Nice~ =] I myself had some stories working in my mind since the announcement to Koharu's graduation..haha

Quote
Maybe it was just cause Eririn liked her and yet from what she said the other girl showed no interest at all, but she was getting to be pretty gosh-darned annoying lately!

- Ohhhh.. Gaki-san rejected her??! why? lol

Quote
“She threw me across the room and nearly killed me!”

- "and used me as an excuse to leave the meeting early"

Poor Ai~ getting the blames even though it wasn't her fault

Sorry for being so late!!! No comment replies yet, cause for one it's been so long, and for another there's not really much to say about the story yet until some more stuff has come out. :) I will say that some of you are kind of on track... while some of you aren't. lol. At least with this one, even if you forgot it, there's not much to read to refresh yourselves again! I'm curious to see when I post something new in Sword and the Dove. :P

Chapter 2

It’s hard being the leader of the free world.

Being the leader of Morning Musume as well as the rest of Hello! Project has its stressful parts too.

“Takahashi-san, do you think I really have what it takes to be an idol like you guys? I mean, I get so self-conscious when dancing with you… and Tanaka-san… and Yajima-san and Shimizu-san. I really don’t feel like I belong sometimes…”

Stretching out in her black sweats before a rehearsal for DESTINY LOVE which they’d perform for the first time at the upcoming winter concert, Ai sighed longingly at a book that stuck crookedly out of her gym bag.

“Of course you have what it takes, Yuuka-chan,” she said comfortingly. “Just have fun. That’s all there is to it.” She glanced up at the fidgeting girl who was finding her way, having graduated from the Eggs to focus on her own small permanent group, even in addition to High-King. Ai knew what it was like to be flustered around her seniors though. She still felt like that a lot of the time, even though, well, there really was no one more senior than herself around too much anymore.

“Just chill out,” she said, rising to her feet and patting the young girl, who like almost everyone else was taller than her, on the shoulder. “Hang out with us more often,” she advised. Then she smiled. “Call me Ai-chan!” She burst out into a short impulsive giggle after that before realizing that the girl was staring at her wide-eyed.

Awkward silence passed between them for a moment, Ai’s giggle fading as she felt clueless as to what else to say, before Yuuka responded with a “Yes, Takahashi-san.”

Ai had barely let out her sigh in response before she felt herself jostled forward, almost knocking over the girl in front of her. “Nee, Leader,” a somewhat raspy voice said from behind as she looked back to see who had punched her shoulder, the voice identifying the unsurprising assailant.

“Stop that, will you?” Ai mumbled, half to herself. “If you keep saying things like that, they’ll never call me Ai-chan.”

“Eh?” Reina prodded. “What’s that? I couldn’t hear you. Yuuka,” she said shifting her attention. “You better start calling her Ai-chan, or she’ll break out her leader powers and kick your scrawny ass.”

As their junior’s eyes grew big as saucers again, Ai closed her own, clenching her fists tightly. Morning Musume’s very own yankii was sometimes too outspoken for her own good, and while it offered them some personality at times especially on TV, a lot of people also seemed to think it was fake.

The problem was, Ai knew very well where most of it was coming from, and while some of it was carefully manufactured by the girl for her image, there was plenty underlying it as well. Being from Fukuoka she had a tough image to begin with, and with her experiences since joining Morning Musume… well, sometimes Ai just really didn’t know what to expect from her. Dealing with her the past week or two had seemed to be even harder than usual.

“Reina,” she said, forcing a smile to her face. “Have you managed to cheer up Sayu? I got a bit worried from the report you gave me.”

“Oh she’s fine,” Reina replied, gazing past Ai as Yuuka apparently took the chance to slip away from her daisenpai. “She’s actually doing her best to comfort Koharu-chan. That’s the one you should really be worried about. Oh that’s right, I guess you don’t have to worry about her anymore…”

Ai’s smile faded. Being reminded of their bubbly new graduate was still sad. For many of them she was the first junior to graduate, and it made all the remaining girls re-evaluate their own careers and positions. She had a great respect for how Iida-san and Nakazawa-san must have handled it when their own juniors graduated even much more often. Maybe they would all become old maids, like everyone joked at the two of them for. Or at least she supposed she would. But then again, she’d never really thought about things like that.

She scrutinized the fiery yankii. Surely Reina wouldn’t become like that. With all that she’d been through, despite what went on with her and Sayu Ai didn’t see her staying tame for long. Then again, the girl was really anything but tame, if any of the rumors she’d heard were true…

As she twisted her mouth with the thought, she glanced over to the other two members of their now seemingly semi-permanent shuffle group, who Yuuka had retreated to in order to join in with their warm-ups. Apparently they were less threatening than the two twenty-plus women from Morning Musume. She sighed again.

“Aw c’mon,” Reina said, laying a comforting hand on her arm. “Don’t tell me you’re feeling old again.”

Ai cocked an eyebrow at her bandmate. “Oddly I’m not feeling too bad in that respect. You’re the one that just turned twenty, after all.” She broke out into another giggle after amusing herself once again.

This time it was the feline-featured girl’s turn for a sigh. “Ugh. Don’t remind me. I don’t know how you guys handle being so old. I mean… What happened to my youth?”

This time Ai smiled a bemused smile toward the other girl. “Morning Musume happened to it,” she replied. “This is what you wanted, isn’t it?”

“Seven years ago, maybe,” Reina replied distractedly as she watched the younger girls stretch. Ai fought to keep the smile on her face. “That’s a long time ago. Over a third of my life.” She seemed to consider a moment. “You know, seven is a good number…” And with that, she released Ai’s arm and began sauntering over to the others.

Ai watched after for a moment before deciding she had better join them as well to get rehearsal started. She was the one that was supposed to get them going, after all. She was the one that was supposed to know it all. Glancing once again wistfully toward her pack and the treasures inside which seemed to sparkle out to her like the most valuable materia, she followed to rein in an obnoxious yankii, who seemed to have already begun lecturing one of the younger girls about something or other.

“Ai-chan, I need to talk to you.”

