Wow is it just me or did Tomochin improve a lot? She sounded really nice !!

^ I happened to be browsing 2ch around the airing time of that Music station show. Half of dozen new threads all of sudden popped up suggesting how bad her singing was. I got worried, but after I watched it - it wasn't that bad. Blaah haters...
I think she made also related google+ post how nervous she was.

I don't think that it's bad at all. Probably all of us know that she isn't the best singer but I think that her voice is still very unique and very nice to listen to. I actually enjoy listening to her because her songs are always nice and her voice fits perfectly with them so I really don't see what's the big deal about her not being one of the worlds best singers. And to all the haters who say that she can't sing and that her voice is terrible, I would really like to see them go on stage and do a better job than Tomochin !!!

Yeah, she was definitely nervous but it was still a decent performance. I'm actually a bit worried about her vocal cords. Tomochin's voice has sounded raspier lately so she might be having throat problems again

Agreed. Tomo might not be the best singer but her vocals haven't ruined any of her solo songs.

Itano Tomomi’s 3 solo singles consecutively tops 3 spots on the Oricon charts

On the Oricon Single Weekly Ranking for the week of May 7th, it was revealed that AKB48’s Itano Tomomi’s third solo single, “10nen Go no Kimi e” sold 73,000 copies in its first week and placed second in this week’s rankings.

Including her debut song “Dear J” (2nd place) and her second solo single “Fuini” (1st place), her three singles have now topped consecutively in the top three spots. Itano is now up to par with former Morning Musume member Goto Maki (with “Te o Nigitte Arukitai”, released back in May 2002) as a female solo artist and a female artist from a group. They both have taken the top three spots on the chart with three consecutive singles.

“10nen Go no Kimi e” is also the CM theme song for Samantha Thavasa, a fashion brand that Itano is an image character for. The regular edition of this single also features an R&B number called “lose-lose”, which is also Itano’s first self-written song.

In related news, the chart featured SMAP’s 47th single, “Sakasama no Sora”, which dominated the charts with its first week sales of 135,000 copies.

When Matsui Rena had first joined AKB’s senbatsu, she roomed with Itano Tomomi, but she stayed in the corner of their room messing with her phone, actually sad. Itano, who was talking to other members suddenly began to talk about melon pan loudly, and suddenly said “Rena, you like melon pan, don’t you?” and tried to get her to join the circle.

Moved by her kindness, Rena tried to thank her on her blog, but Itano just said “I didn’t try to do that, we’re friends. You’re part of us”
