No matter what song or PV she releases, First Love will always be my favorite.

I too like some sad Hikki songs from time to time, but I need my dorky Hikki to cheer me up.

What about her Western material? Hard to imagine that This Is The One is 3 years old now at this point. Feels like yesterday.

Exodus was pretty decent too. Some decent tunes on there too like Kremlin Dusk.

^ Exodus is one of my favorite albums of all time. :twothumbs Solid work from start to finish.

Nice to see Hikki tweeting a lot more lately...even nicer when she does so in English. Is it weird that I'm not too shocked that she never played Kingdom Hearts?

Right after TOZ wrapped up another Guerrilla Radio session last night the stream went right into this old song:

A hidden gem from the Rush Hour 2 soundtrack; I'd love to see her collaborate with the Neptunes again.

She also mentioned recently that she's been listening to Aaliyah's music lately. I gotta say, it would've been all kinds of awesome to see them working together, but sadly it'll never happen beyond reviving old recordings.

And right as I said Kremlin Dusk I looked it up and found this. It didn't even occur to me that she would have done live performances of it. :o

Not sure if it was from a single, rather just a performance for Youtube or something.

Didn't find this anywhere so I decided to upload it myself. One of my fav Hikki moments, where she fangirls over Rika Ishikawa. One of the best selling music artist of all time but at the end of it all....she's just like us.

That was a nice clip, would love to see Hiki post in Rika's threads in JPH!P sometimes!!

But really, reviewing the last two pages..........Utada Hikaru is such an extremely talented artist. I have many of her CD's, but haven't spent much time lately listening to her music. Those songs bring back the initial absolute respect I had for her as I first found out about her, and started following her music. So much depth in her repetoire of titles.

    Respect!!!

Utada decides to show off her geeky side by getting Evangelion painted nails

On her left hand...

...and her right.

Is this a new Utada song? I don't think I've heard it before but maybe it skipped my radar.

Edit:
It seems it is, in fact, a new song: http://www.mtvjapan.com/onair/program/3252

Yay, Hikki's back!! (I hope.)  :twothumbs

Somehow listening to this song and watching the PV it reminds me of Deep River, yet still completely different from what she has released before.

Too bad I can't download the song on the US iTunes store right now.  :(

I can't believe it's already been two years since she went on her break!

Her voice is still as beautiful as ever. The song is definitely typical Hikki, which is a very good thing.

The video is very eerie and trippy, especially with such simple usage of such simple footage.

I'm gonna hold off on celebrating until we know for sure she's back full time, but for now it's great to see that she hasn't given up on music or lost her touch!

English translation of the lyrics here. Turns out the song is also the theme for the new Evangelion movie.

Sadly, it seems like this was a one-time thing.

Quote
The last time Hikki announced a new song was “Goodbye Happiness” back in November of 2010. She’s currently on hiatus, but the film staff’s ardent offer and her love for ‘Evangelion’ moved her to write the new song. According to the record company, Hikki will not be resuming her activities, but this is just a one-time release.