Ai groaned. Bad news seemed to find her even when she was trying to get changed at the end of a long day to go home for the night.

“I have some reports from some of the staff about our rehearsals this week…”

Yep, she knew it. Reports. There was nothing that made her happier in the way of wanting to vomit into the nearest wastebasket, or at least desiring to toss the offending reports into it. And then perhaps vomiting in it onto them.

Since becoming leader of Morning Musume, she saw the number of reports coming to her attention rise dramatically, but that was nothing to what happened when Nakazawa-san handed her the reins of Hello! Project. It was something else she didn’t know how her predecessors handled. At least everyone seemed to like her, even though they seemed inevitably scared of her at times. Nakazawa-san definitely left quite a legacy. Well, it was Ai-chan’s legacy to make now, and she would try her hardest to mold it in her image.

She’d come up with what she thought was a very clever strategy to cope with the reports, however. She delegated them, and to someone who seemed far more interested in and willing to deal with them than she was.

“Apparently Sayu has been working hard, but Mizuki-san has observed that she seems sad.” The girl looked up at Ai in a sympathetic way before going on, “I think you should talk to her.”

“That’s what Reina was supposed to do…” Ai mumbled, her eyes dropping to her shoelaces.

“What’s that?” the other said, but apparently didn’t care for Ai’s response and just went on. “Mittsi has been very energetic though, and seems to be handling it almost better than anyone.” She put a finger to the side of her mouth. “Almost makes you wonder if she’s actually happy that Koharu-chan’s gone…”

“I’m sure everyone’s just as sad as you say,” Ai replied. “I’ll talk to Mittsi tomorrow too though,” Ai replied, trying her best to appear busy tying her shoelaces as she finished dressing down for the night.

“I didn’t tell you to do that,” the girl said, and Ai looked up at the frown that was being cast down at her.

“Oh?” Ai asked, looking up at her long-time friend. “Gaki-san, how often do you bring those reports to me? If you didn’t want me to do something about them, you wouldn’t bother.”

Risa studied her for a long moment as she finished tying her shoelaces, but when Ai rose she stepped forward to her. “You’re stressed,” she said, laying a hand on her arm.

“I’m just tired,” Ai grumbled, shaking off the arm.

“Ai-chan, I’m your best friend. I know it when something’s getting to you.” Risa’s voice softened to where it was almost soothing, and she dropped the apparently now-forgotten reports onto the bench. “It’s been a long couple weeks for all of us. You’ve had some things not go so well, like that meeting the day after the graduation, and you’re taking all of the rest into yourself.”

Ai stared into the face of the girl across from her. Was she right? That meeting really was a disaster, and it seemed like she’d been dealing with constant problems since then. Her eyes glossed as she fell into thought.

“You know, you’re right,” Ai replied quietly after a moment. Taking one more glance over at the pack which was bursting as it awaited being taken home and used to its entertaining purposes, she thought she might be able to pursue a different route tonight. It had been a while. Her eyes focused back on the girl before her. “I could use a break.” Holding the other’s eyes, she slipped her arms around the slim waist and pulled her closer.

“Ai-chan,” Risa said, her expression completely changed with now-pleading eyes as if they knew what was coming… and they also knew she would be helpless to resist it. “Please, don’t do this.”

“Do what?” Ai asked, leaning forward to nestle against the girl’s shoulder and begin kissing her neck lightly.

“I said it would be the last time…” Risa protested, but that resistance seemed to be fading quickly.

“Last time for what?” Ai asked, hardly even knowing what she was saying. “Come home with me tonight. You’ve got stuff there from last time.”

She pulled the girl’s body, one that she’d become so familiar with over time, tighter to her own, her hands now wandering around the hem of the other’s shirt, tugging it up from time to time, as she continued kisses along her collarbone.

“Ai-chan… please…”

In order to stop the annoying interruptions, Ai pulled her head back to face the girl once again, but only momentarily before capturing her lips, the other’s involuntarily willing moan into her mouth sealing their fate for the night ahead.

 I like Ai's internal dialogue. :P

Glancing once again wistfully toward her pack and the treasures inside which seemed to sparkle out to her like the most valuable materia

FF reference! I bet that's FFXIII inside her pack, yes? :P The timing would be about right.

Ai's quite observant here, although as usual she keeps everything to herself. XD I like how you wrote her. All those discussions really paid off here eh? :P

Ok so enough stalling. The last bit with the TakaGaki was interesting. They are obviously not dating, so....friends with benefits? Or just a parting that wasn't very clean-cut? It seems like they would have been together for a while to be all intimate (unless you like to shock us with the idea that they're both ok with screwing around without being emotionally involved at some point XD ...actually that's still possible I guess). But yes, Risa doesn't want it to happen, but can't resist Ai. So Ai's being far more....hmm what was that word...less serious about the whole thing? Interesting. XD I also find it funny that she didn't want any of the added responsibilities of leader...well, we all knew that. XD It's just fun to see her being all blah about it. :P

Anyway, please don't wait so long to update again~ :D

Well, you made me giggle and forgive it being late at the same time.

I giggled again, too, I love how you write Ai-chan.

“You know, seven is a good number…”
Is she implying something about graduations? Either her's or Koha's?

Didn't tell her to do that, either. XD

If she really wanted it to be the last time, I'm sure she would have made herself clear. After all, it's pleasurable to both and not really hurting anyone. And they do love each other in a sense or else it wouldn't have started.

I blushed a little bit, btw. Is it too much to hope for a livening up of the perv fic section? :)

Ha! I've finally read this fic! Damn attention span shall not slow me down! *beats it off with a bat* And my laziness didn't get to me either so here is a comment! *points to it* Now I just have to beat off the laziness and short attention span again to read some other fics and possibly comment, but I'm not sure if that will happen so soon.

Anyway, I really like your newest fic Rokun. I also like how you write the girls. It's very interesting and good. Their characterization is what gets my attention the most and makes me enjoy the fic even more. It seems to me though that you're focusing on MM's bond and closeness with each other and will continue to do so in this fic mainly with Sayu. That's just what I get unless I'm getting it wrong. If so I need to re-read the the posted chapters again to get it right. I could use the practice with evaluating what I read anyway.

