Mechaike Academy [Ch. 4 - Second Thoughts]
« on: February 17, 2009, 11:08:18 PM »
Ok, so basically I had inspiration to write a longer chaptered story thank what I usually do. I'm not going to give away any information about the story; it's for you to find out :) I'm not quite sure where this story is going to go, but please support me :kneelbow:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A New Beginning

Eri’s heart raced wildly with each step that she took closer to her new school.
She was always bad with things like this. She had graduated from middle school before summer and now she was about to start high school. She was about to meet hundreds of new people and that thought made her shiver.
“O-Ok, deep breaths…” she chanted to herself while breathing in and out shakily. She nervously gripped the school bag in her hand.
“Ohayou, Eririn!” a voice squealed.
Eri froze for a moment but relaxed when she recognized who it was. Turning to face the on coming girl, she replied.
“Ohayou, Sayu.”
Coming to a stop from her small dash, Sayumi placed a hand on Eri’s shoulder.
“H-Honestly, making me run this early…in the morning...,” she panted.
“You’re still not any good at running, huh?”
“No, as you can see I became an Olympic runner,” Sayumi playfully remarked. Both girls laughed before joining hands and walking further into the school grounds together.
“So, how was your summer?”
“We were together basically the whole summer, how could you not know?” Eri replied back.
“Well, the last time we saw each other was Saturday! It’s been exactly 41 hours, 24 minutes and,” looking at the school clock, Sayumi continued, “56 seconds! A lot could have happened in that time!”
“You’re still as punctual as ever,” Eri commented.
No matter how many times Sayumi did it, it always amazed Eri at how on time the girl was. It’s like time would disappear if Sayumi didn’t know where it was.
“And to answer your question; nothing really happened. I just stayed in the house sleeping.”
“Ahh, that sounds like you. I was panicking to make sure I had everything ready for school. But, of course, I spent most of the time in front of a mirror,” Sayumi remarked brushing a hand through her hair.
“Hey,” Eri squinted her eyes and raised her finger to Sayumi’s face, “is that a blemish?”
“Where?!” Sayumi shrieked. Pulling out a huge mirror from her bag, Sayumi raised it in front of her face. She turned her head this way and that, desperately searching for any blemish. “Where is it?!”
Eri bit her lip, trying not to let a ssexy beast escape. She continued to walk ahead without the girl. Sayumi lowered the mirror.
“Kamei Eri!” she screamed. She began to chase after the girl but it was to no avail. The older girl was too fast.
“Ok, I give up. I don’t want to be all sweaty for my first class,” Sayumi breathed out.
Eri went back over to her best friend.
“Let’s go.”
She reached her hand out. Sayumi grabbed it and they finally got back to walking ahead. Prior to summer break, they had been shown around the school and they had been placed in classes so that confusion would be avoided on the first day. They had still to meet their class; all they knew was the class name that they were in.
But first, they had something to do.
Since this was an academy, they were going to live on campus. So, they needed to find out their rooming arrangements and then unpack.
“Where did they say that we had to ask to get our room numbers?” Eri asked her voice laced with forgetfulness.
“Over there, wasn’t it?” Sayumi pointed to a small building where new students were beginning to accumulate.
“We better hurry and get our rooms before it gets too crowded.”

“My name is Michishige Sayumi and this is Kamei Eri. Would you please tell us our room numbers?” Sayumi politely asked one of the girls seated behind a desk.
“Yes, just a minute please…” the girl typed and clicked before looking back up at the two. “You are both in room #356 in the Snow Dorm. Here are your keys.” The girl handed the keys over. “Welcome to Mechaike Academy.”
Sayumi and Eri took their keys before leaving the building. They both squealed excitedly.
“We get to room together!”
“The power of SayuEri prevails again!”
“Let’s go check out our room before classes!”
“Yeah!”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“That girl does possess magical powers, but it’s nothing compared to the reading we got 3 weeks ago,” a strong voice said. The owner brushed his short bangs out of his face.
“She sure is cute,” another voice replied but from an owner whose appearance was much different. His hair ran down past his shoulders, almost reaching his waist.
They both watched as two girls rushed towards their room in the school from the screen in front of them.
“Let’s go. We too don’t want to be late.”
“Hai.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After locating their luggage, Eri and Sayumi unpacked as much as they could before heading out to class. They removed their outside shoes as they reached the shoe lockers and slipped on their inside shoes.
“Sayu… I’m nervous,” Eri embarrassedly admitted as they stood outside of their homeroom.
“Me too, but we have to do this! Didn’t you say that you wanted to be less shy?” Sayumi asked.
“Well, yeah, but-“
“No buts, let’s go.”
Before Eri could protect anymore, Sayumi slid open the door and pulled Eri in behind her. Most people were busily chatting away, catching up with old friends.
Spotting two free seats next to each other near the back, Sayumi took Eri there and they both sat down.
“I’ll let you have the window seat since I know how much you love daydreaming,” Sayumi teased as she unpacked her school stuff and putting it in her desk.
“Thanks, Sayu,” Eri replied. She placed her bag onto her desk and she too began to settle herself in.
“…huh?” Eri breathed out. She desperately began to search in her bag.
“What’s wrong?” Sayumi asked.
“I can’t find it! I can’t find mum and dad’s picture!” Eri exclaimed frantically.
“Ehh? Are you sure?” Sayumi asked calmly in an attempt to get the other girl to calm down.
“It must be in our room,” Eri said. She stood up. “I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
“But Eri, class starts in 3 minutes,” Sayumi tried to reason. “We can both go back and get it at lunch.”
“If the teacher calls my name, tell them I’m here.”
Eri dashed out of the room.
“A-Ahh.” Sayumi reached out her arm to stop the girl but she was already gone.
“Well, maybe I should introduce myself to someone…” Sayu said to herself. She turned her towards the door at the sound of it opening. A smile burst out onto her face.
“Rei!”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eri quickly went down the stairs, missing every other step. People stared at her in bewilderment as she rushed by. Not even bothering to change her shoes, she raced out of the main school building towards her dorm which was at least 15 minutes away.
Taking a short cut, she ran through the small forest that lay next to the school.
It was all school property. Even though not everyone who lived in town went to the school, they were still able to continue on with their lives by running shops, getting jobs etc. This whole town was school property; right down to the last rock.
Jumping over roots and rocks, she beat away any bugs that got near her.
I’m nearly there, Mum, Dad. Wait for me.
Bursting out of the forest, Eri’s foot caught on tree root. She screamed as her foot was freed and she went hurtling forwards. Suddenly, a strong pair of arms caught her.
“Are you okay?”
Eri opened her eyes and was greeted with the sight of a guy.
Handsome…” Eri mumbled out loud. He raised an eyebrow questioningly. Her face flushed and her hands shot to her mouth.
“Are you okay?” he asked again, his eyes filled with worry.
Fearing that she would blurt out something embarrassing again, Eri replied with a small nod.
“Honestly, you should watch out.”
Eri leapt out of the arms and bowed deeply.
“I’m really sorry. Please forgive me!” she apologised.
“You don’t need to be so harsh, Ryou.”
“Well, she should.”
Eri raised her head. There were two handsome boys now.
I think that I’ll like high school…
Eri shook her head.
“Please forgive his rudeness; he is actually very kind,” the short haired boy said, “he just over reacts whenever he’s surprised.”
The taller boy let out a ‘hmph’ and turned his head away.
“Whatever.”
“U-Umm, excuse but I’m going to be late,” Eri stumbled out before again running.
Both boys watched her run away.
“Well someone has a crush.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Eri sighed out in relief as she grabbed the picture of her parents. It had been lying on her desk. She risked a glance at the clock and moaned. Class had already begun. Sliding the picture carefully into her pocket she dashed back to class. It was her first day and she late.

