And Saburo, if you think that "UFA isn't pleasing the peeps at NHK", I wonder why NHK decided to have Takahashi Ai in the starring role of a drama then...

All the more reason to give MM the obligatory nod.  It just doesn't fit.

Damn kouhaku.  they aren't as popular anyway, back then they have around 70% ratings, but the ratings have gone way down since then.

But still,....  H!P not being on kouhaku does say something about their current popularity, doesn't it? having to break a 10 year tradition...
but u know what they say, after the storm, there's the clear blue sky...
If MoMusu/H!P endures and work towards towards their music and building up their popularity, they'll be rewarded for their effort. most definitely.
There's a bright future ahead (hopefully)
meanwhile, they have us.... the loyal fans.

MoMusu or any H!P artist/group not being on Kouhaku is not their fault, just the kouhaku staff...   btw, I'd only watch H!P perf mostly, but I do check out the rest of the show as well...  not that entertaining.  since there's no H!P this year, I might as well skip the entire thing.  none of this year artist/group interest me anyway.

Do they still have that show where they hypnotized Rika to not being scared of chickens and where they did the cloth-pulling trick a few years back? :D

Unnan, on Jan 1st.  They seemed to own that show at one time but I don't even know if they were on it at all the last 2 years, if they were I never saw any clips.

one of the main factors in being invited to kouhaku is record sales, so its actually a surprise that h!p acts made it the last couple years imo.

i'm surprised people are so butthurt about this...

Considering RB was MM's highest selling single (besides KT which was a grad single) since IJ, it is a little dodgy they didn't make it this year and yet Mikan got em' there last year that's from memory anyway

The thing that "upsets" me the most about this is how upset the MM girls would be for being the ones to not make it... Can't help but think Ai will be blaming herself deep down :(
Ah poo at all the Japanese shows not wanting you girls, we crazy Westerners want you

The only hope is they'll take part in an Aku Yuu tribute.  There was a tribute to Zard last year at half time and it wasn't part of the whole "contest" thing.

Although it is disappointing, after thinking about it I would rather have them not appear on Kouhaku...if they were on the list they'd probably just be given another doinky medley or have to sing Love Machine again. -_- I think the Kouhaku people just don't want to bother themselves with large idol groups, since AKB48 was left out this year too and they had good sales with Oogoe Diamond...

I would prefer to see more time and effort being put into the promotion of MoMusu, Berryz and C-ute next year since UFA would probably have more resources to do so after the Elder Club leaves. Getting Ai-chan a starring role in a drama, even if it is an NHK drama, is a good start. In a perfect world I would want to see them appear on the mainstream music shows (MSta, Utaban, Hey! Hey! Hey!...) as well but I kind of doubt that that would happen nowadays...

This is so shocking news. :(

Note: the quoted text says the child died on July 27th and the laying of the ashes was in September.

OMG! That's so shocking, poor Kaori
I hope for pure happiness for her and her husband from now on :(

I'm glad she took the time to adjust (as much one can when their baby passes away) before announcing to the public.