The latest chapter is good too. Do I see some ReiniAi in it? I think if you write it like that I might be able to like it again after being upset from the ReinaAiRisa triangle Estrea wrote not that I don't like the story I just don't like how poor Risa suffered. XD But yeah that's not important! So moving on.

The ending of chapter 2 made me go: Hell yeah!

In my head this time and not out loud, because my mom is home and she would hear me. lol Then I realized that maybe TakaGaki aren't dating or love each other and just have a fling going on so I kind of went: Noooooo! This is in my head also by the way. lol

Then comes the mental slapping, because I'm actually OK with TakaGaki just wanting to screw each other with no emotions attached because it's kind of hot. ^^; I wonder if they aren't serious though about whatever "relationship" they or if it is a relationship but it's just kind of hard to accept. Or! It could be that Risa doesn't accept her feelings for Ai and rejects Ai and Ai well she tries not to let it bother her.

That's also a possibility you know if you get me. OK, well I think I've said what I needed to. I just hope you can update soon, but take your time. The next update I'll try to read also. ^_^

What? Will you maybe tell us what Ai is when you update the regular story? Maybe sometime soon?
Better late than never, ne? ^_^ Although... this is soon from when you made that last comment at least.

For those of you with access to the Perv, a chapter 2.5 has been posted in the fanfic area. If you can't get in there, ask and I shall PM. :D

Chapter 3

When Ai woke the next morning, she sensed an unexpected presence beside her. It had been awhile since she hadn’t woken up alone in her bed, so she glanced curiously at the back of the sleeping, and apparently naked, girl lying next to her while trying to get waking memory to return.

That was right – she’d invited Risa over for the night. At the same time her memories came back, she recognized the familiar contours of the girl’s body as well as her long dark hair. Rolling over to lay on her back and take in some long breaths, she closed her eyes. It was quite easy to get herself to relax – their activities last night had really done some good.

After a few minutes of waking, she got out of bed and headed for the washroom. It was early, but she had things to do, and so thought she’d better get a head start on it. She made sure to wash thoroughly after last night, even though they’d just bathed then too, and when she returned to her room to dress she noticed the girl still wasn’t awake. Smiling to herself as she dressed for the day, she decided to wake her before she left just in case she would sleep in too late herself.

Once done in the bedroom she furnished a small breakfast, running notes through her head on things she needed to do today as she worked. Since it didn’t seem Reina was going to talk to Sayu like she asked, she was probably going to have to talk to the girl herself. She’d also decided to talk to Aika, even though Risa didn’t seem to deem it necessary. Still, she was suspicious at the young girl’s good mood, and it would be good to get to the bottom of that. Despite Risa’s reports, it was Ai’s responsibility to know everything that was actually going on, after all.

Checking the time on her phone, she thought she might as well head for the train even though she’d be a good while early. She never minded waiting for the train, since it was quiet time and she always had her PSP along. After tugging on her long wool coat and velour cloche hat, she returned to the bedroom to walk up to the still soundly sleeping girl curled up on her bed. Laying a hand on her arm, she shook her gently until Risa rolled over and her eyes drifted open.

“Mm…” Risa moaned in waking, “Mou… Ai-chan?” She blinked blearily at her human alarm clock.

“It’s morning, Gaki-san,” Ai said quietly. The girl seemed to be taking in her bulky, fully clothed appearance. “I’m just heading out and thought to make sure and wake you. You have the morning off, right? There’s rice and fish soup on the table for breakfast, you’re welcome to stay as long as you like of course…” She trailed off, pondering more.

Risa pushed her muscles into gear and sat up quickly, not noticing the sheet falling to bare her above the waist. “You’re leaving?” she asked. “But I should go with you.”

“Don’t you mind that,” Ai told her sternly, laying a hand on her shoulder to keep her from rising further. “I just have some things I want to do this morning.” When her eyes dropped to linger a moment on Risa’s chest, the girl finally realized her state and blushed, tugging the sheet up around her. Ai pulled away again.

“But…” Risa protested once again, but Ai was on her way out the door.

Waving a hand vaguely behind her, she called back, “See you later!”

After an hour or so, Ai meandered around the halls of the studio sipping on her soy latte. It was still quiet at about ten thirty in the morning, with only a few staff wandering the halls. When she saw one of their managers, she reached for her sleeve to get her attention.

“Have any of the girls arrived yet?” she asked the woman curiously.

“Takahashi-san,” the manager replied in greeting. “Ano…” She hesitated in thought a moment. “JunJun and LinLin have arrived. I believe Michishige-san was with them as well. I don’t think I’ve seen the others. So sorry.”

Ai nodded. “All right,” she replied with a smile. “Thanks, that’s very helpful.”

The manager bowed and continued on her way, Ai forgetting her almost immediately. Well that was some good news. At least she could speak to Sayu before the work day began. Continuing to sip her drink, she made her way leisurely to their dressing rooms to find Sayu’s and knock softly before going in.

“Haaa~i!” Sayu chirped in greeting to whoever was entering her room. Seeing her alone, Ai figured the Chinese girls must have gone for breakfast or such. Even though this was the sixth gen’s dressing room, she was sure the early arrivals would have been keeping each other company otherwise.

“Hi Sayu,” Ai said quietly, and Sayu smiled over at her.

“Ai-chan!” she cried, carefully closing her compact and setting it down to focus her attention on Ai, who pulled up a chair next to her. “You’re here early today too?”

“Yeah,” Ai replied, setting her drink on the counter. “I had some things I wanted to do. Have you talked with Reina much since the concert the other day?”

As usual, the girl’s pale features flushed slightly at mention of the yankii’s name. Ai once again wondered at the real reason why the two of them split up, but it was only a fleeting thought.

“Of course I’ve talked with her,” she replied. “I hang out with her and Eririn often.”

Ai stared at her drink as she turned it slowly ‘round on the counter. It would be nice to be better at dealing with people, especially someone as normally social as Sayu. “I’m glad to see you guys stay so close,” she said evenly. “It’s good for the generations to stick together, like Gaki-san and I do as well. I’d imagine it made Koharu-chan pretty lonely at times.”