As she began to run she thought back to those two guys that she ran into. She blushed as she remembered the one that had caught her. Her heart pounded even harder. Then she annoyingly remembered that rude friend.
’Honestly, you should watch out.’, ‘Whatever.’” she imitated unhappily.
“What a rude guy!”
 Glancing at the school clock, she abandoned all thoughts and ran to her class.
Sliding open the door, she froze when everyone stared at her. Sayu gave a small wave.
“Are you a part of this class?” the teacher asked. Eri nodded.
“You are late, but I will let you off as it is the first day. Please try not to be late from now on.”
“Yes, I’m sorry.” Eri bowed before walking over to her seat. She was too embarrassed to look around. She kept her gaze locked on her desk, waiting for the teacher to speak.
“Ok, we shall now move onto introductions. Why don’t we start from here?” the teacher said gesturing to a person in the front. They stood up, introduced themselves and sat down. The class clapped. Then the person behind did exactly the same thing.
“My name is Takahashi Taiyou, 16 years old. I’ve only recently moved into this part of the country, so I’m still slightly unsure as to where everything is but I hope that we can get along. I’m in your care. It’s nice to meet all of you.” All of the girls’ eyes were glued to him, including Eri’s. He bowed and the class clapped.
That’s when Eri began to pay attention to something other than her desk. She began to goofily smile as she stared at Taiyou.
Takahashi Taiyou. What a beautiful name…
“My name is Niigaki Ryou. I have also moved into this area recently with Taiyou. I’m in your care. It’s nice to meet all of you.”
Eri’s eyes shot open. That voice…
She moved her eyes from Taiyou to the person behind him.
You’ve got to be kidding.
“Have you got a crush on both of them?” Sayu whispered teasingly to Eri, “you keep staring at them.”
“N-No, I ran into them earlier. Literally,” Eri replied.
“You have to tell me about this later!”
“My name is Tanaka Rei. I’m in your care. It’s nice to meet you.”
Eri’s attention shot to Rei. He sat down with his hands in his pockets, and gave off that strong but intimidating aura.
Ahh, Me, Sayu and Rei are all in the same class again!’ Eri happily thought.

Eri nervously stood up when it was her turn for introductions. She hated this much attention; it made her want to go hide somewhere. She licked her lips nervously before starting.
“M-My name is Kamei Eri. I-I’m 15 years old. My favourite food is umeboshi.” Her eyes shot to Taiyou and she immediately wished that they hadn’t.
“I-It’s nice to meet in your care!” she stumbled. Some people giggled.
 “I-I meaniminyourcareitsnicetomeetyou!”
She sat down in her chair and hung her head. Some people clapped while others snickered.
“Don’t laugh! Next!” Rei instructed. Eri shot a thankful look at him who nodded in return.
Eri looked over at Taiyou who gave her a reassuring smile. She shyly smiled back but it disappeared in seconds as she saw Ryou snickering. She turned her head away and stared out the window. A lone cloud drifted by peacefully.
“I’m your homeroom and Japanese teacher for this year. My name is Abe Natsumi. It’s nice to meet all of you and I hope that we can have a fun year.”
The final round of applause ended and Nacchi went straight to the next thing.
“Before we start the lesson, we must assign class positions. Is there anyone who would like to represent our class for student coun-“
The door suddenly slid open, the principal standing outside.
“May I speak with you for a minute, Abe-sensei?” he asked kindly.
“Ahh, of course.”
Nacchi walked out of the classroom and closed the door behind her. Less than a minute later she walked back in.
“Sorry about that. Continuing from where we left off, our student council representatives will be Takahashi Taiyou, Niigaki Ryou, Tanaka Rei and Michishige Sayumi. Are there any objections?” she asked.
Eri glanced over at Sayumi and saw a mixture of confusion and excitement on her face.
How can there be 4 representatives for one class?’ Eri thought to herself confused.
“Ok, that’s settled. Is there anyone who would like to be the health monitor?”
Nacchi looked around the room. A girl had her hand raised.
“Ah, thank-you Sachiko-san,” Nacchi thanked. “Since all homeroom items are now out of the way, we shall now proceed to your Japanese lesson.”
Eri let out a small sigh. School was really starting now.
I probably shouldn’t fall asleep in class anymore…
She stared intently at the board, copying down notes every time she needed to. It was halfway through the lesson when a yawn escaped her mouth. Resting her head on her hand she looked out the window. Her eyes began to slowly close.

Looking around her, Eri couldn’t recognize where she was. It was dark, cold, scary but most of all, painful. Pain was coursing through her body. But she immediately felt safe when a pair of arms wrapped around her. Her vision was blurry and all she could make out was the shape of a boy’s head looking down at her. She felt her body relax in his arms.
“Hey! You’re awake aren’t you? Say something!” he begged desperately. He shook Eri.  He rested his head on her shoulder.
“Anything…” he choked out in a nearly inaudible voice.
Eri lost all sight as her eyes closed.

