Interviewer: How did you feel when Kashiwagi-san was ranked 3rd in the Senbatsu Election?


Mayu:  I was happy, just as if it was happening to me.  Before the elections started Yukirin told me that me being ranked high would be enough for her to be happy.  But it was the same for me, I wanted Yukirin to do her best and to be ranked high. So her result for this year made me very happy.

Yuki: When for the 5th position they said “from Team B”, I thought they were talking about me and I was incredibly happy in that moment, thinking “Ohhh, I’m 5th!!”.  But when I realized it wasn’t me but Mayu….
You know, I see Mayu as the one leading our Team, we’re also from the same generation and we’re very close, so for the whole time I kept working watching her back. My feelings of wanting to support her are incredibly strong and that moment, when Mayuyu was called, was the one when I cried the most.


Mayu: What did I acquire this year? Uhm, I wonder… Ah…The ability to endure, probably.

Mayu: That was the first time I felt so much frustration. Just thinking about it makes me feel frustrated again. Still, that was reality so I couldn’t do nothing about it. In 2010 I got ranked 4th in the Elections and I said I wanted to become 3rd…so I think it’s all because my target is not high enough! Fans often tell me “Try to be more resolute, it’s okay to say what you really think!”. So…I want to become 1st.

Mayu: I wonder… Well, I got ranked 5th and to tell you the truth I think I’m still not in the condition to be ranked higher. I knew perfectly that that was not the right moment for me. So, I’m enduring on that. I keep believeng that, one day, for sure, my turn will come. I guess that until then, I’ll just endure.


Interviewer: Last year you said you were not satisfied with your position, right?


Mayu: I said that, yeah. I was still a kid at that time, so I could only think about how much frustrating it was. I didn’t understand well my own condition, but this year I knew well what kind of situations were surrounding me so I was able to think “It’s not my turn yet.”


Interviewer: Does this mean that, one day, you wish to get ranked higher?


Mayu: Definitely. Not this year, but I’ll probably wait for my chance next year.


Interviewer: Are you aiming at the top?


Mayu: Yes. I wish to become 1st, one day. But not this year, it’s not my time yet. And probably next year would be too soon as well. So, yeah, it has to pass some more time. I’m waiting for that moment to come. And until then, I’ll keep doing my best

It's announced AKB's Mayuyu(渡辺麻友 ) aka real-life angel was ranked in top-5 for 73th Drama Academy Award for Best Actress for her-starring Drama Saba-Dol!!!!!

 Her name is listed along with famous actresses such as Yuko Takeuchi, Machiko Ono, Kyoko Koizumi and Chizuru Ikewaki etc. What's amazing about this is her Drama was aired in midnight exclusively in Metropolitan area, in simple word, she and the Drama had a huge disadvantage compared to other prime time shows!

She's going for a bit more serious approach than Yuki. Her outfit isn't that girly, but a bit more mature emphasizing the time of Mayu is upon us 

I think she'll make top 5 for sure, but it's very hard to predict if she'll be able to beat Yuki. Maybe not this year, but probably next year.
