Kitagawa Keiko to star in upcoming Fuji TV drama as a detective
April 30, 2015

It was announced that Kitagawa Keiko will be starring in upcoming Fuji TV drama 'Tantei no Tantei.'

This will be her first time to be the lead for a serial drama on Fuji TV.

"Tantei no Tantei ('Detective versus Detectives')" is a live-action adaptation of Matsuoka Keisuke's popular novel series of the same name.

In the drama, Kitagawa will play the female detective Sasaki Rena who is both beautiful and smart. She works for a medium-sized research agency called Suma Research Agency. Because of her past related to her sister's death, she became a detective that investigates and pursues unscrupulous detectives.

Reportedly, there will be hard action scenes, and Kitagawa is said to be taking kickboxing training in order to prepare. Also, according to Kitagawa who has read the script up to the 4th episode, "I haven't found a single smiling scene for me so far. This would be my first role in a serial drama that does not smile at all." She also said, "Since it's a very exciting role, I can't wait for filming to begin."

'Tantei no Tantei' will begin airing in July on Fuji TV (every Thursday at 10:00 pm).

Kitagawa Keiko & DAIGO reported to wed in January
October 8, 2015

Actress Kitagawa Keiko (29) and singer DAIGO (37) will be getting married in January.

According to sources, DAIGO proposed on the day after Kitagawa's birthday, August 23, immediately upon completion of the 100 km charity marathon for NTV's '24 Hour Television'. The actress was deeply moved and accepted the proposal.

The two met back in 2011 after DAIGO made a guest appearance on the first episode of Kitagawa's drama 'LADY ~Saigo no Hanzai Profile~'. While they kept in touch as friends, it wasn't until spring of 2014 when they started dating. Their relationship was first reported later that fall.

According to someone close to the couple, they are planning on submitting their marriage registration in mid-January. They had marriage in mind when they initially started dating. Kitagawa is not pregnant at this time.

On the day of the marathon, there were some reports stating that Kitagawa would be waiting for him at the finish line, but she was waiting elsewhere. After running 100 km, he headed straight to celebrate her 29th birthday.

Kitagawa's agency released a statement on the marriage reports saying, "Nothing has been decided yet."

Seems like a nice match, wish them much happiness!

I remember an interview he did with a then 14 year old
model, Ai Hashizume, who had suffered a complex for being
so tall (she is about six feet tall)- the interview with Daigo San was
great- he is very tall and he made Ai chan laugh and feel very comfortable.

However, Daigo san did butt heads with another female celebrity back in
January 2014.......

DAIGO comments on marriage rumors
October 13, 2015

Previously, it was reported that DAIGO and Kitagawa Keiko would be tying the knot this coming January.

On October 13, DAIGO made a live appearance on the TBS program 'Jouhou Live Vivit' where he commented on the marriage rumors. "One thing I can say about this matter is, 'SF'. Super flying. I was really surprised. When I woke up, I saw that I had received messages from many people saying 'Congratulations'," he said.

DAIGO added, "I think it should be announced when it has taken proper form. When that time comes, I want to announce it to all of my fans and also everyone in Japan." He then called out, "Please watch over me warmly." While he talked about how the reports had surprised him, he did not deny it.

Afterwards, DAIGO was asked many questions by program MCs Kokubun Taichi (TOKIO) and Terry Ito. Some reports mentioned that DAIGO and Kitagawa went out on a "shabu shabu date," to which DAIGO corrected, "It's not shabu shabu, but sukiyaki." Finally, he declared, "If something happens and it's something I should talk about, I won't run or hide!"

Likewise, Kitagawa wrote on her official blog a few days ago, "I am surprised. I'm in a situation where I don't have anything to say. I am frustrated that I have caused trouble like this."

On January 11th, Kitagawa Keiko and DAIGO announced on their official sites and blogs that they have submitted a marriage registration.

Kitagawa wrote, "It's private, but I would like to make an announcement. I, Kitagawa Keiko, have registered a marriage with DAIGO-san today on January 11th. In this year which I will become 30 years old, I am starting to walk toward a new life. In order to grow more as a human and as an actress, I will face with each role/work sincerely more than ever without forgetting my feeling of gratitude to everyone."

DAIGO also made the announcement, "Though this is private, I have submitted a marriage registration with Kitagawa Keiko-san who I've been dating today on January 11th. I always wanted to make this announcement properly by myself with my own word after we officially got married, so I am very happy to be able to finally tell you. I would like to make a fun with full of smiles, rock and 'wish' family with each other. While helping and supporting each other, I will also work harder than ever."

The couple met through TBS drama "LADY ~Saigo no Hanzai Profile~" that aired in 2011, and their relationship was first reported in 2014. Kitagawa Keiko and DAIGO hold a press conference for their marriage

Newlywed couple Kitagawa Keiko (29) and DAIGO (37), who just submitted their marriage registration on January 11, held a press conference the same day.

While receiving a flood of spotlight, Kitagawa showed a ring to the press, and the newlywed couple talked about how their romance began.

The couple first met through TBS drama "LADY ~Saigo no Hanzai Profile~", which aired in 2011, and they met again at the shooting for a variety show on January 11 of 2013.

There were many reports about the big couple's relationship and marriage, and some media outlets reported that DAIGO would propose to her after he ran 100 kilometers as a charity marathon runner for "24-Hour Television." 

Regarding the proposal, DAIGO said, "There was a report that I was planning to propose to her right after the 100 kilometer marathon. I have something to tell you. Please don't reveal my plans ahead of time," which brought a laughter among the press, and then he said, "...and it was just exactly right. I did give a ring and propose to her at the moment I got back from the 100 kilometer marathon." Kitagawa continued, "I did not expect him to propose, but he gave me an obvious-looking box. He then said it with his own alphabet way, which was 'KSK' standing for 'Kekkon Shite Kudasai.' (meaning will you marry me?) I was very happy."

The couple also revealed how they knew they were meant for each other. DAIGO said, "Honestly, when we began dating, I was very serious with marriage in my mind. She is just a wonderful woman, beautiful, fun, and above all else, she loves my music. She laughs uproariously at my jokes, which gives me confidence. She is just perfect as too good to be true for me. There are too many reasons why I fell for her, and if I explain all of those, it will take 24 hours, so I think that's enough for now."

Kitagawa also explained, "DAIGO-san told me he had marriage in his mind when he asked me out, so I had that in my mind from the beginning, but I became more concrete when he was chosen to be the one to run the '24-Hour TV' marathon. It was about 3 months until the marathon, and I felt that we were working together closely toward it, so it gave me the idea this was how we would keep on walking together. I can be my natural self, and just by talking to him makes me smile. He is reliable when it's important, and nothing rattles him. He is also very kind, and... it's just endless, but we ended up like this as I was attracted to everything about him."

During the conference, the happy couple stared at each other many times and showed how they were madly in love with each other.