Eri jolted awake from a piece of paper hitting her head. She looked around for the person from where it had come. She froze when her eyes connected with Ryou’s. He began to mouth words to her. Watching his lips, Eri put together the message:
Pay attention, idiot.
Eri shot a glare at him before turning her head away and holding her head up.
‘Hmph! What a jerk!’
Picking up the piece of paper which had hit her, she noticed that there was a message written on it:
I’m not a jerk! I can pay attention in class!
Immediately scrunching up the paper, an annoyed pout made its way onto her face. Looking at Sayu, Eri received a sweet smile. Eri grabbed her pencil and quickly drew a small table on a spare piece of paper.

Kind People/ Friends                                               Meanies

Sayu                                                                        Niigaki Ryou D:<
Rei

Eri uncomfortably shifted in her seat as she wrote Ryou’s name. Something about his name was bothering her. Ignoring the feeling, she tucked the list into her bag, and looked at the board. Nearly jumping out of her seat, Eri immediately began to take down all of the notes that she had missed.
'I hate that guy!'

One word:  GENIUS. Dude, I'm already hooked!!  :twothumbs

Oooo...more gender bending. Kind of.  Seems like they're just posing as guys... (Well, it's the first name changes (with the exclusion of Reina) that makes me think that.)  I can't wait to see what unfolds. *jumps up and down all giddy-like* (Yeah, I had a good day today, so that just added to me happiness. ^__^) Could that boy in Eri's dream possibly be...? :o

Ok, so I planned to have this chapter up last night, but it ended up taking longer than expected, so I'm posting it now...24 hours late... Forgive me :err:
I just finished writing this and I'm too lazy to re-read it for errors; I'll re-read it in the morning after some sleep ;___;
It's fairly long; especially the 4th section... please don't hurt any part of yourselves while reading this! I need to figure out a more reader friendly format.... :S But I don't wanna seperate all of the writing... And it might be even longer....

