Sorry mate. I've searched all over for you but the consensus seems to be that you'll have to replace your controller. Before you do though, stick it into each of the USB slots (2 in front 1 in back) and see if it works. If not, then you'll have to get a new one.

Microsoft Support - Controller not working

I know how annoying it is cause I had to get a new one too. Didn't have the same problem as you but it just reached a point where it wouldn't work at all. And having to buy a new wired one is tougher than expected because most shops I go into only sell wireless. But I don't wireless, it costs more, have to recharge batteries and the space between me and my 360 is only a few feet.

Thanks Tuffty!
I didn't know there's another USB port on the back, I only tested the front two, I'll try that tomorrow though. Too lazy now.

I'm like you, I don't  like wireless controllers for all the recharching and I have this strange idea that electronic stuff only is save when it's connected by cables, the only things at my home allowed to work wireless are the tv remote and cellphone ;-)

Luckily I found the wireless controller that originally came with the console and it even had charged batteries in it (thought I'd removed them, cause I haven't used it for ages)

Summer of Arcade dated

Quote
Microsoft has dated this year's Xbox Live Summer of Arcade flock.

The first game to arrive will be Limbo on 21st July. This is the black and white, film noir-style "snooty platform puzzler" that Eurogamer tested back in March.

Rocket-powered speedboat game Hydro Thunder Hurricane will be second on 28th July. The obvious lures here are local races for four people and online tussles for eight.

Third will be Castlevania: Harmony of Despair on 4th August. Married here are classic 2D platforming with six-player online co-op. And if working together gets boring, you can murder each other to the death.

Penultimate arrival will be Monday Night Combat on 11th August. This game is what might happen should American Football no longer use a football, but guns, and no longer bother with rules. Cash rules, literally.

Co-operative action adventure Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will round off the Summer of Arcade on 18th August.

Buy three or more of the Summer of Arcade games and Microsoft will refund 400 of your Microsoft Points.

Official Site

Looking forward to Castlevania, and heard some good things about the Lara Croft game too so bring it on!

Kinect UK pricing confirmed - £129.99

Quote
Kinect will cost £129.99/€149.99, and come bundled with launch title Kinect Adventures, Microsoft has confirmed.

"We obviously don't make pricing decisions without doing our research," Xbox product director Aaron Greenberg told Eurogamer in an interview published elsewhere on the site.

"We've done a number of pricing studies on a global scale across a whole variety of audience segments. We've found that when we talked to consumers about the different types of experiences you get with Kinect, the sensor with the full game at £129.99 does quite well.

"There will be a whole new wave of consumers looking for all new ways to experience games and entertainment. To be able to do that with the console plus the sensor and the game at that value is pretty unprecedented."

Microsoft also revealed a new Xbox 360 4GB model, to be launched in the UK on 20th August, priced £149.99/€199.99.

The Xbox 360 4GB plus the Kinect sensor and Kinect Adventures will be available as a bundle for £249.99/€299.99 when Kinect launches in the UK this November.

Link

Is there really anything on Kinect that will make it worth the purchase when its released? There is Child of Eden, but other than that?

It's too steep for what seems like something that's aimed purely at the casual market. Not one for me either as I haven't seen many proper games beyond the party/mini-game collection type coming out for Kinect and the price point now is too high to even satisfy my curiosity. Seems weird that they're selling party games for £49.99 when the Wii can do it for £19.99. They're overestimating on the casual market's acceptance heavily here, after all they're essentially marketing the same thing as the Wii only with shinier graphics.

So I guess people who followed E3 will know about this already, but I'm kind of slow and just found out about this the other day. It looks so good! :O The atmosphere of it seems really interesting. Those huge spider things seriously creep me out :nervous

It's released on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow~

I think MS is out of their mind to release Kinect at that price, I mean, just a little more and you can buy a Wii and even the PS3 Move is a lot cheaper.

About Limbo, it looks really good. I'm sad I don't have my 360 anymore. I'll just have to hope it comes to PC or PS3 one day.

I think it was originally announced for all 3 but it looks like it's MS published now so I doubt it will. At least for a while.

Limbo looks pretty awesome. Reminds me of some of the flash games like Coma. But there's no way I'm buying it for 1200 points because I'm a cheap bastard like that. :P2

Remember, Braid was a 360 exclusive for a time until it got released to the PS3. Could be just a matter of waiting.

I would get it except I have many other games to tackle at the moment. And I'm not as intrigued enough to justify spending 1200 points on something widely regarded as a 6hr max game. Not that I think it's wrong, those 6hrs or so could be the best I have in a long time and the price would be justified, I'm just not so keen on the game itself.

I didn't know they canceled 1 vs 100 on XBL. I know my friends were looking forward to the comeback.  :sweatdrop:

I thought 1 vs 100 was seasonal.  Maybe season 3 coming soon?

Microsoft is preparing to launch a revision of the regular Xbox 360 controller featuring a new directional pad, according to a report.

Citing an unnamed source, Joystiq has said that the new d-pad will rise up about a quarter of an inch if you rotate it 90 degrees.

The raised d-pad could be aimed at fighting game fans, the blog speculated.

Oh please, if true, then I think the 360 controller would be my favourite ever.

And while it's nothing drastic, the subscription cost to Xbox Live is set to increase

Let me go ahead and pay for next year's live now so I don't have to pay for that extra 10 bucks.

Seems pricey. Guess I have no choice but to wait and see if I'm willing to splash some cash on it.

Is there any way to preview gamerpics before you buy a picture pack on XBL???
Like is there a internet site that shows what pictures are contained in each pack?
Or do I always have to buy in hopes that I will like what I will get? XD

mmm I don't know of one coachie D:

The only way I can ever tell is sometimes on the description the picture will be all 5 or so gamerpictures that you will get, but I don't know if every company does that, plus sometimes they don't look the same as the picture because they put a filter over the picture so they're all sepia tone or something, but the actual pics don't look like that.

This is why I'm happy when games give you them for free sometimes
