At the end of the 5/9 Dokimiki Night, Miki called her Ishikawa Norika.

In the last two BBL's, Rika's mentioned how much smoother the shows are going, saying she doesn't worry so much anymore about sending the conversation to another person. She feels like Erika especially, and to some degree Yui, have gotten a little bit more confident in their opinions. Also, in the 5/8 episode, she gave some good celebrity advice: you (Erika) may not be good at impressions, but since you're not an impersonator, that's fine. The important thing is to carry it through, and not stop in the middle.

I wrote BBL, asking them just how to write 美勇伝 in romaji. Hopefully they'll answer. (If you want to write, you can use this page; just select BBL from the list.)

I'm thinking she'll say comething like "'B' as in 'Baby!!'" or "'V' as in 'Victory!!'" Or maybe she'll point to the version on the latest single as the correct one. That wouldn't make me very happy though. VUDEN and V-U-DEN are about as hard to figure out as ZYX.

Didn't Rika do an episode of ChanCharmy with Hiroshi as a guest? If someone has that, I'd love it if they'd share. Or at least tell me the date, so I can look for myself. I ask because I was checking the show's official site, and it says that they're coming up on another Guest Week. (The same occasion that gave us ChanCharmy w/Yossi.)

I will post Blend Kiss when I have bandwidth to spare, that is if no one beats me to it.

I listened to several radio shows today, starting with Young Town. In my opinion, Young Town sucks as an H!P show. Of course, it's not, but still. It's Akashiya Sanma's show, and he has two H!P girls in the booth with him laughing at his jokes. I decided to listen to one (2005-05-21) in full, and I fell asleep around halfway through. But I woke up a few minutes later when they were talking about what Mikitty and Aichan wanted as a souvenir from Sanma's trip to New York. The H!P-ness of it picked up while Sanma was taking a crap - It's like they're awed by his amazing, plentiful teeth.

Aichan's cute in it, though, but you wouldn't know that it was the same Aichan that filled in for Rika and Miki on their shows. She barely talks, but her little responses are sweet. Miki's a bit pouty.

Then again, at the end he gives them homework: watch three adult videos in the next week.

Aichan: "How are we meant to rent them?"
Sanma: "You can get them at hotels, you know."
Aichan: "Oh, you mean the pay channels? I once pressed that button by mistake."
Sanma: "By mistake? There's no way you could press that button by mistake."
Aichan: "But I wasn't used to hotels, not having been much..."

It's almost enough to make me want to listen to the 5/28 episode to see if they followed up on it. And just for confirmation, it takes someone who can't read Japanese (i.e. me, two years ago) to press that button by mistake. Not that I regretted it...

In BBL#9, I got the feeling again that Rika was doing her best to bring the other two, especially Yui, out of their shells. Yui has bad pronunciation, but Erika's coming along nicely. One incident in particular: Erika "sticks the post" with Ai no Imi wo Oshiete (radio slang: talking over the instrumental intro to a song, stopping exactly where the vocals come in).

I also listened today to the 5/27 Hello Pro Yanen with Yuko and Mai Satoda hosting. They got a letter about "Which H!P member seems like she'll get married the soonest?" Apparently, a bunch of members told Yuko that she's got to be the one to get married first, if only for the age thing. Maki in particular has told Yuko, "Please, get married soon!" It seems someone showed ehr how the Love Machine cover picture not only applies to the order members graduate, it also shows the order they'll get married, and it seems Yuko's got to go before Maki can get hers. It also seems that the 6/10 broadcast (they're skipping a week for baseball, I think) will be hosted by Morning Musume. As in, the whole group...? Oh, and Yuko sticks the same post as Erika.

Here's Blend Kiss 5/29. Since I forgot to download 5/22, I mis-numbered the 5/29 episode: it should be #52. I'll edit in the 5/22 episode in a bit, once I get it uploaded. They started a new corner in #50 where Ayaka gets two minutes to talk after Mai goes off to do Nekketsu Country Gakuen, called Ayaka's Two-Minute Corner. I haven't listened to 5/22 yet, but Ayaka speaks English in the 5/29 ep, talking about how dirty Mai's house is. Ayaka doesn't do a good job doing radio in English there, though she does OK in Hello! Music Latte.

I had a check 'round the Hello Pro Yanen web page. 6/3's show is cancelled due to a live soccer broadcast (not baseball), and the June hosts are Yossi, Risa, and Sayummy. What a combo.