Vague Insight

“Is there something going on between you and those two guys?” Sayumi asked Eri.
“Ehh? No! What makes you think that?” Eri asked surprised.
“Well, you three keep looking at each other…”
“R-Really?” Eri replied giving a small laugh.
“I don’t like them at all.”
Both girls turned to see Rei facing them.
“That Taiyou guy is acting way too cool. But that Ryou guy just gives me the creeps, it’s like he’s hiding something,” he said shivering.
“That’s mean, Rei,” Sayu scolded while pouting.
“Hey, I’m just saying.”
“You better stay away from those guys, Eri. If they come anywhere near you I’ll beat the living daylights out of them,” Rei stated. Eri looked at him and she knew that he was serious; just like usual.
“Thank-you, Rei, but please don’t do that,” Eri kindly requested.
“But-“
Please?” Eri put on her best puppy dog eyes. Both she and Sayumi knew that Rei was actually a complete sucker for cute things despite his appearance.
A small blush appeared on his face and he turned his head away.
“F-Fine…”
“Thank-you!”
Sayumi hugged Rei and pulled his cheeks making him make a weird face.
“You really are a sucker for cute things, aren’t you?” She teased.
“Shut up!” Rei protested as he tried to escape Sayumi’s hold.
“Ne, what about me?”
“Get off!”
Eri sweat dropped as she watched her two best friends fight again. They had been like this for as long as she could remember…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eri cried as a group of kids her age circled her. They yelled insults at her, never once stopping their attack.
“HEY!” a young boy’s voice yelled above the rest. “Get away from her!”
The group of kids instantly dispersed; they knew exactly who it was. Eri buried her head deeper into her knees. She didn’t want anybody else to come near her.
“Are you okay?” a girl’s voice gently asked Eri.
Looking up shakily, Eri was face to face with a girl who was slightly younger than her.
“W-Who are you?” Eri asked. The younger girl’s face brightened up.
“My name is Michishige Sayumi; the number one cutest girl in the world!” Sayumi announced proudly.
“Yeah, in her world,” the boy’s voice retorted back.
Sayumi moved out of the way. Eri looked at the boy with big eyes.
“My name’s Tanaka Rei,” he said.
“What’s your name?” Sayumi excitedly asked. Eri looked at the girl surprised; no-one ever really wanted to know anything about her.
“Y-You’ll make fun of me…” Eri said.
“Why would we make fun of you?” Rei asked.
“Because everyone does…”
“We won’t, we promise. What’s your name?” Sayumi asked Eri again.
“K-Kamei Eri.”
“Kamei Eri? That’s such a cute name, and it goes with a cute face! Of course, I’m still cuter!” Sayu squealed.
“Ok, will you stop it with that already?!” Rei argued while glaring at Sayumi who glared back. Eri couldn’t help but giggle. Both of the glarer’s turned to look at her with a confused expression.
“What’s so funny?” Rei demanded.
“A-Ah! I’m sorry!” Eri immediately stopped laughing.
“You scared her, Rei!” Sayumi scolded.
“H-Hey, d-don’t cry!” Rei stuttered as he watched Eri’s eyes water up. “I didn’t mean it like that!”
Sayumi hugged Eri who froze in the embrace. More tears began to flow from her eyes. No-one had hugged her since her parents had been murdered. No-one had ever given her this much attention.
“Shh…It’s okay now. Those bullies are gone. We will protect you,” Sayumi quietly whispered into the crying girl’s ear.
The tears just kept flowing and flowing. Eri suddenly wrapped her arms around Sayumi pulling her closer; she didn’t want her to disappear.
It was nearly half an hour later when she finally stopped crying and was reduced to sniffling. Holding her hand, Sayumi helped Eri stand up.
“Let’s go play in the field!” Sayumi chirped. “Come on!”
“U-un,” Eri agreed.
“Let’s race! Go!” Sayumi shot off out of the room.
Eri and Rei watched the girl leave. Rei looked at Eri who blushed.
“Sorry… about yelling at you earlier. That’s the type of person I am…” Rei apologized.
Eri looked at him with watery eyes and he blushed.
“D-Don’t start crying again!” Rei begged. A few tears began to fall from her eyes. “Don’t cry… You look better when you smile…” Rei commented shyly. Eri hugged him and smiled.
“Thank-you, Rei,” Eri said. Rei’s face went completely red and he froze. They stood like that for several moments.
“So, you’re trying to steal Rei from me?”
Eri instantly separated from Rei and looked at Sayumi who was standing in the doorway smiling.
“T-That’s, no-“
“I’m just joking, Eririn,” Sayumi replied. Eri took a few seconds to register that Eririn meant her. A huge smile was plastered on her face.
“Now, let’s race to the field! That means you too, Rei!”
Sayumi dashed off again but this time two other’s were close behind her. They all laughed as they raced closer and closer to the field. Eri ran ahead of them and reached the field first. Sayumi and Rei reached her seconds later.
“Y-You’re really f-fast…” Sayumi gasped.
“I’m jealous…” Rei said.
Eri’s face flushed.
“N-No, I-“
“Let’s have another race! This time I’ll definitely win!” Rei declared.
“Ready, set…GO!” Sayu screamed while laughing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Eri smiled as she remembered that day. She had been friends with Sayu and Rei since then and she planned to be friends with them forever.
“Aww, you spoil sport,” Sayu complained as Rei escaped her grasp, “you’ll make me cry.”
“You’ll live,” Rei grunted.
“Hidoi…” Sayumi mumbled.
Kyaa~!
The three musketeers were brought out of their own world at the sound of girls squealing in excitement. The girls from other classes were looking into the room.
“What are their names? They’re so cool!”
“Takahashi-sama is mine!”
“Niigaki-sama’s hair is amazing! It’s so long!”
Looking over at the two causing all of the trouble, Eri was drawn in by Taiyou’s presence. He was holding a girl that must have run into the other girl that Ryou was holding.
“Are you okay?” they both asked the girls. Both girls could only blush immensely and nod.
“Be more careful in the future, okay?” Ryou said sweetly with a charming smile. The girl nearly fainted.
Standing the girls back up, Ryou and Taiyou picked up the scattered papers and handed them back.
“Thank-you! We’ll be more careful in the future!” they exclaimed before scampering off.
“Ugh, this is giving me a headache,” Rei sighed out. He walked over to all of the girls looking into the room. He placed his hand underneath one of the girls’ chins.
“Be a good girl and scamper back to class, okay?” he ordered in a sultry voice.
“H-Hai!”
“Take all of your friends with you as well,” Rei added implying all of the girls.
The girl immediately got to work and removed all of the girls. Rei sat down in the seat next to Eri.
“Man, they are so troublesome.”
“But you love the attention,” Sayumi acknowledged.
“Well, what can I say?” Rei remarked with a smile.
“You sure know how to work girls, don’t you?” Ryou’s voice suddenly spoke. Rei looked at him.
“Seems like it applies to you as well,” Rei said.
“Well, I don’t have two girlfriends,” Ryou commented looking at Sayumi and Eri.
“We’re not his girlfriends,” Sayumi stated.
“Maids at least.”
“We’re his friends; nothing more, nothing less,” Eri explained in a mono-tone voice. Ryou watched as Rei winced at Eri’s comment.
“If you say so, princess. I look forward to working with all of you,” Ryou said before returning to Taiyou.
“I hate that guy,” Rei mumbled.
“Well, there’s nothing you can do about that. We’re going to be in the same class with him for the entire year,” Sayumi said.
Eri opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by the bell ringing. Picking up her bag, she walked hand in hand with Sayumi to art class, Rei walking behind them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“My name is Yasuda Kei and I will be your art and music teacher for this year. I look forward to working with all of you.”
After request by Kei, everyone said their names.
“Ok, let’s start right away with your art lesson. We will be doing portraits,” Kei announced. A wave of moans swept through the class.
“Now, it’s okay if you’re not the best drawer, I myself am not good at drawing. All you need to pass my class is if you give your best effort. Since you probably don’t know everyone in your class that well, I will decide your pairs by drawing names out of a hat. This is so that you can learn about other classmates. But as we get further into the year I will begin to let you choose your own partners.”
Everyone nodded.
“What class is this again?” Kei forgetfully asked as she searched through many papers on her desk.
