They're barefoot because the set is supposed to be like the living room of a house. Japanese don't wear shoes indoors, so that carries over into certain sets, and when they're in green rooms and such. Sexy Otona Jan probably didn't take off their shoes because it was too much hassle. And makoto is always doing wierd things, it makes her interesting.
