I thought you're out of the country because it's been two months since the last time you updated...  [ :welcome HOME ]

I wonder what's in Miki's mind

And I hope Rika's plane will be delayed or something  :D

I KNEW IT!!!!! I totally knew someone (in this case, Miki) would see Rika!!! "To be the cause of all her misery...", that line broke my heart. I hope Miki has a plan, to fix this. She, of all ppl, knows Yossy quite well, in an intimate way, so I think she'll do something good. Something to persuade Rika to come back.

Hitomi's persistence has gotten her back to her office. Sure, she's on the couch, but it's close enough to her desk to see how Ayaka is doing.
So she's not doing any actual work, but is just going to be a "consultant" for the time being so she can rest up?

Decent compromise, I'd say. :)

Quote
Hitomi just sulked on the couch again, seeing that there wasn't a way for her to win this debate with Ayaka.

But she needed to keep her mind busy. She has to do something. Anything.

Anything to keep her mind from other things...

She looked around the coffee table.

Today's paper.

...

A sudoku puzzle. How nice.

...

Puzzles. Hitomi had developed a dislike for them.

Then again, it's better than nothing.
If Yossi's anything like me, she'd better be careful that she doesn't agitate herself. I suck at sudoku.

Shit, Miki's going to be kicking herself later when she realizes she shouldn't have kept her mouth shut about seeing Rika (assuming Yossi doesn't beat her up herself). :o

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aya couldn't stay upset too long. She had noticed that Miki was in deep thought.

Did something happen at the airport?

But if something did, Miki would tell her about it right away.

Or would she?

Mai didn't bother to turn on the radio, her only goal was to get back to the office as soon as possible. There was so many work to be done and an invitation to turn down. She was driving as fast as safely possible, taking so many shortcuts that in a few minutes, they couldn't hear the sounds of the planes taking flight anymore.

Aya just observed Miki praying the latter would say something. Aya didn't like starting such serious conversations. Miki's face told her that it's a non-humorous thought in her mind.

Just silence in the van.

Until...

Miki leaned a bit forward to the center where she could see Mai.

"Mai, how is Yocchan?" Miki asked

"Busy at the office, like usual... got sick today... really unusual... but she wasn't the same after--"

"Ishikawa left." Miki completed the sentence abruptly.

"Yeah" Mai said as she took a left turn at the intersection. "Why are you asking me about that"

Miki went back to her former position, leaning back on her chair. "... nothing..."

Mai looked at Ayaya through the rear view mirror. The latter just shrugged as she didn't know what was going on either.

~

Shark banged her head on the plywood wall of Rika's apartment. Which she just left. Empty and ready for a new resident.

"DAMNIT!"

Yesterday, she was happy like a bird that she had located where Rika was living.

She wanted to tell the captain right away but didn't. Because she wanted to be sure.

Sure.

And now, the target is gone. GONE!

Could it be that Rika knew they were looking for her?

Possible.

Could it be that Rika noticed her tailing behind the other day?

Possible.

"DAMNIT!"

She took her phone out and called Mars.

"Oi. Anything from the exit points?"

"Nothing... but you know we can't rely on the computers in the ports... Well, at least not in this place... I thought you got her location pinned down?"

"Well I did... but she left before i arrived here!"

"Then, just wait for her there"

"No one to wait for, man... she moved out!"

"The captain is so gonna kill you"

"I know..." Shark hung up. "But that's not what I'm worried about"

Hmm, so I'm still hoping Miki's being all quiet b/c she's thinking of a plan. Gotta give myself hope somewhere! The Eyes found Rika's location too late, she's already gone. :( Is Shark afraid that she won't be able to find Rika?

today, i had an internal debate because i haven't been fishing for ishiyoshi news for two weeks! XD

if i start looking for news again, RFP will be on hiatus again... dunno why that happens... it just does. haha

so... as of today, i have no idea what is going on with ishiyoshi on this plane of existence (the one where you and i are on)

haha... ignorance is bliss indeed... i'd blog about it but... nah XD read my mind, baby! it's all here!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rika took her small bag from under her seat and walked past her countrymen, still seated in rows. They filled the air with endless chatter about so many things.