“Class Sky 1,” Taiyou said.
“Thank-you.” Kei picked up a spare attendance list for their class and cut it up. Placing the names into an old hat, she shook the names about and began to draw names.
Eri waited nervously for her name to be called out.
“Umm, Niigaki Ryou will be partnered with,” Kei pulled out another name, “Michishige Sayumi.”
Looking over at Sayumi, Eri noticed the smile that she was wearing.
Is she blushing? Uhuhu, I think Sayu has a crush on Ryou!’ Eri thought to herself.
She didn’t exactly agree with Sayumi’s choice but she would have to if she really did have a crush on the guy.
“Kamei Eri,” Kei said.
“H-Hai!”
“Will be paired with Takahashi Taiyou,” Kei finished.
Eri felt her face go warm. She looked at Taiyou who had already picked up his bag and was walking over to her. He sat down at the canvas in front of her and smiled. Eri gave an incredibly shy smile.
“Ok, start drawing your partners!” Kei instructed, “Try and use as much detail as possible. You have a double class so make the most of it!”
Everybody began to sketch their partner with the drawing pencils that lay on their canvas’. The sound a pencils scratching away filled the room.
“I’m lucky to have such a beautiful drawing partner,” Taiyou said as he looked up and down between Eri and his canvas. Eri found it hard to even look up at Taiyou, but she gathered up her courage and lifted her head. Her eyes met his and she froze. Taiyou smiled at her and kept sketching.
“You don’t need to be so scared; I don’t bite,” he said. Eri nodded. He casually laughed.
“Do you want me to draw your face like that?”
Eri instantly shot her head back down.
“Sorry…” she apologized.
“You don’t need to apologize.”
A silence followed. Eri looked up at him again.
“U-Umm, I-I-I’m a really bad drawer. I can’t even draw a cat…”
“Of course you can! It may not be what falls under ‘normal’ but that just makes it more interesting than the rest. I love things that aren’t normal.”
“B-But you’ll laugh at it…” Eri trailed off.
“It’ll make laugh…? I can’t wait for it then. I love laughing,” Taiyou admitted.
“H-Hai…”
Eri nervously began to sketch as best as she could. Even if one line was off she would erase it and try again. Her own heartbeat was echoing in her ears; she nervous about showing Taiyou her portrait of him.
“Once before this, I had to draw a portrait of Ryou,” Taiyou started, his pencil never stopping, “but it didn’t go so well. I ended up putting more effort and detail into the background rather than on him. He was so annoyed. He took one look at it and started flailing his arms about the place. He took the portrait and went to go throw it away but he tripped on his own laces and fell face first into the ground. The portrait was fine but I couldn’t really the same for Ryou.”
Eri watched Taiyou as he talked and was amazed at how happy and laid-back he looked. And with the morning sun spilling over him, he really seemed like a prince. Taiyou laughed.
“He looked like a bruised banana for a week.”
Eri laughed. She would have loved to have seen that.
“Ahh, just as I thought. You have a cute smile. I’m going to draw that,” he decided.
Eri’s smile disappeared and was replaced with a blush.
“It’s a really cute smile. Don’t be shy.”
Eri couldn’t help but somehow feel lower than Taiyou. He was so charming, handsome, kind; everything a girl wanted. She averted her gaze and looked around the room. Looking at Sayumi and Ryou, she realised that both of them were getting along well. They were even laughing and joking. Scanning around the rest of the room, Eri realised that the girls were either jealously glaring at her, Sayumi or the girl with Rei. But then again, most of the guys were jealous of Ryou. But that wasn’t a surprise. Sayumi and Rei had always been very popular. Eri was never given much attention.
I prefer not being noticed though…’ Eri thought in relief. Attention was never given to her in a good way. She shook her head, ridding her head of negative thoughts.
I wonder if Taiyou has a girlfriend? I wouldn’t be surprised if he did; he’s so popular,’ Eri curiously wondered.
“What’s wrong?”
Eri was brought out of her thoughts.
“E-Eh?”
“You’re really spacing out over there…”
“O-Oh, sorry. It’s nothing; I was just thinking…”
“Ahh, ok.”
Silence followed, Taiyou busily scratching away. Eri looked at him confused.
“U-Umm…” she started with an unsure voice.
“Yes?”
“You’re not going to ask what I was thinking about?” she questioned.
“Well, usually things like that aren’t my business. Of course, if you want to tell me then I am listening,” he explained.
He has such excellent manners!
“I-I was just wondering if Takahashi-san has a girlfriend,” Eri said. Taiyou looked up at her.
“A girlfriend? No, never.
“Really? I thought that you would’ve had one.”
“Why?” he asked genuinely surprised.
“Well, you’re really popular with the girls. You’re like a real-life prince! Any girl would be honoured to be your girlfriend!” Eri answered. Instantly realizing what she had said, she put her hands over her mouth in embarrassment. Taiyou let out a small laugh.
“You think so? Thank-you.”
“If you don’t mind me asking; why haven’t you had a girlfriend?” Eri carefully asked. Taiyou stopped sketching and tilted his head.
“I don’t know… I guess that none of the girls that I’ve met have ever interested me. I’m just waiting for that one girl I guess.”
Eri admired the way that he spoke. Something about his voice captured and held you. He smiled at her.
“No girl has ever interested me like you have though, Eri.”
Eri felt her heart skip a beat. Not only had her crush just told her that he had a potential interest in her, but he had just addressed her by her first name. Her face burned red.
“T-T-Thank-you, Takahashi-san.”
“Please, call me Taiyou,” he kindly requested. Eri nodded her head in acknowledgement, her bangs falling over her eyes.
“Ok, T-Taiyou-kun…” she embarrassedly stammered in a small voice.
Again, silence fell over the pair, but it was not uncomfortable. Relaxing, Eri felt her grip around the pencil loosen, and she began to draw more freely.
It’s still bad…’ Eri thought to herself scanning her drawing.
“Just draw what you see,” Taiyou said as if reading her thoughts.
“O-Okay…”
Eri stared intently at Taiyou, blushing as she inspected his face. Suddenly a flash of a tiger appeared over his heart.
What was that?’ Eri asked herself. She tried to get rid of the image of the tiger but she couldn’t. Starting her drawing a second time on a new piece of paper, she closed her eyes and began to draw.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Before they knew it, they only had a few minutes of art class left. Usually double classes dragged on and on, but for most of the students it flew by.
“Ok, the bell is going to ring in a few minutes, so I want each of you to show your partner your portrait of them. Remember, be nice!” Kei ordered.
Eri shifted nervously in her seat as she put down her pencil.
“Would you like to see the portrait?” Taiyou asked with a sweet smile.
“Yes!” Eri replied excitedly.
She got up from her stool and walked over to Taiyou who stood up. Eri began to walk to the front of the canvas as she had come from the back. Suddenly she felt hands over her eyes and she let out a small squeal of shock.
“It’s just me,” Taiyou reassured her. “No peeking, okay?”
Eri nodded and began to be led. She felt her heart beat speed up when all she could hear was the sound of her and Taiyou’s footsteps and whispering. She heard the scrapping of a stool against the ground and she felt Taiyou’s arms gently pushing her down onto it.
“Ready?” he asked. Again, Eri nodded. The room was dead silent. Taiyou removed his hand and Eri opened her eyes. A cloth was covering the canvas. He grabbed the cloth. The room seemed to take a huge breath. Eri anxiously clasped her hands together. Taiyou smiled before dragging off the cloth. Eri blinked. The she gasped along with many other classmates.
“I-It’s amazing…” she breathed out, “it looks so real…”
Taiyou embarrassedly laughed and scratched the back of his head, a small blush across his cheeks.
“R-Really? Thanks.”
“Ahh! That’s an amazing piece of artwork, Taiyou-kun!” Kei exclaimed.
“Thank-you, Yasuda-sensei.”
Other classmates began to compliment the drawing as well. The classroom quickly became noisy. Eri looked down at her lap, an odd feeling running through her. It was a mix of guilt and sadness.
Suddenly the bell rang. Eri immediately shot up, grabbed her stuff and ran off. She didn’t care where. It was recess so it didn’t matter. She just ran to wherever her legs would take her.

