Anti-Abortion religious group "forcible" tactics?
« on: July 12, 2008, 12:14:34 AM »
Just outside my university there is a religious anti-abortion group was holding up graphic signs of dismembered fetuses on the side of a major road. There was absolutely no way to avoid seeing them. I mean, anyone who drives down this road is unknowingly forced to look at these graphic images, children included. Whether you are pro-choice or pro-life, do you think this was appropriate?

Thoughts?

My 2 cents:
I imagine it's legal but in poor taste.

There are many other ways to express one's views and positions than forcing them in another person's face.

I believe it's counter-productive, in fact pi$$ing the "audience" off and making them that much less receptive to any ideas one might be trying to convey.

If there's even one (1) child in the vicinity, then all bets are off!  Protect the children!!!

At least they were rid of in Hawaii due to strict anti-billboard laws.

Yeah it's true that there are many ways of presenting one's opinion or position but forcing them on someone else....isn't that what religion is all about anyways. So to be fair religious anti-abortion groups have the right to protest in that way since it's part of their of their teachings .

It's kinda funny that these people are pro-life since they would not hesitate to kill me for mocking them :w00t:.
I LOL at them.

If only...

^ Haha you seem to have a really narrow view on religion, and it's actually starting to irritate even me. I don't know what they did to you, but could you atleast have some respect for the ones that did nothing to you? ;P

Anyways, those crazy nuts that go to my university and do crap like that really annoy me.  I just feel like telling them, "See you in hell, asshole." Because doing things like that actually go against some teachings of the bible. What ever happened to, "What would Jesus do?" He didn't go around yelling at people, but went around and actually showed love and respect for everyone.

This is all coming from a guy who doesn't actually believe in any religion btw.

But yeah, they never have gone as far as what they're doing there though. Religion with the absence of logical thinking is a horrible mix
