^ The creative lead for AC3 has come out and openly said that the Tower Defence stuff from Revelations won't appear in this game. Just as well really, it wasn't a good implementation and might be ok if expanded out into it's own iOS game or something but I'm certainly not going to complain that they've left it out for AC3.
As I type this, I've just completed Revelations. I enjoyed it, but it was definately the weakest in the main series thus far. It's a harsh thing to say considering it's still a great game, but I definately felt the fatigue coming off AC2 and Brotherhood. Very little had changed and anything that was new here was only a miniscule adjustment in comparison. Also it just had the same problems (kinda dumb AI) and ones that were more prominent (screen tearing in cutscenes like a mofo, even loading up a map take a load screen to do) than in any other game. I think it ended poorly, it's actually just as well I read the novel beforehand because I would really be asking questions on what happened to Ezio afterwards.
But like I said, still a great game and it definately had it's moments. For some reason, the tagging the fragments complaint I issued earlier suddenly wasn't an issue after a certain point in the game. Really weird. I did like the way it handled the fragments when you reached past 50 or so, it just automatically adds the rest onto your map. It actually made me, for the first time, go out and collect them all. Granted it removes the challenge element of going out and finding them, and there is no reward to do so unless you want the achievement but still, least now I can say I can! Multiplayer is still as fun as ever too.
All in all, I may have felt the annual iteration fatigue with Revelations, but I still enjoyed it. And I simply cannot wait for AC3.
Arrivederci Ezio Auditore.
