They had a few opening themes on Hajime no Ippo, If you even watched it. I did not know that myself.

Kanna from Bleach is a cutie!

Ooh sexy lip piercing.

She's pretty hot. Bleach seems pretty awesome. I've seen the name thrown around places, but never actually listened to them. They're pretty thrashy but with some melodic stuff thrown in. I needs to get me some songs.

X weren't visual kei, just visual. They were more glam than anything.

X Japan qualifies as visual kei. They started the trend anyway. Glam would be something like Glay or L'arc~en~ciel when they first started out.
Visual kei and glam sounds almost the same to me. Except when you mention glam, its more like rockers with light make-up while visual kei is like...rockers dressing as drag queens and...stuff. As the years passed vk bands has taken a more modern look though.

Correct me if I'm wrong. o_o

Sorry, by glam I meant 80's glam/hair metal, which I wouldn't label L'arc-en-ciel or glay as. Compare X with a band like Due le Quartz and they look noting alike. Now, compare X with a mix of "Shout at the Devil"/ "Theatre of Pain" era Mötley Crüe and you have a match. With the exception of hide, they generally just wore leather, like any other 80's band.
Plus, X didn't start anything. There were plenty of Japanese bands that were doing the same thing before and during X's early years. 44 Magnum, Loudness, Dead End and Anthem, just to name a few. X just brought it to the mainstream.
I don't want to sound anti-X, or anything like that. They're actually my favorite band, but it always gets on my nerves when people call them visual kei. Which is funny because I'm a visual kei fan. Go figure.
:)

I've read a few reports of Countdown Japan, all of them have been positive so far. The line up was especially awesome. BaseBallBear wore slick costumes. lol

SMG are on a break, if I'm not mistaken. Don't worry, though. What is this, the third time they've broken up? They'll get back together.
Anchang's been in Tennessee recording a solo album.
Joe, Panther and Kenjilaw are now in a band called CYCLE, but I haven't heard anything about any releases yet.
Oh, and I wouldn't call them indie... they're on Toshiba-EMI...

Thank ye.

Lol I read the Base Ball Bear quick report. The costumes were sweet. Btw, anyone watch that Base Ball Bear No Base Ball Variety on YouTube? There are like 6 parts to the series. They're quite hilarious, especially part 3 and 4.

I haven't heard much of Detroit7. They sound pretty cool from what I heard, though.

I've been floggin' the hell out of RIZE lately, so much so, I don't think anything else has been played on my ipod in 2mths.

Anyways, went and bought "Spit & Yell" yesterday (downloaded it earlier), and just when I thought RIZE was the coolest band around, that bonus DVD just fuckin' nailed it.
Gotta be one of the strangest 34mins in music video history. It has it all...Live action, anime, little fluffy animals, violence, explosions and senseless nudity.....Perfect!!

Ripping it right now!!

ahh, THE GREAT ROMATIC, i got it on release :P (im a fan haha)..

it's cool, with a few kickass songs (This Love Sucks),, a great continuation to their EP's.. (Vol.1 is just too good).. overall, more polished (of course)..

still many claim that Detroit7 is a "Live-Only Band", who are only better during live performances and such... which i cannot really say, because i havent seen them live... :(

Detroit 7 seem pretty cool from the little I know of them.

I listened to some RIZE a few months back and watched a live vid of them, they have some good songs, but I don't really like their overall sound and style of music. That DVD sounds interesting though.
