http://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/14g3pz/why_i_should_read_invincible/c7ct702Invincible has maintained a level a quality rarely seen in comics. It has been entertaining and interesting for almost 10 years now. Its rare for a superhero comic to only have one writer and two artists for a 10 year span. It really is everything you could want out of a superhero comic without the fear of retcons. The characters are well written and interesting, there is always at least 5 plots moving forward, and most importantly, shit happens and not usually the way you would expect. My problem with Marvel and DC is they're afraid to do anything that would make a lasting change to their universe. God forbid you kill an intellectual property that could sell a couple action figures down the road. They kill Captain America but as soon as a movie is on the horizon hes back. It's bullshit, why would anyone care if its not going to matter even 6 months down the road. Thats why Invincible is the best, its the single vision from a creator that owns the characters, he dosent have an editorial staff telling him what he can and cant do. I pick up an issue filled with dread and excitment because I know this could be it for one of my favorite long running characters. It just feels like it actuallly matters you know? In a way DC and Marvel comics never will.