Sayu’s smile faded slightly, and Ai inwardly nodded at being able to actually get somewhere in the conversation. “Yeah,” Sayu replied, “I tried my best to help Koha-chan feel like she belonged. Though it was tough…”

Ai nodded. “Because of Kirari, right?” Sayu nodded her agreement. Letting a sigh escape, Ai continued, “I wonder if Tsunku’s right and that it might not be best for her to graduate and move on to something that suits her better. Have you heard from her since Sunday? She decided on any plans yet?”

“I don’t think so…” Sayu replied, speaking slowly in thought. “She… seems worried about what she could do. She doesn’t think she’s good at anything.”

“But she still has Oha Star,” Ai commented, returning her gaze to the sixth gen’s face. “That’s something she can continue to do, and get exposure. She’s a bright, spunky kid. I’m sure it won’t be too long before she finds something more lasting.” She coughed a laugh. “And she’ll probably even get paid more than us!”

Sayu stared at her a moment before breaking into a giggle herself. “Look at you, Ai-chan,” she said, and Ai blinked. “You really do sound the full-grown leader.” At Ai’s still-lost expression, she explained, “’Spunky kid’? I won’t deny she is, but…” She giggled again.

Clearing her throat, Ai sat up straighter in her chair and blushed lightly as well. “Er… I’m not really that grown up. I still feel like a kid a lot of the time too. I’m still not a match of Nakazawa-san, or Iida-senpai or Abe-san, or even Yossi.” Feeling more self-conscious with every word, she rambled on, “Not that I’m comparing myself to them of course! I could never compare to one of them, or even—”

She broke off as Sayu reached over to touch her knee lightly, a big smile spread across her face and her eyes sparkling. “Don’t be so modest, silly,” she said. “You’ve done very well for us the past… It’s been almost three years now, hasn’t it?” Ai blinked. The girl was right; it had been. How time flies…

Then, unexpectedly, the girl lifted herself up from her chair and plopped down into Ai’s lap and hooked a thin arm around her neck. Ai felt her eyes widen as they always did when the “friendly” girl did something like this. “Plus we make sure to show you how much you’re appreciated, don’t we?” the girl asked, fluttering her eyelashes.

Ai didn’t respond, and as expected, the girl pressed her lips to her own. She pulled away after just a moment though. “I remember when you used to jump away when I tried to kiss you,” she said, her voice laced with amusement.

“I’m still not sure I shouldn’t…” Ai replied suspiciously. “Who knows what kind of things you learned from Reina, never mind all the other girls you kiss.”

The girl giggled once again. “Nothing I’m sure you don’t already know,” she replied, grinning, “And of course I like kissing you the most!!” Then she leaned in to Ai once again, giggling and playing with her hair as she did so. This time their kiss endured much longer.

A while later, Ai found herself walking the studio halls again. She still had her latte with her, but it was cold now. Well… she thought, her mind lingering on the long if tame make-out session in the Rokki’s dressing room. I wanted to try and cheer her up. She definitely looked more cheerful when we were done…

It was now nearly the lunch hour, though the girls rarely took their meals at the regular times. She was willing to bet Reina hadn’t even had her breakfast yet. Still, the halls were much busier than they were a bit ago, and Ai hoped to find the certain young girl to accomplish the other task she’d set herself this morning.

Just as she thought, she arrived at one of the dance halls to find their youngest member diligently practicing her steps to the new single. She watched the girl a moment, as always impressed and proud at her effort, before pushing the door open and walking in.

“Aika-chan!” she called out, and the girl paused in her steps to see who had called out to her before hurrying over to turn the music off.

“Leader-san!” Aika said cheerfully, and Ai groaned.

“Don’t call me that,” she said. “Just Ai-chan is fine.”

“Yes, Leader,” Aika said, bobbing her head with a smile still broad along her face. Ai narrowed her eyes. She knew the girl did that on purpose… She was too smart for her own good. Far smarter than Ai herself.

“How’ve you been doing?” Ai asked, feigning a smile while trying to forget what just happened. “You seem to be getting the steps down well.”

“It’s not too hard really,” Aika replied, shrugging it off. “Though it’ll be different when we get the heels.” Then she peered up at Ai, doing a very good doe-eyed impression. “Why can’t we stand out, anyway?” Then she giggled.

Ai raised an eyebrow at her before tapping at her nose with a finger. “Cause if you stand out too much, you’ll make me look bad!”

Aika fell into all-out laughter at that. “Yeah, we can’t have that, can we?” she grinned.

“Mind if I join you for a while?” Ai asked, and threw her drink into the trash before stripping off her sweatshirt.

“Um… sure,” Aika replied. “It’s always good to practice with you, Leader.”

Ai ignored the girl’s use of her title again and instead headed over to the stereo. “Alright…” she said slowly, reaching for the button. “…Let’s go!” And she pressed it.

The two girls practiced for a good while together, Ai watching the other closely the whole time. She had her suspicions of what was going on, but wasn’t going to say anything about it yet. If it was true, she’d find out from the others in their own time.

After a few minutes, Jun and Lin discovered them rehearsing as well, and never passing up a chance to practice with their senpai, joined in with them. Ai was pleased with their progress, thinking now how this was actually half of their remaining group. It still was odd thinking about Koharu-chan and their ninth member not being with them any longer.

When the clock hit noon and it was fully time for lunch break, they finally stopped, thanking each other for the practice time. When Ai grabbed her towel to wipe off the sheen of sweat on her forehead, Aika walked up to grab the other that had been lying next to it.

“I really envy you, Takahashi-san,” she said. Ai hardly batted an eyelash this time. “You’re so sexy when you dance. I wish I could move like that.”

“Give yourself a few years,” Ai said, dabbing at the sides of her neck. She looked down the young girl’s body. “Your hips will fill out. Legs will strengthen.” As she brought her eyes back up, her gaze lingered on her chest though she didn’t mention anything about that. Sometimes that was a sore spot for girls. Still, she realized that Aika was blushing under her scrutiny.

