+1 for CD+DVD! I pre-ordered the CD+DVD version ages ago but frankly speaking I would have gotten the CD+PB version if I had known how awesome the PB is

^Couldn't you have canceled / changed your order? I know the PB version was sold out @ CDJapan, but with the refund you could've ordered it from YA or something. Anyway, I'm glad you'll be getting it becauuse we need someone to rip that DVD   

I ordered the PB version. With so many pages there are bound to be some good shots in there.

Limited Edition CD+DVD, Limited Edition + Photobook. These are the ones that I'll be getting.  only in my dreams but who knows, maybe I'll get to work after this term.

Well, after this album leaked, I might safely say this is all the SCANDAL music I'll be buying. I'm really irritated that both Yumemiru and BEST*SCANDAL have leaked. I've been patiently waiting, and I feel like.... it's like, when you want something so badly, and then you get it all of a sudden, and it's just.... half the fun is the suspense.  Whoever leaked it just killed it for me. And Yumemiru. If this keeps up, I won't be buying their music anymore. I wanted to support them on the charts, but... Their albums are so easily leaked.

In my opinion you should keep supporting them because all Japanese major label albums and singles leak before the actual release date. Even big artists like AKB48 and Ayumi Hamasaki are unable to avoid that. Once the CDs have been delivered to the store it's only a matter of time before the release is shared on the internet. Some stores might even receive the CDs a week before the release date so Japanese artists are very lucky that their releases leak only a couple of days before the official release date.

The situation is much worse in the US where albums often leak 2-4 weeks in advance. For example Jay-Z's latest album, which was heavily guarded leaked by the label, leaked almost 2 weeks before it was supposed to come out. Anyways when it comes to Japanese releases they are usually shared by the fans as many stores start selling albums and singles one or two days before the official release date. Japanese major label artists never intentionally leak their music onto the net because singles are still quite popular in Japan. In the US the market for singles is pretty much dead and therefore many artists leak their own singles just to create more buzz for the album.

I agree that it really does suck but unfortunately that's how the music industry is nowadays. The positive thing is that at least you get to preview the album before buying it. Back in the days I would always waste money on shitty albums just because I liked 1-2 singles. Nowadays I always download interesting albums in advance and if the album is good then I will buy it.

So yeah, please keep supporting Scandal

^ Oh, it's not like I'm going to stop listening to them. But I just won't be buying their music. And really? I've never heard of any leaks of Ayumi albums. But maybe that's just me. (I have liked her since early last year though, and she's released a lot since then....). I'm just upset.

And I still refuse to listen to the leaked version.   I've never in my music-loving life experienced leaks of albums, honestly. Maybe I've liked artists who've leaked before, but I just haven't liked them at the time. So this is really disappointing me. So yeah... I'm sorry I won't be able to share my thoughts yet.   I feel like I should, because I'm a supposed fan with a blog and I belong to this community, but I'm against the leaks 100%.  

EDIT: It may sound really irrational that I'm likely not going to buy anything from them in the future, but really.... I would've been continuing to just download if I didn't feel regret for not contributing to their chart status as I do with U.S. artists, easily. But seeing as people in Japan obviously can get their CDs at record stores a few days before release dates, like nothing, then what's the harm in me downloading? And since it's getting leaked... >_< It's like, their past two releases, released last week and tomorrow were leaked before the dates. How come it seems so easy? It just feels wrong.... Even if it was just someone who got an early copy and ripped it, we can never know... And for the one time I am finally buying a J-pop artist's album, in the little-over-a-year time in which I've listened to J-Pop, I.... I don't want to hear the CD before I get my copy. It's my first J-pop CD, and I want to hear the songs on it.... on it.  I'm sorry if I sound stupid, but it's my first time buying J-pop, so... Like I said in the other thread, the album didn't leak, because it's Tuesday and it's supposed to come out today. Yumemiru was on the Internet on Monday, but I still wouldn't really consider it a leak. IMO, a leak would be when a CD shop owner or a radio DJ uploads it several days prior to the release date. Just be glad that it wasn't out weeks or months before. It has happened.

^ I'm sorry. I didn't see that other thread, sorry. And once again, I said that this is my first time buying. I'm a newbie. I'm a freshman to J-pop, if you will. So I don't know this kinda stuff. So I'm sorry for that. It's just my feelings, my opinion. And I've never experienced leaks like this. Maybe I don't because leaks aren't really posted on AHS, and the U.S. artists I listen to...I don't follow as closely as J-pop artists.   God I feel like such a stupid asshole right now for being so ignorant.

O_o I'm really confused. I've been hearing for months it's 10-21-2009, which is tomorrow. And it's been talked about how it's exactly one week from Yumemiru's release, which was supposed to be 10-14-2009. I'm just feeling really....   I'm sorry if I'm being an unbearable idiot, because that's what I'm feeling like now after all this.   I'm just not used to leaks... But if today's supposed to be the release date, then.... I'm sorry for not understanding, but that's just me.

Japan official release dates are on Wednesday, but they are really released on Tuesday, and sometimes even Monday if Tuesday is a holiday.

Welcome to the internet. Most popular music (singles and albums) end up online before the release date these days, which is actually all the more reason for people to buy the releases. Now more than ever, bands need fans to support them by buying their stuff. If you like a band and want their cd, what does it matter if it leaks or not? If you want to wait until you have the cd to listen to it, then just wait. Noone is forcing you to download anything.

Well then... I don't see the HK release on YesAsia yet, but once it gets posted up there, I'm definitely going to check it out...  Maybe I'll try to snag it for my friend, her birthday's coming up next month, and she loves SCANDAL, and it's about time I repay the debt (she introduced me to them  )

That's the version that comes with a poster, right? You could always get that version for your friend and keep the poster yourself

Welcome to the internet. Most popular music (singles and albums) end up online before the release date these days, which is actually all the more reason for people to buy the releases. Now more than ever, bands need fans to support them by buying their stuff. If you like a band and want their cd, what does it matter if it leaks or not? If you want to wait until you have the cd to listen to it, then just wait. Noone is forcing you to download anything.