It's been a while since she has seen so many Japanese people all in one place. Most of them looked like businessmen. They were all well dressed. Even the women and children. Rolex watches and Salvatore Ferrogamo shoes, Louis Vuitton bags and diamond decked Hello Kitty accessories.

Familiar and alien all at once. The life she had which was taken away from her, which found her and which she left.

Jet engines roared above as she tread the airport. She took her small luggage from the designated pick-up point.

Meeting Miki a some hours ago sure was a surprise.

Put she was relieved that Miki didn't force her back to... her.

Hitomi's side was no place for her.

~

Ayaka reluctantly carried some folders over to Hitomi, who was still on the couch. There were papers to be signed and Hitomi wouldn't sign them without having read them herself.

Deadlines. Due dates. The whole week has been about them.

Ayumi, Mai and herself have been mum about Rika all week long, trying to see if Hitomi would talk about her without them prodding her unto the subject. But her name never came out of Hitomi's lips.

Did the Eyes have it all covered?

Have they found her, reported of it to Hitomi and the latter just isn't telling them?

Ayaka started, still a bit hesitant. "Yoshiko, about Rik--"

"Ayaka, not now..." Hitomi interrupted without even looking at back at her. "We are running an international group of companies... I don't have time for minor distractions..."

"Minor distractions? You know she isn't just--"

"I know she shouldn't be. But to the thousands of people working for us, their families, our clients, our investors... They've put their trust in us..." Hitomi sighed. "... I have no time for that now... You should know that, you, being the more conscientious of us two..."

"Didn't you even take precautions to make sure that she doesn't leave the country?" Ayaka took the seat beside the stack of folders. "It will be harder to find her if she leaves the country.."

"I have used the influence of this company far enough... I can't be irresponsible now. Finding her... isn't the most important thing now..."

Ayaka looked at Hitomi's face and the absence of emotion scared her. Even more than the paleness of her skin and the sulleness of her eyes.

"Just think: ten thousand people to one, Ayaka... That makes decision making a whole lot easier..."

UPDATE!!!!

On the elevator, Miki tugged Aya's sleeve. "You want to meet with Yocchan alone, right?"

Aya turned to her with a puzzled look. "Not really... you guys can--"

"leave you guys, alone, right? RIGHT?"

"Ah, yeah... alone." Aya poked Miki's side with her elbow.

Miki didn't say anything else, satisfied with Aya's concession.

"Mikitty, if you want to talk to Ayaka and me privately, you just have to tell us..." Mai said with a chuckle.

"Oh, no no no no... Aya and Yocchan HAVE to talk privately... just them two... so you and Ayaka will have to accommodate me."

"Whatever you said..."

~

Mai led the two to the president office. Aya and Miki walked side by side.

"Oi, Ms. Matsuura. Why don't you ever hold my hand when we're walking like this?"

"... ... I don't?... I think, except today... I do..."

"No you don't.."

"I do"

"You don't"

"You don't notice it but I DO"

"It's my hand we're talking about here, of course I would notice if you touched it... even more so, held it"

Aya grabs Miki's hand as the continued walking. "There. Happy?"

Miki just grinned that she just made Aya do something again.

President or not.

"Oi, little children. We are at an executive office, try to fit in." Mai said to them without turning to face them.

"Hai, sensei~" The two said playfully, like children in kindergarten. They swung their joined hands forward then back, and again.

"Miki, before we leave Yoshiko and Ayaya to themselves, say hi to Yoshiko first."

Miki just nodded as Mai pushed the doors open.

~

Miki slapped Hitomi's arm. "OI, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?!"

"Just missed some meals..." Hitomi replied, nonchalantly.

"THAT IS NOT THE FACE OF A HUNGRY PERSON, EVEN A STARVING PERSON!!"

"Can you not shout in here?"

