew nothing of the details. They could only stand by Rika for company. Neither dared to ask what happened. The only thing they knew was that their Yoshiko was badly injured. Thanks to that text message from Joseph.
this is my thread, my fic. if you're not happy here, leave.
and finally, this is entirely my fault: this fic will not be updated in a long while. not because of my thesis (i'm almost done), not because of my girl (she doesn't care about me writing anymore), not because i don't know what to write next (because i have planned everything out) but because i think i have given too much of myself for this... i am tired and that deleted post was just enough to send me to i-don't-think-this-is-worth-my-while'sville...
1171 posts, 20,024 views in a single thread in a span of 7-8months, from a noob.
i have done something for this community.
Well, it's not every day that the head of one of the biggest companies in RP gets shot in the leg in some abandoned warehouse on the bad side of town.
Ayaka and Mai are likely going to have to take charge and do some major damage control (or at least...spin-doctoring).
But...unless he used Rika's phone...how did he get Mai and/or Ayaka's cell number to text them?  :?
i have done something for this community.
Damn straight you have girl!
You haven't just written something that many people have enjoyed reading but you've brought people out of no where to read this... The amount of people that have left a comment in this thread that I 1) had never seen post before and/or 2) never saw post again anywhere is crazy... All they wanted to do was to thank you for sharing this with them.
Even all us YoMiki fans that you've managed to swing to the IshiYoshi side, even if it only last while we're in this thread, you still beat us down and make us listen... that means you have effect on people!
You can't please everyone tru, no one ever can, but none of it matters if you can't please yourself first!
You've worked so hard here, even when you thought your head wasn't in it, your heart always was!
I remember how you use to tell me how writing here was your escape & what you looked forward to doing & it sucks that its now become the burden so detaching yourself from it a bit could be good... But I'm sure you'll be back coz we love you and you know exactly where to find your RFP family :heart:
I still maintain that you have to write for yourself BEFORE you write for others (except for when we bug you about sexy make-up scenes, then you should write them anyway :P) so tell the story you want to tell when you feel ready for it again :gmon heartu:
And Hellz YEAH to the thesis almost being done :w00t:
I'ma comeback after I do that sleeping thing and comment on the story, just had to say the gibberish in my head first :oops:
Maaan, when Rika wasn't replying to the cop I was starting to freak out thinking she reverted back to being silent! As heart breaking as it was when she broke down after Mai's touch I was sooo relieved that she was talking still :w00t:
I'm with JFC, Ayaka being all professional and 'demanding' like that is pretty darn sexy! :drool:
I'm really glad Jo got in contact with Ayaka, Rika needs people & if Yossy's best friends/family don't blame her for what happens then hopefully they can knock some sense into her that its not her fault :cry: And of course Yossy came after you, you would have done the same thing  :yep: *whispers to Rika* it's called love :heart: :P
Hopefully Shiba-chan is there for her soon :(
« Reply #1139 on: January 18, 2009, 12:49:14 PM »
thank you everyone... i'm okay now... i think... not sure when the next update will be... but because there's a special occasion tomorrow...
update up now...
Mai and Ayaka left Rika by the emergency room as they arranged fro Hitomi to be transferred to Medical City, which was closer to Makati and had better facilities. A real ambulance had been sent on its way and they were only waiting for it to arrive.
Mai faced the press who were slowly building in numbers outside. It seems that competing news stations were giving each other tips on this scoop. Some of the medical staff had already leaked the names of Hitomi and Rika to the reporters. Ayaka and Mai could no longer keep the incident secret.
But it wasn’t telling the truth of the matter that was the problem. It was stopping the untrue reports from coming out. Just hearing the questions of the press outside told them that this will be harder than anything they have handled before.
“Ms. Satoda! Is it true that Y-Group is involved in human trafficking?”
==
The police officer previously badgering Rika for answers had stopped being so rude after being chastised by his superiors upon hearing that it was Yoshizawa Hitomi who was involved the incident. He could only hold his cellphone an inch away from his ear as his boss yelled at him. “Tanga ka ba? Hindi mo sila kilala?!” (Are you stupid? You don’t know them?!)
He could only curse under his breath as the police chief hung up. How should he know who this people are?
He looked at Rika who was then seated on a plastic Monobloc chair, still outside the emergency room. She had calmed down and stopped crying. Pulling a seat behind him which he set in front of Rika’s, he began speaking to her with an apology. “Ma’am, pasensya na po kayo kanina, magulo lang po kasi e…” (Ma’am, I’m sorry for what happened earlier, everything was just chaotic)
Rika simply nodded at him, not wanting to prolong this conversation.
“Pwede ‘nyo po bang sabihin sa’kin kung ano yung nangyari? Para lang po sa mga record po namin” (Can you tell me what happened? Just for our records)
Rika gave brief answers, not giving too many details about the incident. From the police reports, it appears that May had escaped, some goons, Dan and Baldo were all dead. The four goons who had beaten Hitomi up, the men in the SUV and their driver were apprehended, not one seriously hurt.
Ayaka and Mai made their way back to Rika’s side after promising the press for updates through a press conference. The Philippine press were not only persistent, some of them were irreverent.
Ayaka asked the officer for the initial findings of the police. She didn’t have the heart to ask Rika what had happened. She was very surprised at reading the police report. Baldo’s clients were, in fact, stockholders in a Y-Group subsidized company. This would have to be brought up at the next stockholders meeting. She took out her O2 and made a memo of it.
==
Rika sat quietly in Mai’s van as they tailed the ambulance now transporting Hitomi from CGH to Medical City. Despite Rika’s insistence to be in the ambulance with Hitomi, she was not permitted by the medical staff to do so.
Rika looked toward the rising sun. The light struggled to penetrate the clouds concealing its radiance. But it would not succeed for the next few hours.