“Thanks, Takahashi-san…” she said meekly. “But I don’t know. I can just hope I grow into a beautiful woman.”

Ai smiled at her before leaning her elbow on the counter. “Are you sure you’re all right?” she asked, in repetition of her question from earlier. “I mean, you and Koharu-chan were close, weren’t you?”

Aika blinked at the sudden topic switch, but otherwise kept smiling. “Of course I miss her,” she said, seeming unconcerned as she toweled herself off. “But each of us moves on with our own lives, right? I love all of you just the same. You’re my best friends.”

Smiling to herself, feeling even more certain of her suspicions now, Ai was about to ask another question before a loud bang pulled the attention of both of them to the door. However, their view was obstructed by a girl with the face of a thundercloud striding aggressively toward them. Ai barely had time to blink before the girl reached her and her face rang with the girl’s hard slap to her jowl; she hung onto the counter to keep herself on her feet.

After hearing a squeak behind her, followed by Aika quickly and very timidly commenting, “I’ll see you guys after lunch,” she turned to see the young girl dashing toward the door that’d just been slammed open. Jun and Lin had apparently already fled the room. Then she looked up into the face of the girl who she earlier today had left lying on the bed in her apartment.

“I just heard from Kamei,” the girl said through gritted teeth, “That Sayu was telling them in their dressing room all about how she’d just managed to spend an hour making out in there with Leader.”

Ai, rubbing her jaw and opening and closing her mouth to make sure it wasn’t broken or something, turned warily to face her attacker. “I dropped by because I needed to talk to Sayu about how she was coping with things. We had a good conversation, and then she just kissed me.”

Risa stared at her, her face still tight, as if waiting for more. “She just kissed you?” the girl growled. Ai warily studied the fists she held clenched tightly at her sides.

“Yes,” Ai replied. “She seemed happier when we were done.”

Risa took in a deep breath, closing her eyes as she did so as if trying to recover herself. “Of course she was happy when you were done…” she mumbled. “That’s usually the result after making out with someone for an hour.”

“Well I don’t think it was quite an hour…” Ai said defensively, but then Risa opened her eyes again, and Ai thought she saw them faintly glistening with tears.

“You don’t even know what the problem is, do you?” Risa asked, and apparently Ai’s confused silence answered her question. The girl took in another deep breath. “This is the second time I’ve heard about you kissing Sayu outside of a concert,” she said, and though Ai wanted to interject that it was really the other girl doing the kissing, she continued on forcefully. “I’ve also seen you kissing JunJun. Have you done that outside of concerts as well?” She didn’t give Ai time to respond before she went on, her voice now becoming almost frenetic. “I’ve even heard rumors about you and Mitsui!”

Ai blinked. Well those “rumors” certainly weren’t true. The youngest Musume had maybe caught her a time or two in concert, maybe quick pecks backstage as well, but nothing to get worked up over. However, as she stared levelly back at Risa, the girl’s face almost quivered with tension. Then she noticed the first tear begin to fall. She reached up to wipe it away, but Risa grabbed harshly at her wrist.

“It’s over,” she grated, her voice shaking. “I told you that months ago, and it should have been true then. I can’t do this anymore.” Ai continued bemusedly staring back into her face. “I took the rest of my stuff from your apartment. Including the laundry.”

“Risa…” she said after a moment. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t say that!” the other girl growled, and thrust her arm hard to the side. Ai winced, rubbing it as it was jarred a little from the socket. “Don’t say something you don’t mean!”

“But…” Ai replied, still massaging her shoulder.

“It’s over!” Risa declared with finality, and spun to march out of the room, her bag swinging violently at her side. The girl must have come almost straight here after just arriving at the building.

Ai stared after her, trying to rub at both her chin and shoulder, and gave a long sigh. After a minute of rubbing, she noticed Aika peep into the door as if to see if it was safe for her to come back in and gather her belongings for lunch.

Sometimes, it really was hard being Leader.

Heh...so you finally updated this! :D

I admit, I missed the story. And a whole Ai-chan POV chapter! Joy! :P

Well, one thing's obvious from the update. Ai seems to not see Risa in a special I-love-her-she's-my-girlfriend kind of way. There's a kind of detached affection, but something more like what you would feel for a friend...that you happen to be sleeping with. XD She doesn't even seem to comprehend the idea of "loyalty", in the way that she just makes out with Sayu right after leaving Risa in bed. It's like...she's emotionally distanced from them. The sex and physical affections are good for her, so she has them, but she doesn't bring along the emotional baggage that comes along with having more than just a physical relationship. She does seem rather broken in that way. Hmmm. And she doesn't even realize anything is wrong. Not that I really mind her being all pimp-like, though. XD

I enjoyed how Ai bonded with Aika over the training session. She's close to them, but yet somehow still impersonal. I think it's reflective of what I said about her just being...broken...emotionally somehow. Close, yet not close. Hm. Interesting quandary there.

Risa, as always, is emotionally invested in a relationship...I guess she can't just have sex and leave it at that. She wants all the bells and whistles: exclusivity, love, loyalty, the works. XD I feel kind of sorry for her...well, not really. But she does deserve someone who can actually love her back, and not just want her physically (because god knows that as an idol, you get treated as an object often enough). But yeah, poor girl. It's obvious she still loves Ai, no matter what she said in that perv. XD She wouldn't have blown up like that if she didn't care already.

Btw, I like the reference to Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai. :D Although I want to point out that Mitsui never dances in heels, because she has some kind of flat foot condition. Watch the PVs, she's the only one in flats all the time. XD Just a minor thing you might want to keep in mind.

Oh and, I really like Ai/Sayu. XD Even though it was just kissing and with no strings attached. Actually, that's what's best for those two. Lmao. XD

Update again soon!

Yes, better late than never.

So, Ai's an emotionally detached player? I still do truly believe that she has feelings for Risa, in a way that somebody with muted feelings can feel for someone, but it must seem okay for her to kiss the others when she doesn't love them if they like it. As long as it doesn't mean anything to her, she not really being 'unfaithful,' right? She's probably wondering why Risa can't understand that.