*gapes* AiEri!? TaiKame!? *grins at the thought* :wub: I can totally see that happening. Taiyou is really smooth talker...he probably doesn't realize it, though.  And I found Eri's flashback of herself, Sayu, and Rei cute. I wonder if Rei had a past crush on Eri; now THAT would be interesting. (Wait, what would happen if he has one now!?  :shocked) But where's the scene of Taiyou seeing his portrait? :P I bet he'd just smile and say thanks. *cough* Reference to Ura Utadoki *cough*

Looking good! I wanna see what's next!

EDIT: LOOK WHAT I FOUND WHILE READING MORE CAREFULLY.

“We’re his friends; nothing more, nothing less,” Eri explained in a mono-tone voice. Ryou watched as Rei winced at Eri’s comment.

COULD IT BE?! *is already looking too much into this* XD

Poor thing is scared her art skills might offend and embarrass Taiyou after seeing his work, huh?  :(

I'm surprised Eri didn't like Rei who saved her when they were kids. And does Sayu like him with that "So you're trying to steal Rei from me" quip? Or is she just being Sayu?

Awww I was hoping Ryou and Eri would be the ones paired up. But I guess Eri and Taiyou has to progress to the dating stage at least before she realises the one she really likes is Ryou right? *hopes*

A Race Of Pride?

