I'll skip the part that apparently took place 10 months ago to the part of Saba Doll filming crank up which was only in March 2012:

10 mothns after this traumatic incident, Mayuyu was ranked in top-5 for Drama Academy Award for Main Actress prize for her role in Drama Saba-Dol, despite all outside voices.
 During the filming, Cyzo, Japanese gossip magazine wrote that the filming of this Drama was going on in really bad mood because of Mayuyu's selfish behavior and described she's a soiled idol.
 Director of the Drama, Futoshi Ota immediately reacted to this article that Cyzo's story is not true and he's no idea how they got the idea of their article. When the filming session was wrapped up, Director wrote  a post on his blog, which he expressed his gratitude for the main cast of the Drama, Mayuyu, titled "This is why I think it was a blessing that Mayuyu was the star of this Drama."

"We arranged the filming in a way that each cast has a different timing to end the filming of their part. We filmed single cuts for each cast, and as they finished this, we exchanged goodbye. (skip) While I was telling my gratitude to one cast.... Mayuyu, who were changing her costume and makeup for her next scene rushed to us and expressed her gratitude for the cast. She did this for all casts. Each time one cast wrapped up his/her filming session, Mayuyu dashed to them and sent her gratitude."

"As I wrote again and again, because Mayuyu showed her spirit and worked so hard, we were able to have done our best, too. But when I told this to her, Mayuyu said.... 'Because all staffs tried their best, I could have tried my best.' So, this is why every cast and every staff feel 'It's a blessing that Mayuyu was the star of this Drama.' It's sometimes difficult to team up whole casts and staffs in the real sense... but I think this Drama is one of few works of mine that I could successfully accomplish this goal. But it's mostly because of the personality of the star, Mayuyu. You can never underestimate her, seriously."

To be honest, I was quite pissed off with Pinko's attitude and comments towards Mayuyu on Naruhodo High School. However now on hindsight, as what one comment in that article said, it was an experience to help Mayuyu grow and learn that the world outside AKB48 is not a bed of roses. Nevertheless, I was, and still am, impressed by how Mayuyu handled her feelings and the situation like a professional by smiling through it all.

That said, Cyzo's story about Mayuyu being selfish during the filming of Saba Dol is total bull. I'm heartened that the director of the drama defended Mayuyu and gave accounts of how professional, grateful and easy to work with she was. If she really acted like a spoilt brat or a diva, he wouldn't have bothered to stand up for her. I used to do film and video shoots and trust me, it really helps the production and the mood of the whole team if the talents are accommodating, hardworking and professional like Mayuyu.

Mayuyu has come a long way since she passed the AKB48 auditions six years ago and she will continue to go even further in AKB48 and in the entertainment industry. She has matured a lot by learning to accept reality but that doesn't mean she has given up and allowed herself to stagnate. Instead, she has gained a positive outlook and constantly does her best as she believes that she will one day reach the top and her goals. She may be young and look fragile but deep down, she has a strong heart.

The world is waiting for you, Mayuyu.

^ I'm so loving the fact that Mayuyu got to do a solo performance of WH7's new track! It's a nice change and she did a great job! She looks relaxed and sounds confident with commendable voice control here. Her recent solo live performances have been really good. All her hard work is paying off and her solo debut really helped to build her confidence in performing on her own without the other AKB members. Go Mayuyu!

"I was given the chance to make a solo debut, and I think this helped me grow, or I should say I feel it's nice that I could find what I am lacking. By seeing the world outside of AKB48, I realized how much ability I have, how AKB's name has helped me, and it was really good experience. It also made me have a feeling that some day I want to be big enough that people recognize me by the name of Mayu Watanabe without AKB's name put on it."

"But I'm still immature for my real age. I'm still a child. I want to grow older mentally and be a kind person who is able to care about people around me. The same is true to my job. I have so many things left to do in my singing as well as acting. I have to improve and blush up myself in order to accomplish something, because I'm a perfectionist in part. I don't know about the future, but I want to always keep the beginner's mind. To keep it, I try looking at my juniors carefully as possible. Seeing them working hard reminds me of the period right after I joined AKB. And... I often listen to the song called 初日 / Syonichi. This song also help me remember the feeling I had when I joined AKB."