And Risa, I knew she still loved Ai(I  emotionally dysfunctional Takagaki), otherwise she wouldn't have freaked out on her like that. And in front of the 8kis no less. Methinks some rumors are going to spread.

Other than the turmoil at the end, Ai really did a good job of comforting and gauging the reactions of the others on a one on one basis. She probably should have done that first instead of that disastrous meeting after the concert.

Thank you for all your wonderful comments. ^_^ They really are all wonderful, short or long! :D As long as I can tell you're loving the story in your own way. :)

kawaii biimu-chan: yaho~o! :D I think Ai notices that Risa cares about her. The question is what she thinks she needs to do about it. :) That... is another matter altogether.

Essy: You need to post more  comments. ^____^ Did you quote something I said to you in PM? Since they are officially separated now, then yeah... they kind of are just like friends... who happen to be sleeping with each other. XD Also, I think Ai just has very clear ideas of what constitutes a relationship. Also, what kind of relationships she needs... What do you think she actually feels when she "makes out" with Sayu? What's her motivation? ;)

As for Risa... well... she's just a normal girl. Unfortunately she's around many who do their best to not be normal, whether purposely, or not, or think they have no choice. :) "because god knows that as an idol, you get treated as an object often enough" -- That's another way to put their situation. :)

And Aika's thing. XD Maybe she didn't know at that point that she'd be able to not wear heels for the dance? :P That could be why she's so worried about it. ;)

rndm gurl: I think you're getting over your TakaGaki defense here, and back to reading things so well like you always do. :) I even teased Essy you saw more than her. :P That's all I'll say about that. XD Yes, Ai is an observant Leader...

kuro-kun: Do you think she'll really care to? ;) Maybe she'll begin to think it's becoming too much work, and not worth the effort... But then, what options does she have?

yellow: Welcome to the forum! :D I hope you enjoyed the contents of the email. :) As for the rest, we'll see~

Yay rndm! :D

Chapter 4

January flew by with hurried preparations for their new single, Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai, as well as the New Year’s Hello! Project concert tour. That wasn’t even to mention the album that was due after just another month.

February stole in like a fox, and it was in its first few days, during the week before the date their single was to be released, that Aika found herself sharing various yakitori with Reina at an izakaya in Roppongi. Despite not really caring for alcohol, Reina loved going to places like these since she turned 20 just for the fact that she could order it if she wished. Of course, even though she might have liked to, Aika never ordered any either.

“So whatcha think?” Reina asked as she tugged a bit of grilled skin off the stick she held to her teeth. “Fifty K?”

Aika sighed wistfully. “That’d be nice, wouldn’t it? Maybe I’d actually be able to get a raise.”

Reina barked a short, sarcastic laugh. “Ha. Fat chance of that happening, at least until some of us graduate.”

“Mou~” Aika replied, waving her yakitori stick at Reina. “You’re mean.”

“You’re the one who wants to hang out with me,” the girl replied, grinning.

“Ah, you’re more interesting than the others,” Aika said, picking at her chicken. That was true, but not in every sense…

“Well thank you,” Reina said, grinning still. “I try to be entertaining.”

“’Entertaining’ is something you definitely are,” Aika replied, giggling, and soon Reina joined her.

Aika spent much of the rest of the meal debating whether to tell her friend what she’d been keeping secret for a couple months now. Knowing the girl, it’d be helpful to talk to her about it, but still she was scared. They hadn’t told anyone yet about the full extent.

It had begun in late November. They had taken one last trip to Disneyland before the winter would steal in and make it too cold, even though many couples still went on Christmas. Aika smiled dreamily. She wondered if she’d be able to go there for Christmas sometime.

Despite her self-consciousness, Aika managed to split off from the rest of the group along with Sayumi. They had a fun time mostly going around playing games, but Aika couldn’t work up the courage to tell Sayu what she’d wanted to for so long… that she had a huge crush on her. She just didn’t think she’d be good enough for someone as pretty as Michishige-san, and especially with Koha-chan leaving soon... She knew the two of them shared a special relationship.

Feeling a bit bummed out by the time they met up with the rest of the group for lunchtime, she sat at a table to eat with JunJun and LinLin. “Hey…” she said to them over her grilled corn. “Can I ask you guys something?”

“Of course!” Lin said brightly. Jun kept on eating, but glanced over at Aika when she could as well.

“Well…” Aika said, feeling self-conscious again, “It’s about a girl…”

The others’ eyes widened. “Ooh,” Lin said. “Do you have a crush on someone!?”

“It’s not me, is it?” Jun mumbled through a mouthful of food.

“Ew,” Aika told her curtly, sticking her tongue out. “As if!”

Jun just shrugged and went back to her eating.

“Surely you two have dated, right?”

“Well…” Lin said, now blushing herself. Jun appeared to withdraw into thought.

“Oh, I’m sure you’ve dated people before,” Aika said hurriedly. “I mean… surely you’ve dated each other…?”

She didn’t think she could have shocked the two Chinese girls more had she dropped a bomb right in front of them.

“Each other?” Jun asked wonderingly, and turned to Lin. “Have I dated LinLin?”

“Of course not!” Lin said, furiously blushing. “We’re like sisters!”

“Never, in all the time you’ve been living together?” Aika asked, her hopes fading.

Jun shrugged, having seemed to recover from her initial surprise and now trying to refocus on her food. “Never really thought about it, I guess,” she replied.

This drew a sarcastically pouting glare from Lin though. “What, am I not cute enough for you to date?” Jun just blinked back at her.

“That’s… nice…” Aika said, deciding that she might as well just ask anyway. “But, say you were… oh, at an amusement park with the… person you liked. What would be a romantic thing to try and do together? Whenever I’m with her my brain seems to just… freeze.”

“Hmm…” Lin said, pondering. “Go on rides together. Many of them are pretty private. That way you can have some time alone.”

“The ferris wheel!” Jun burst out, drawing the others’ attention.