Eri pushed open the door from building farther away from the main buildings. Rushing in, she tried to find the darkest and smallest corner before taking refuge in it. She took several shaky breaths.
“I was so rude towards Taiyou-kun…”
Eri turned herself around and lay against the wall. She let out a sigh of defeat. It wasn’t even half way through the first day and she had already gone back to her old ways. She had promised herself that she would change, but things are always easier said than done.
 Taking off her bag, Eri stood up. Placing her hands on the wall to make sure she wouldn’t trip, she began to grope her way through the darkness. She felt uneasy when she ran out of ledge to hold onto. She began to reach for the closest solid object. Hitting a switch and hearing whirring Eri let out a yelp of surprise and jumped back. Suddenly, light was projected, from the object that she had hit, upwards. Following the beams of light, Eri looked up and gasped.
“They’re beautiful…” she breathed out as she gazed at a recreation of the night sky. Finding a seat in the darkness, she continued to look up. Her eyes sparkled from the reflection of the stars. A shooting star passed. Closing her eyes and putting her hands together Eri began to wish.
I wonder what I should wish for…’ Eri ran through a small list in her mind before deciding on one.
“I wish-“
Hello?
Eri’s eyes shot open and her mouth shut at the sound of a boy’s voice.
“Is anyone in here? The door was wide open…”
Eri quickly but silently gathered her stuff and tried to find a way out.
“I guess no-one’s here…,” the boy commented out loud to himself.
He began to walk further into the building after closing the doors behind him. Eri sneaked behind the boy and tip-toed her way back the way that she had come in. Silently opening one of the doors she slid out of the building.
“Whew…,” Eri breathed out to herself once she got a fair distance away. She turned back to look at the run-down building for a few seconds before heading back into the main school area.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Would all student council members please report to the council building,” a woman’s voice announced on the school speakers. Eri lifted her head off of her hand and looked at Sayumi who stood up.
“Excuse us, Konno-sensei,” Taiyou apologized as he, Sayumi, Ryou and Rei all began to leave the room.
“I am leaving early today so I will give your homework to a fellow student. Please collect it from them later,” Konno informed.
“Hai.”
Taiyou slid the door shut.
“Ok, let’s continue,” Konno said as she turned to face the blackboard again.
Eri felt her heartbeat sped up slightly. She didn’t like being left with a group of people she didn’t know.
Sayu, Rei…’ Eri whimpered in her head like a little kid.
She nervously looked around the classroom, trying to search for anyone that looked friendly. Several of the girls looked friendly enough for Eri to befriend them for a class or two.
“Kamei-san!”
The voice of Konno brought Eri back from her constantly wondering thoughts.
“H-Hai?”
“Please stay behind after class,” Konno ordered. Eri blushed and nodded her head in shame.
“You really think that Taiyou-sama likes that ditz?” Eri overheard one girl say to her friend.
“There’s no way someone amazing like him would like a weirdo like her.”
“She’s trying to act all innocent.”
Eri bit her lip and kept her head down. This is what she feared every year more than anything. But she had lived with this ever since she was a child. Holding back tears that were threatening to overflow, Eri wished for class to end.
I’m so weak… I can’t do anything without Sayu or Rei…
She shook her head.
I can’t stay like this; I’m being a trouble to the both of them. I promised Sayu that I wouldn’t be a cry baby anymore.
Slipping her hand into her pocket, Eri calmed herself down as she thought of her parents. Eri almost felt as if their power was coming into her as she held the picture. Raising her head, Eri looked at the board raised her hand and answered the next question.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The sound of the bell ringing signalling dismissed the class from their double class of math. Eri packed away her things in her bag but remained seated as all of the other students left. Nervously fidgeting with the straps on her bag, Eri waited for Konno to talk to her.
“Kamei-san.”
“H-Hai!”
Eri let go of the strap and looked nervously at her.
“You don’t need to be so stiff, I don’t bite. Only food should be afraid of me. Things like mochi, lasagne, yakiniku, mont blanc’s…,” Konno trailed off, happily thinking about the food.
“Konno-sensei?”
“Oh! Sorry,” Konno apologized, “once I start talking about food then I sort of zone out.”
“Umm…”
“You’re probably wondering why you’re here right?” Konno asked smiling. Eri nodded in response.
“I want you to give these to the student council member’s.”
Konno handed Eri 4 sheets, the exact one that Eri had received during class.
“Ok,” Eri said as she took the papers. “Umm, if you don’t mind me asking; why did you pick me?”
Konno let out a small laugh.
“Well, you seem awfully shy, so I thought that maybe by giving these papers to other class members you might open up a bit more,” Konno explained.
“O-Ohh…”
“…Is that a bad idea?” Konno warily asked.
“N-No! It’s just that… well…,” Eri searched for the right words. Looking up at a grinning Konno, Eri blushed.
“So it’s like that, huh?”
“E-Ehh?”
“You like one of them,” Konno stated. Eri’s face went a shade darker. Analyzing Eri’s face, Konno smirked and raised an eyebrow.
“It’s Taiyou-kun, isn’t it?”
Eri’s went so red that it seemed like her whole body was blushing.
“N-No!” Eri protested unsuccessfully.
Konno laughed at the girl’s reaction.
“Don’t get so flustered about it. He’s a handsome guy,” Konno giggled.
Eri remained silent the blush never leaving her face.
“Well, good luck. You may go now,” Konno said excusing Eri.
Eri waited a moment before picking up her bag and bowing to Konno.
“Oh, one more thing Kamei-chan.”
“Eri turned around.
“Feel free to talk to me about anything. I want you to be comfortable with me. So if anything at all is bothering you, please, come to me,” Konno requested.
“Thank-you, Konno-sensei,” Eri said before bowing one more time and leaving. Konno smiled as she watched Eri run off.
What a cute girl.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Sayu, do you know where Taiyou-kun and Niigaki-san are?” Eri asked her best friend as they both sat underneath a tree overlooking the track as they ate their lunch.
“Takahashi-san and Ryou-kun? No, they disappeared after the Student Council meeting. You still need to give them the math homework?” Sayumi asked.
“Yeah…,”
Both girls took bites of their lunches. Eri had bought yakisoba-pan* and Sayumi had bought curry-pan*.
“You like Takahashi-san, don’t you?” Sayumi suddenly accused.
“Ehh?”
A noodle stuck to Eri’s flushed cheek.
“You heard me, silly,” Sayumi teased as she took the noodle from Eri’s cheek and ate it.
“U-Umm…”
“You do!”
“So, what if I do? You like Niigaki-san!” Eri fought back. It was Sayumi’s turn to blush.
“No, I don’t!”
“Yes, you do! I saw the way that you looked at him in art class; there were hearts in your eyes,” Eri stated.
“I did not look at Ryou-kun like that!”
“You even call him by his first name.”
“So? You call Takahashi-san by his first name!”
“T-That has nothing to do with this!”
Both girls glared at each other. Suddenly, they both burst out into laughter.
“Man, we’re idiots,” Sayumi said through gasps. Both girls began to calm down and breathe regularly again.
“I support you all the way, Eri. If you like Takahashi-san then I’ll make sure no-one else touches him.”
Sayumi smiled at Eri and held her hand and Eri returned the gesture.
“Same here, Sayu. I support you. If you like Niigaki-san then I’ll help you in any way I can.”
Several moments passed; the girls bursting with happiness. They were definitely friends forever.
“Oi, will you two stop acting all rabu-rabu again? It’s grossing me out.”
Both girls looked at the owner of the voice.
“Mou, way to go and ruin the mood, Rei.” Sayumi pouted.
“Well sorry,” Rei sarcastically apologized.
Eri burrowed in her bag quickly and pulled out a sheet. She held it out in front of Rei.
“It’s the math that you missed today,” Eri explained.
Rei took the sheet and scanned over it quickly.
“Algebra? I hate algebra!” Rei moaned.
“You hate math,” Eri said.
“Ugh, this is going to be a long year.”
“Don’t worry, Rei! I can help you with the math!” Sayumi exclaimed happily.
“Please don’t.”
“Ok, I’ll let you fail!”
“Please teach me, Michishige-sensei.”
“Oh?”
PLEASE.
“Well, since you asked….Ok!”
Save me…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“We will be your gym teachers for the next 3 years. My name is Yoshizawa Hitoshi.” Yossie bowed.
“My name is Fujimoto Miki.” Miki copied Yossie and bowed.
“Don’t they look like a couple?” Sayumi whispered to Eri while looking at the two teachers. Eri nodded.
“Since this is your first class with us we’ll start with some easy exercises,” Yossie announced.
“Please get into pairs and do a five minute warm-up. Don’t forget to stretch!” Miki added.
Sayumi and Eri instantly looked at each other.
“Partners,” they both said at the same time while smiling.
Both girls looked at Rei who was being swamped with girls.
“Will all of you go away?! I’m going to warm-up by myself, I don’t need any help!” Rei exclaimed at them.
“He’s so cool!”
“His muscles look kind of small…”
“Don’t doubt them! He’s as strong as an ox!”
Eri sweat dropped at the sight.
Poor Rei…
“Eri, look! I didn’t realise that Ryou-kun and Takahashi-san had come!” Sayumi squealed in excitement. Eri’s head immediately turned to look for Taiyou. Spotting him, Eri blushed. Girls who were fans of the two instantly began to rush over to them.
