Anyone else think Cena is going to get the belt back soon because they still haven't changed it from the "Spinner" belt back to the traditional one?

I don't know if anyone watches TNA but I hope Jarrett looses the title soon. Maybe Sting will win it at Hard Justice. I want the Tag Team and X-Division titles to stay right where they are.

^First Black World Heavyweight Champion, Edge has the WWE belt.
Shame Booker's belt doesn't have much history compared to the latter.

Actually, the World Heavyweight Championship belt is former WCW Heavyweight Championship belt with "WCW" replaced by "WWE".  So technically, Booker can now say he's the six-time, six-time, six-time, six-time, six-time, six-time World Heavyweight Champion.  Not sure if the commentators will recognize it though.

Also, doesn't The Rock count as a black WWE Champion?  He's half-black half-Samoan.

To add to what chera has said, WCW was the original AWA/NWA promotion(i.e. not the one that you see these days on TNA-Impact). The belt now being called the "World Heavyweight Belt" goes back at least to the 1970's and 1980's when men like Ric Flair (back in his prime), Dusty Rhodes,  Harley Race and Ricky Steamboat were fighting over it. This belt was already well established during the time when McMahon had just began his buy-out of all of those regional promotions to make the WWE (then known as the WWF) what it is today.  The "World Heavyweight Belt" may not have as much glory as the "WWE Championship Belt", but it definitely has a longer and richer history.

JPH!P 's kuro808, Fushigidane, ChrNo, Jab & marimari. Always.

yeah you can sort of go back and forth with this one. cause WWE just drops storylines like crazy you're Right the rock does count. I don't like how everythning's going now,  but atleast there are still ppvs where they combine all 3 of the brands. that makes WWE much more enjoyable. for me.

Thoughts on ECW 1 August:

 - Kelly should be a porn star, not a valet
 - I thought they were trying to build up the Big Show as a monster giant heel.  So why is Heyman trying to "protect" him from Sabu?  The Sabu run-in was obvious.

CM Punk:
 - The tarantula-like move looked nice, but Justin ruined it by recovering immediately and slamming Punk from his subsequent springboard move.  Nothing buries a cool new move better than no-selling.
 - The so-called Muay Thai kicks were a joke.  He should have kicked the thighs, not the hips.
 - The uranage -> kimura combination was smooth and looked cool.  But if you notice the kimura, its clear that he's got his hands positioned all wrong.  That move might stretch the shoulder, but it could never hurt the elbow, like a good kimura should.
 - Most anticipated feud: Angle vs. Punk

 - What's the freaking deal with Angle?  A headbutt and a Angle-lock?  That's fewer moves than the a Hogan match!  Is he injured or something?
 - Show vs. Batista chant: YOU BOTH SUCK.  'nuff said.

The problem was that there wasn't a monolithic NWA promotion.  The NWA was an umbrella that any promotion could promote under, as long as he followed the NWA by-laws and stuff.  That's why you had the NWA in Japan, the NWA in Mexico, the NWA in every two-bit territory in the US, etc.

Explaining the history of the NWA belt without breaking the illusion that the endings aren't for the most part pre-determined (and highly political) is a darn hard challenge.

I liked CM Punk's debut but I wish they would let him use more of his old moves. His wrestling style is different in ECW but I expected that. I highly doubt we will see the Pepsi Plunge (Pedigree from the top rope). He might get to do the "Welcome to Chicago, Motherf**ker" but they will have to change the name.

A headbutt and a Angle-lock is all you need to take out the Brooklyn Brawler. I would love to see Angle vs. Punk since they were the two things I most enjoyed about tonight's show.

Never saw him in ROH or Japan, so this was my first exposure to him.  Any particular recommended matches from his pre-WWE/ECW days?

Well, the Sandman only needed a cane shot and a White Russian Leg Sweep to take out the Zombie, the Priest, Macho Libre, and the Fat Male Stripper.  But that's because the Sandman can't wrestle anymore.

But this is Angle we're talking about, the Wrestling Machine, one of the best wrestlers in the world.  I was expecting much more out of him than just two moves, especially since he just came back from suspension.

I would recommend any of his Ring of Honor matches especially his 2005 ones.

The CM Punk/Somoa Joe Trilogy was great. They had matches at World Title Classic, Joe vs. Punk II, and All Star Extravaganza II.

If you use bittorrent you can register at this website http://xtremewrestlingtorrents.net/ and download alot of wrestling PPV's and Ring of Honor (My favorite promotion) DVD's. If you do a search for CM Punk they have several of his matches.

EDIT- Angle is awesome hes one of my favorite WWE wrestlers. I would like to see him use more moves and in longer matches.

Yeah Get anything that says Joe vs Punk. Wether you are A CM Punk Fan  want to know who the heck this guy is. Or Like TNA or Somoa Joa. don't forget you can get DVDS at http://WWW.ROHwrestling.com if you wanna get yourself a legit copy.
Those best of DVDS are good too. They usually include matches from Multiple companies. (ROH CZW, and JAPAN) and they aren't held back in either of the companies.

I thought the ROH/Dragon Gate matches were awesome. It made me want to watch the Dragon Gate promotion but I don't know where to buy any of their DVD's.

yeah you can't buy everything. It costs money to get stuff liscened buy all these companies and for a 10/20 dollar dvd  you'd end up loosing money. thats why you don't usually see to many dvds by companies in smaller venues. oh yeah.. I usually stay away from the 20 dollar ones. get 10 dollar ones occasionally i go for the 5 dollar ones. or buy best of dvds directly from wrestler websites or something its cheaper.

Thanks for the tips.  I've only seen three Samoa Joe fights so far: a mind-blowing 5-star Joe vs. Kobashi match, a hillarious quadruple threat comedy match, and a FMW-style light-tube deathmatch between Joe and some fat bearded guy with no talent.  Joe's skills are quite diverse!

I've been using PWTorrents.net and like it very much.  I'll give xtremewrestlingtorrents a try too.

The tragedy is that they move Angle to ECW, give him a kick-ass new gimmic with lots of cool new moves, and then proceed to put him in squash matches.  Who's he going to feud with?!

RVD's 30 day suspension should be done by the next show but I don't remember anyone on last weeks ECW show even mentioning it.

I forgot the exact details so I looked it up on wikipedia:

"On the July 3, 2006 episode of RAW, Van Dam lost the WWE Championship to Edge in a triple threat match that also featured John Cena. The next night, on the July 4th episode of ECW on Sci Fi, he lost the ECW World Heavyweight Championship to Big Show after Heyman turned on him. Later on WWE.com, a story was written that Heyman had "suspended" Van Dam for 30 days without giving a reason. The same day, WWE.com announced that Van Dam had been legitimately suspended for 30 days as a result of his recent drug possession arrest"