Lin nodded at the girl’s suggestion. “Yes, that’s good. It’s relaxing… and so kind of a romantic atmosphere. You’re not like screaming for your lives or anything." Then she looked back at Aika, a twinkle in her eye as she smiled. “So who is the special girl you want to get closer to?”

A bit later, having successfully evaded the questions of curious Chinese girls, Aika walked arm-in-arm with Sayu as they each sucked on lollipops they’d bought at a candy stand. Trying to be nonchalant, Aika pointed out the ferris wheel. “I bet we can get a great view of the park from up there!” she cried. “C’mon, will you go with me?”

“It’s just a ferris wheel,” Sayu replied, squinting at it. “Don’t you go on the ones in the city? There’s so much more to do here!”

“But this is Disneyland’s ferris wheel!” Aika replied. “Plus, I don’t always get to go with you, Michishige-san.”

“Aww, that’s so cute!” Sayu said, and leaned over to kiss Aika on the cheek.

Even though the touch left her cheek warm and tingly, Aika felt herself blush as she glanced around her. Being kissed by the girl was one thing, but out in public in the midst of all these people…! “…So you’ll go?” she asked in a rush.

“Sure!” Sayu replied, and took her arm as they walked toward the towering ride, licking their lollipops the whole way.

As their carriage began its rise to the top, Aika did her best to stop herself from fidgeting as she sat next to the pink and black onepiece-clad girl. For her part, Sayu played with a Mickey doll she had won at a game earlier in the day until they got high enough where they could enjoy the view.

It was quite a view of the fantastic Disney world around them, but Aika’s mind was on only a certain other view… of the girl who sat beside her. When they were almost at the top, they rocked to a slow stop. “Isn’t it pretty?!” Sayu asked, peering around.

“Mhm…” Aika replied, her mind elsewhere. Sayu was a little taken aback at the disinterest of her friend. Wasn’t she the one who wanted to come on this ride so badly in the first place? “How long do you think they’ll stop up here?” Aika asked.

“I don’t know,” Sayu replied, and peered down toward the ground. After suffering a momentary dizzy spell though, she pulled back. “It seems like someone’s arguing with the staff down there.” Sitting back, she sighed. “Isn’t this so romantic?”

Aika, hearing the Chinese girls’ words being echoed back at her, felt her eyes widen. “Yeah, it is,” she agreed, her fingers fumbling in her lap. “Um… Michishige-san?”

Sayu turned to stare at her, then burst out into a giggle. “Michishige-san? Since when have you called me that?”

Aika blushed furiously. “I… I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking. Um… I was thinking we could try something while we’re stuck up here.”

“Oh?” Sayu replied, sounding amused. She hoped the younger girl was talking about a game. She liked games. Especially those where she could display her cuteness.

“Yeah!” Aika said, feeling her confidence growing. “We could kiss!” Sayu’s eyes widened in surprise and her smile faded, but only slightly. Aika hurried to explain herself. “You know, like in the concerts. It’s like… practice? So we can make it look more natural and stuff.”

Sayu’s smile returned, and the older girl definitely looked amused now. “But Aika-chan, you know that’s something I do for show. Don’t you? Wouldn’t it feel strange to do it here?”

“But you do it with Takahashi-san, don’t you?” Aika blabbered before she could help herself. Afterward, she clamped her mouth shut tightly.

Sayu grinned. “Now I wonder where you heard that from? You’re really becoming pretty naughty, aren’t you? I think you’ve been spending too much time around Reina-chan lately.”

“Tanaka-san is fun to be around!” Aika replied happily. “We’ve found we actually share a lot of things in common. There are a few girls from other groups that have started hanging out with us to. It’s like… we have our own little gang. But, Sayu… are you saying you don’t—”

“I never said anything like that,” Sayu replied, giggling. “But Leader is Leader. She gets special treatment.”

“Oh…” Aika replied, feeling disappointed. “Still, I don’t have as easy a time kissing the others as you do. I can’t even imagine Takahashi-san. That’s why I wanted to…” And then, feeling supremely daring and also a little desperate at this point, she leaned quickly over and pecked the older girl on the lips.

Sayu’s eyes widened, but then she just fell into giggling. “Why Aika-chan,” she said jokingly, “If you’re that brave, I don’t see why you’d have problems with the others.” Then, still giggling, she leaned over herself and pecked at Aika’s own lips.

They continued this giggling exchange a few more times, pretty much as Aika suggested. But then, this wasn’t really what Aika had wanted. Feeling more confident as it went on in the confines of the ferris wheel carriage, the next time her kiss was expected, instead of just leaning over to the girl’s face maybe with a little poke to her side as well, she crawled up into her lap, hands on the other’s shoulders as she looked down into her eyes. Slowly she let her knees fall to each side of Sayu’s own as well, resulting in her straddling the older girl’s waist.

Sayu definitely appeared surprised, but didn’t make any move to push Aika away. Taking the opportunity, Aika lowered her face to the other’s and pressed their lips together. This time though, she held it for much longer. When she finally pulled back, she looked frightfully into Sayu’s face.

“That didn’t seem like just playful practice…” Sayu said softly, her rounded lips framing her words perfectly to Aika’s eyes.

Aika swallowed, prepared to roll off her senpai and resume her spot next to her, but instead she felt Sayu’s hands at her sides. “I’m surprised,” Sayu said in response to the question in Aika’s eyes, “But… why?”

“Michishige-san…” Aika said, her eyes still on the other’s lips. “I… like you.” She saw the lips turn up into a smile then, and looked back up to her eyes just before the girl pulled her closer. This kiss was again long, but it was different. After a moment, as they held each other close and their lips moved together, Aika realized she was really making out with her senpai. Then she felt the girl’s tongue slip gently but fervently between her lips.

When they’d finally parted, Aika couldn’t meet the other’s eyes in the deep flush of what they’d just done, and of amazement. “Michishige-san…” she said breathily, “I’ve wanted to tell you that for a while now, but… but…”

She stopped trying to think of more words as a long-nailed finger pressed lightly to her lips. “That’s wrong,” Sayu replied, and Aika’s fright began to return. “If I’m going to be your girlfriend, you can’t be calling me ‘Michishige-san’…”

Finally Aika’s attention returned back to the meal she shared with Reina, who was now looking at her suspiciously over her orange juice. “Is something bothering you?” the yankii asked.

