Mocchi's performance in Majisuka impressed me a lot. She's usually kinda shy but she was surprisingly badass in Majisuka. Has she done any acting before Majisuka?

Definitely one of the most underrated AKB girls looks wise

She hasn't done any other acting, unfortunately. And as far as I know, she wasn't even on a single variety program by herself. Only AKB related stuff. I'm actually a bit worried because, even though she got more exposure, she doesn't seem to use it. It was nice to see her featured on AKBINGO, but now she's gone again and on shows like Nemousu or Shukan, she rarely impresses. When she co-hosts, she doesn't talk much and during activities she also seems rather passive most of the time. Maybe she's not only shy but also lacking self-confidence to some degree...
Aside from being pretty, she doesn't do much to gain more fans.
I haven't watched MG yet but I'd be surprised if she had a bigger role. I'm also having a hard time thinking of her as badass.
As much as I like her the way she is, I think she needs to find something that makes her stand out more, something that producers can work with to feature her more, something that'll make a big agency want her.

Damn, that sucks. Ayaka Umeda's never on any AKB related shows but at least she gets to appear on variety shows from time to time.

I tried to think of memorable Mocchi moments but all I could think of was her Kobashi fangirling on AKBINGO. So yeah, she should definitely try to be more active whenever she gets some screentime. It would probably be easier for Mocchi to be in a smaller group because it's really hard to stand out in AKB.

Maybe she's not only shy but also lacking self-confidence to some degree...
Yeah, I have noticed the same thing. Mocchi rarely sounds confident and natural when she speaks on TV shows. I actually disliked Akicha for the same reason but she has gained a lot of self-confidence during the past few months. Oh well, at least Mocchi's nowhere near as shy as Mika Komori

Aside from being pretty, she doesn't do much to gain more fans.
Well fortunately she does look great and I'm sure that being on Team YJ will help her to gain more fans.

I haven't watched MG yet but I'd be surprised if she had a bigger role. I'm also having a hard time thinking of her as badass.
Watch it ASAP! Mocchi's performance was such a positive surprise that it made me more interested in her. By the way, she will be returning to Majisuka this week :)

As much as I like her the way she is, I think she needs to find something that makes her stand out more, something that producers can work with to feature her more, something that'll make a big agency want her.
I think she could sign with Mousa like Nakaya & Nakata did. Also getting a public blog would probably help her a lot. Meetan's blog has actually helped me to get into Mocchi because Meetan often blogs about her. All AKB underdogs should have public blogs. Anyways it will be interesting to see if the team shuffle will help Mocchi's career...

How/when you got to know her: I saw her on AKBINGO.
My favorite thing(s) about her: She's super pretty and she can act.
My disliked thing(s) about her: She rarely stands out on TV shows :(
A memorable performance: Her Majisuka Gakuen (acting) performance :thumbup
A moment that surprised me: The fact the she's a wrestling fan.
A moment that made me laugh:

A picture that I like:

A video that I like:

Other comments: Majisuka-Mocchi kicks ass!

True, but she (Umechan) is also part of a bigger group of girls that don't get what they deserve.
Not popular enough to be featured more but at the same time not unpopular enough to be completely hopless. Many of them probably work very hard for little reward. It's sad, but at the end of the day, AKB48 is still about business and not about equal chances. But with the recent trend of multiple group songs and PVs on the singles, the "middle class" are finally getting a bit more of everything.
Rant over.  :nervous

It's sorta funny that she was on AKBINGO again just now. Maybe I should complain more often.
She did well on the game and she was cute during phrase museum.

   Sorry, but these had to be quoted.

But Komorin is much younger and it works for her. And Akicha was quite popular from the beginning. I think hers was the fastest ever promotion to a team. I'm pretty sure that that helped her a lot to gain more confidence. Girls like Asuka are somewhat trapped in a stupid spiral. Improving their skills and raising their confidence is difficult without the right work / exposure - which in turn is hard to get if people think you are shy...

Well fortunately she does look great and I'm sure that being on Team YJ will help her to gain more fans.
She does look great - but then, before you know it, she's grabbing arms again....  :huhuh

Watch it ASAP! Mocchi's performance was such a positive surprise that it made me more interested in her. By the way, she will be returning to Majisuka this week :)
I watched the first four episodes now. It was nice to see her in a totally different role and I certainly was glad she didn't get beat up by SuperAcchan, but as expected, it also felt weird. Knowing she'll appear again, I'll continue to watch but, even though I had a general idea of what it would be like, I think it's a pretty craptastic show.

I think she could sign with Mousa like Nakaya & Nakata did. Also getting a public blog would probably help her a lot. Meetan's blog has actually helped me to get into Mocchi because Meetan often blogs about her. All AKB underdogs should have public blogs. Yeah, I wonder what the problem is. I mean, even if she's no front girl, she should be interesting enough for at least some of the smaller agencies...
The whole blog situation in general is pretty unsatisfying. I wish they'd take SKE as an example.
As for the team shuffle, it'll depend a lot on what kind of unit she'll get. Being "promoted" to A probably also means a lot in some people's minds but is irrelevant for the general audience.

Wow, some actual discussion for once  :twothumbs

Mocchi and Kasai pairing in Majisuka was great. They looked pretty amazing  :yep:

I gotta admit I kinda lost track of Mocchi, but after this week's AKBingo she's totally back on my radar. Super super cute. When Kiyoto was painting her face, there was this moment of silence/akwardness when her hair was in the way a bit.. that was a great moment.

Yeah, that was cute.
I was surprised to learn she was in the dodge ball club.
Wow, some actual discussion for once  :twothumbs
It could happen more often if only she had more interesting work...
*glares at her management*

Of course she didn't want paint in her face, but he said since she liked pro wrestling, he'd paint the make up of a wrestler (forgot his name, gotta watch again) and she was fine with that. That's why she had to remove her hair.

I was surprised to hear there was a dodge ball club!

(God I hated dodge ball. I was very good at dodging and always the last left on my team, just waiting to get picked off by the remaining opponents.)

As a basic rule, just remember this: If you can think of it, most likely there's a school / university in Japan that has a club or circle for it.   :P

Yeah, I understood that, but I meant that she looked so fragile during that moment. Kiyoto also tried to do it very carefully, rather than jamming the brush on the girl's face like he sometimes does  :) (even though that may be related tot the wrestler paint, I like to think that Kiyoto appreciated Mocchi's vulnerability/character  :))