“Oi, get back to your warm-up’s!” Yossie yelled over the girls. They reluctantly backed away from the boys and began to stretch. Sayumi and Eri helped each other stretch. Eri reached her hand past her foot and she felt Sayumi gently pressing her back.
“All my muscles are so stiff. I’ve not really done any exercise over the summer holiday…” Eri said as she felt her muscles begin to loosen.
“Well, that’s to be expected,” Sayumi absent-mindedly replied.
Following her friend’s gaze, Eri realised that Sayumi was staring at Ryou. She smirked at her friend’s intensity. Standing up, Eri began to stretch the top half of her body. Gazing around her, Eri froze when she saw that Miki was staring at her. She quickly averted her gaze and continued to stretch. Risking another glance, Eri looked at Miki again. She got the shivers when she realised that the teacher was smirking at her. Turning around Eri could feel Miki’s eyes on her back. It was making her feel uncomfortable to say the least. Eri tapped Sayumi on the shoulder.
“Sayu...”
Sayumi kept staring at Ryou. Eri tapped her again, but harder.
“Sayu!”
Sayumi blinked and turned to face Eri.
“Huh?”
“You’re staring really intently at him,” Eri said. Sayumi blushed.
“Sorry…”
“It’s okay. That wasn’t what I was going to tell you…”
“Oh, what’s wrong?”
“That teacher,” Eri nodded her head in the direction of Miki, “keeps staring at me; it’s really creeping me out.”
“Fujimoto-sensei is? What are you talking about? She’s talking with Yoshizawa-sensei,” Sayumi commented confused.
Eri turned around and saw that what Sayumi had said was true.
“B-But she was! It was only thirty seconds ago!” Eri desperately explained.
“I believe you, Eri. I’ll keep an eye on her,” Sayumi declared.
“Thanks, Sayu…”
“Hey, it’s no problem.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Ok, that’s your five minutes up!” Yossie announced. The students stopped what they were doing and looked at her.
“We’re going to have a race. We will have four people race at one time. The winner from each of these goes to the semi-finals. The winners from these races will then go onto the finals where the last four will race for the title of fastest in this class. Remember, this is just for fun. Don’t stress yourselves about what position you come in. Just try your best,” she added.
“A race? But I suck at this!” Sayumi complained. Eri patted her on the back.
“Don’t worry Sayu, just try your best.”
“Ok, the first four to race are you, you, you and you,” Miki decided as she pointed to four random students. Eri felt her heart beat race when Miki pointed directly at her and gave her a wink.
“Get into your starting positions!” Yossie ordered. Eri quickly ran over to the starting line. Crouching down Eri placed her hands on the ground. She zoned out all sounds around her except for the sound of the countdown.
“On your marks, get set…”
The entire class fell silent. Suddenly Yossie fired the starting gun. All four racers immediately shot away from the starting line. Eri easily sailed past all of them and crossed the finishing line first. Stopping a few meters after crossing the line Eri gasped.
“I-I really need to work o-out.”
“Kamei-chan advances to the semi-finals!” Yossie announced.
“Good job, Eri!” Sayumi shouted.
“It’s the final race. Kamei, Niigaki, Takahashi, and Tanaka, prepare yourselves,” Yossie instructed the four students.
“There’s no way I can win against Eri,” Rei complained as he took his place.
“You’re really fast, Rei. You can beat me if you wanted,” Eri said as she took her place next to him.
“I try every time but I can’t. You’re too fast for me.”
Eri nervously laughed at Rei’s pessimism. Looking to her other side Eri felt herself jump.
“Good luck, Eri,” Taiyou wished gently.
“Y-You too.”
“Taiyou’s not lost any races in his life. Don’t get too hopeful,” Ryou suddenly remarked as he walked by Eri. He crouched down next to Taiyou.
“I wasn’t,” Eri spoke strongly.
“Ryou, don’t be like that. You’re just afraid that a girl might beat you, right?” Taiyou scolded. A light blush appeared on Ryou’s cheeks.
“What?! Of course not! I’ll beat her!” Ryou exclaimed.
“What if you don’t?”
“E-Eh?”
“How about this. If Eri beats you, then you apologize to her. If you win, then you don’t need to apologize. Deal?” Taiyou asked.
Ryou scrunched his eyebrows together and pouted his lips.
Kawaii…’ Eri noted to herself.
Wait. Did I just think that he was cute?!
“Deal,” Ryou agreed.
“Is that okay with you, Eri?”
“H-Hai.”
“We’re going to start now!” Miki shouted. All four racers stared intently at the ground.
“On your marks, get set…”
Silence.
Bang.
Rei, Eri, Taiyou and Ryou all shot away from the starting line at the same time. Ryou wore a smirk as he realised that he was in first place. He tried to resist looking back, but he couldn’t. He blinked as Taiyou suddenly rushed by him. Rei was slightly behind Ryou but Eri was nowhere to be in sight. Looking ahead of himself again, he stared in shock. Eri and Taiyou were racing head to head and there was only forty more metres to go. Ryou pushed himself and tried to catch up to the two, but he was no match for them. Instead of getting closer they only seemed to get further and further away. Then all of a sudden Eri ran ahead of Taiyou and put the rest of her energy into reaching the finish line.
“You can do it, Taiyou-sama!” a girl screamed.
“Ganbare!”
Soon everyone began cheering for Taiyou.
“You can do it, Eri!” a voice called out. It was Rei.
Suddenly everything went quiet. A few moments later comments like “it was close”, “you looked so cool when you were running” and “she must have cheated” began to arise. Ryou slowed after crossing the finishing line, panting for air.
“Kamei-chan is the winner!” Yossie declared as she ran over. There was a polite round of applause.
“Damn it, I can’t believe I lost to her,” Ryou muttered to himself in annoyance. He watched as Taiyou nudged his way through his crowd of supporters over to Eri who was only surrounded by Rei and Sayumi.
“Good race, you’re much faster than I thought. I’d be honoured if we could race again one day.”
Taiyou held out his hand which Eri gratefully accepted and shook.
“Thank-you; you’re really fast as well.”
 Taiyou let go of Eri’s hand and walked away and over to Ryou.
“Don’t look so down in the dumps. She beat both of us fair and square. You should be happy that you’ve found a new rival that isn’t me,” Taiyou pointed out. Ryou snorted.
“Now, you need to fill out your part of the deal. Go over there and apologize to her,” Taiyou ordered Ryou.
“Ok, that’s the end of class. Everyone go and get changed!” Miki yelled over the chatting. Quickly everyone began to disappear into the changing rooms. Ryou and Taiyou watched as Sayu helped Eri limp off of the track and towards the girls’ changing rooms. Miki and Yossie both rushed over to see what was wrong with Eri. After debating for a few second who should help the girl, Miki helped support Eri and helped her get closer to the changing rooms.
“Go and apologize now.”
Ryou stumbled a few steps forward from the push that Taiyou gave him. Taiyou smiled before heading towards the boys’ changing rooms. Ryou began to walk towards Eri reluctantly but froze when his eyes met hers. He arrogantly turned his head away and pretended that he wasn’t heading towards her. Ryou watched Eri out of the corner of his eye and instantly regretted acting so coldly. A pained expression passed over Eri’s face for only a moment and she began to limp away. Ryou guiltily unfolded his arms and slowly walked towards Eri.
“Eri…” he breathed out.
“Ryou-kun!”
Sayumi popped up in front of Ryou blocking his vision of Eri and Miki.
“Oh, it’s just you, Sayumi,” he said.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Sayumi puffed up her cheeks in a cute fashion.
“Nothing, you just startled me was all.”
“Oh, sorry…”
A couple of seconds passed.
“Good try. Me and Rei have never once been able to beat Eri in a race. Even on the day we first met her,” Sayumi said.
“…I-Is she okay?” Ryou shyly asked. Sayumi smiled.
“She’s fine. This is nothing to her. She’ll be fine by tomorrow, don’t worry about it,” Sayumi responded.
“I wasn’t worrying.”
“Oh…”
“Anyways, I don’t want to hold you back from getting changed. I’ll see you later,” Ryou politely spoke. He began to head away from Sayumi.
“Wait!”
Ryou stopped and turned around to face Sayumi who had run up to him.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“It’s nothing, I’m just tired from all of that running,” Ryou replied.
“Well, if anything’s wrong then come talk to me, okay?”
Ryou smiled charmingly at the girl.
“Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.”
Again, Ryou turned around and headed back to the boys’ changing rooms. Sayumi watched as he walked away. Ryou dreaded what was to come.
Ugh, how am I going to tell Taiyou that I didn’t apologize to that girl? Man, he’s gonna kill me!
Why does everyone like making fun of Eri? If I was her classmate, I'd be nicer to her than I am to anyone I know in real life. :lol: Konno-sensei and her food talk!!! :twothumbs Rei's such a catch~ I cracked up at the comment Sayu made about Fujimoto-sensei and Yoshizawa-sensei! XD Ooooh, Ryou got pwned by Eri! :grin: But he didn't apologize.....
:O Is this where the possible RyouKame begins? TaiyouKame looks like it's going strong, and ReiKame seems pretty subtle. I wonder just what it is you're really going for. :P And of course, we've got Miki-sama eying (<-- Is that how it's spelled?) her favorite turtle.
Y'know, I almost expected Rei to ask Eri to help him with stretches. XD Ever so subtly. But this is seriously getting really cute. :wub: Can't wait for chapter 4.
