The LittleBigPlanet Thread
« on: November 18, 2008, 11:38:08 PM »
Think this game deserves it's own thread, since it encourages creating and sharing.

So far I've only got 100% items in 2 levels. I suck.

Started using 2 controllers to simulate 2 players for getting the 2-player items.  :P
And already made my first level, a really short 'death-lag friendly' competitive race course.

Been hard working on my 2nd level, which is a 1-player platformer with a vehicle. It's still way too short right now and only feels like half a level. And the stage pieces seem to drop off/destroy themselves all the time (which is really painful to rebuild).
But I have a nice idea for this vehicle. and I hope the level will be fun too, when it comes out sometime in 2010.

YES!! I LOVE THIS GAME!! :)

I'm about near the fourth level..gotta get 100% on that one level on level 1 when that bridge collapses(have to put a shoe somewhere to make sure you don't fall.) It's an awesome game!

Sackboy is my new friend! :)

Ok, I heard so much about this game. Saw the review on tv and everything. Everyone mentions the user generated content and sharing.. but what is the goal of the game? What do you do? What is the story? Seriously, I don't know.

It's a traditional platformer (like mario). And the goal is simply to get to start to finish without dying too much (um...) By jumping and holding on to things a lot. And to collect all the items hidden in each level.
It only has a few quotes here and there for the story, so it's forgettable.
What makes it stand out are the tools it gives for creating levels, and the ability for 1-4 players to create and play the story and user created levels online.

Thanks for clearing that up  From what I've seen it looks like a very cool game and I hope I can try it out within the near future.

Just bought the Metal Gear level and costume set. Yay!
Those 2 PSN cards I got 2 days ago couldn't have been bought at a better time.

Wonder if they'll make an FF7 and Street Fighter 2 level too. That would be crazy cute. :P

Ah how did I overlook this thread? One helluva game indeed, and still got a fairway to go to finishing it. Buying a fourth pad will actually be needed to get 100% which is slightly annoying but there ya go. Only managed 100% on about ten levels so far and the ones I haven't done it with...well I've attempted it but obviously suck too much to finish it.

I haven't even bothered making anything proper yet as I wanted to get hold of as many items as possible first, I think that as soon as I got the airship though that was enough there and then!

Oh Nooooes. LBP glitch from the MGS Level pack:
http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/lbp/board/message?board.id=pod&thread.id=20255

I tried a few levels and turned off, then on the system again. I couldn't see any problems for the stages I played like those guys.
But I haven't tried updating/publishing my stages. So I don't know if I have any problems like them.
But it's pretty sad if anyone loses saved data.

So you guys might want to hold out on getting the level pack till after new years, when MM checks the glitch and gets a fix out.
it's a shame. I really liked the gameplay. And loved the paintinator.

Same here. Played all the MGS levels and it's still fine.
I even published my 2nd level with half the stuff from the add-on. So that isn't the problem either.
(BTW. Search "Firerain Siege" and play it! it's a pretty long level though~)

Hope the other players get a fix soon.

I remember that that area was when it started getting harder to get the items. :P

I think I've only got 100% stuff for ~70% of the game.
Don't think I'll try getting more though. It's enough for making nice stages (= me lazy).