"Fine... If i can't shout in here, I'll shout elsewhere... Me, Ayaka and Mai will be leaving you and Aya alone now so you guys can talk privately..." Miki answered as she pulled Mai and Ayaka by their elbows.

Ayaka looked confused. She didn't know of the arrangement Mik--, no, AYA wanted. Mai just signalled to her to just go with the flow.

As soon as the doors closed, Hitomi turned to Aya. "What was THAT?"

"Beats me..." Aya shrugged.

"So... what do we have to talk about that is so private we have to talk alone?"

"Uh... We have something to talk about?"

"Isn't that what Miki just said?"

"I have no idea..."

The two just stared at each other, both confused.

"Ayaya, you have one strange woman with you. Be careful!"

The two burst into laughter. A nice contrast to the tense environment in this very same office earlier.

~

"What was THAT about, Miki?" Mai asked as she closed her office door.

"I wanted to talk to the two of you first before doing anything else."

"What about?"

"I saw Ishikawa at the airport today."

Seems pretty obvious that Miki wanted "out" of the meeting between Aya and Yossi (being one of Aya's top people, it would have been pretty normal to expect her to take part in it).  Question now is...why?

Okay... so the radioshow had to be cancelled last night because someone was being... RAWR!

i'm still so pissed after 12 hours...

anyway, really short UPDATE!!

UPDATE!

"I saw Ishikawa at the airport today"

The two haven’t even seated themselves when Miki told them what this was all about. Miki couldn't read the look on the faces of Hitomi's confidantes.

"Are you sure it's her?" The two asked in unison.

"She drank tea and I drank coffee. I KNOW it's her." Miki paused awhile for some verbal response from either Mai or Ayaka. But neither said anything, as if they were waiting for more. "We didn't really talk... just sat together at a coffee shop in the airport... ... that's all..."

"And you didn't drag her back here?!" Mai flared up.

"Hey, I didn't even expect to see her there. She looked like she was in a hurry and well, there was something she said..."

The two looked at her intently, as if they were desperate to hear anything from or about Rika.

Absolutely anything.

“She said Yocchan deserves someone else… Then she just walked away.”

“You let her!”

Ayaka held Mai down with a hand on the latter’s shoulder. “Mai, calm down. Miki, I know you would have a reason to just let her go like that…”

“Nothing really… I didn’t really see a reason for me to stop her anyway…”

“NOTHING?!” Mai forcefully pushed Ayaka’s hand off her shoulder. “You know she is Yoshiko’s! You know that she suddenly left! You know—“

“But that’s no reason for me to stop her. She’s there because she has chosen to do so. She wants to leave, who am I to stop her?”

“You’re Yoshiko’s friend!”

“Well, she didn’t seem to have taken the proper precautions, almost like letting Rika leave. If I were her, I’d call all airlines and have Rika taken out of the passenger list, I would’ve gotten a hold-departure order issued--”

“That’s because…” The doors suddenly opened and Hitomi, assisted by Aya entered the room. “Those aren’t necessary…”

Not necessary? Oooooooooooooooooooh...don't tell me Yossi actually DID have something in the works, and just kept it to herself so that no one (not even Mai and Ayaka) knew about it? :o

In all fairness to Miki, she really didn't have any reason to try and stop Rika, considering she and Aya had absolutely NO idea about what was going on. And to paraphrase what she said, under similar circumstances, Yossi's the type to take control and use her connections to make things happen (or not happen). The fact that she didn't would have (at the time) been a sign to Miki that there wasn't really anything wrong, or that Yossi didn't intend to do anything to begin with.

You know despite me having wanted Miki to pick Rika up and carry her to Yossie she does have a point. It's not really her job to stop Rika. It's Yossie's. Yossie has been making herself sick over this but she hasn't actually you know went looking for Rika. She shoulda done the whole airport thinging knowing Rika would probably want to go back to Japan.

Still I don't blame her that much since I'm sure she was love sick and wasn't thinking straight.
