She definitely looks great on this series. In 1 litre no namida she was cute. In Taiyou no Uta, she is just gorgeous. It's got to be the clothes and makeup. Regardless, she makes them look good.

I've always liked Erika but in this drama she looks even better then usually. somehow more like an adult instead of a child

Erika will release a single of the songs "Taiyou no Uta" and "Stay with me" as her character "Kaoru Amane" in Taiyou no Uta on August 30th! Personally I love Stay with me and am very happy it will be released.

Limited edition will include a DVD of an original video clip recording from the drama Taiyou no Uta and a special Taiyou no Uta photo book.

she did sing

but the guitar playing was rudimentary, judging from the same C chords

and the holding of her guitar. A good try though

I read somewhere that she took some guitar lessons while shooting. I doubt she plays in the drama based on watching her but I would assume she could play a bit. I didn't know she wears glasses! Awesomely cute!

As well as an upcoming single, she's also scheduled to have 5 movies this year. One that has already premiered earlier this year, and 4 more coming later this year. And I think she's going to have the leading role in a couple of them.