Aika blinked, then hurriedly took a sip of her own soda. “I was just… Reina, what do you think’s going on with Takahashi-san and Gaki-san? It seemed like they were at each other’s throats for weeks after Koha-chan’s graduation. But then last month they suddenly just seemed to stop talking to each other at all. Gaki-san even chopped off her hair!”

Reina smiled faintly, running a finger around the inside rim of her glass. “Relationships can be funny sometimes. That’s why I don’t tend to bother with them.”

“But they’re not dating anymore, are they?” Aika mused herself. For some reason Reina’s smile widened, but the girl stayed silent. “And anyway, you and Sayumin were together for quite a while…”

“Well that was different,” Reina said, straightening from lounging in her seat as her smile faded a bit. Aika watched her solemnly. Nobody else likely knew, but one day Sayu had told her why she and Reina had eventually drifted apart.

“You knew Sayumin pretty well, didn’t you?” Aika asked, and Reina stared back into her face, her eyes narrowing as she mulled over her question.

“Yeah,” Reina said, in her deep Fukuokan accent. “We liked each other for a while, so we’d gotten pretty close.” She now stared even more suspiciously at Aika, and whether the girl knew it or not, rightly so. Well, she wouldn’t have to wait for long.

“Could… could you tell me a bit about what she likes?” Aika asked, her heart beating quickly. Since that day at Disneyland, they’d taken the opportunity to make out almost every time she and Sayu had been able to be alone. She loved it, and loved that Sayu treated her and thought of her as her girlfriend, but they’d decided to keep it secret from the others for the time being. They felt it might seem insensitive so soon after Koharu left, as the news would surely eventually get back to her. Plus, it wasn’t like they got all that much time alone anyway as busy as they had been.

She also got the sense that the girl was worried about what the others would think of her dating someone as young as herself, although personally Aika thought three years wasn’t that big a deal. Then again, she’d had that fear for a long time. It was part of why it took her so long to confess. So perhaps it wasn’t true and just left over from that old fear.

Still… without the others knowing, it somehow didn’t feel “official” that they were dating. She wondered if that was finally about to change. However, the response wasn’t quite what she’d expected.

Reina’s eyes widened, her hand freezing above her glass. “Oh my god,” she burst out, and Aika blushed. “You’re banging Sayu, aren’t you?” The blush disappeared, and in its place complete shock. Reina coughed a laugh. “You might want to pick your jaw up off the floor there, Aika…”

“No!” Aika cried out vehemently, and Reina even seemed taken aback by the strength of her denial. “I mean. No! I am not… I am not… doing that to her!”

“Oh,” Reina replied, seeming disappointed. But then she squinted her eyes. “Seriously? I could have…”

“I am not banging her!!!” Aika protested, too loudly this time she realized, and her face glowed red at the looks she felt from some of the people around her. “We’re just… together!” she hissed between her teeth. “Like, dating.”

Reina continued staring blankly at her, but then burst out into laughter. Aika hugged herself tightly, refusing to see if the people around them were staring at them again. “Dating, huh?” the older girl asked, picking up her orange juice to take a big swig as if it were a pint of grog. “And how long has this been going on?” The suspicion was back in her voice.

“Um…” Aika replied, “It’s been two or three months.”

“That long, huh?” Reina asked, picking up another piece of yakitori to tear into. “And you’re still not having sex? She must be holding herself back pretty well then…”

Aika blushed again, though felt her curiosity pique as well. “You… you think that would be a problem for her? Would she not… be satisfied if I’m not… having sex with her?”

Reina stared at her another moment, before breaking out into laughter again. Aika’s eyes widened. The girl was seriously going to kill her. Still, she was her best friend now…

“I’m just messin’ with ya,” Reina said finally, reaching over to pat at Aika’s arm. Aika felt a bit of relief, even if it was very cautious.

“Of course,” Aika said, trying to pull herself together. “Of course you two would have slept together…”

After she spoke this time though, Reina suddenly became serious. “Sayumin was an innocent girl, you hear?” Aika took careful note of the girl’s use of the past tense. “Fuck, she still is. She’ll be careful with you. I think she will. She obviously hasn’t mentioned it yet, has she?” Aika shook her head. “Don’t do it… until you’re ready.”

“Did you sleep with her before she was ready?” Aika asked, her throat tight with the question.

Reina just stared off into space a moment, and Aika let her. Eventually she came back to herself though, and slouched back into her chair. Picking up another yakitori stick, she said curtly, “That’s none of your business.”

Aika smiled inside. This is why she was friends with the fiery yankii.

“You were asking about what she likes?” Reina asked, eyeing her as she nibbled on the chicken. It looked like liver this time.

“U-un…” Aika nodded, though her mind was still coming to grasp with the conversation up to this point.

“She likes frilly stuff. Pink stuff. Cute stuff. But you know that already.” She sat back, tossing the empty stick back onto the plate. “That’s not just for show, ya know,” she said, musing to herself and staring into space seemingly just above Aika’s shoulder again. “She’s a smart girl, of course.” Aika nodded. That’s something else she already knew. “Frilly… pink… cute… It’s romance that she likes. She wants her prince to gallop to her side and pull her up behind him on his white horse.” Her eyes found Aika’s again, and she grinned as if imagining something funny.

“Well I’m not much of a prince…” Aika said doubtfully, but Reina brushed the comment away with a wave of her hand.

“Don’t say that,” the girl said. “She doesn’t want a real prince, obviously. You know she likes girls.” She grinned again. “And if I may say so, after dating me for a year I’d be surprised if she ever cares to look at a guy again.”

Aika gave a short laugh of her own at that. Reina and her narcissistic humor… Although, she didn’t really want to think too much about what the girl actually meant. “Well, all I’m concerned about is that she’s looking only at me,” she said modestly in contrast.

Reina hunched over in her chair, studying Aika closely over the table while drumming her fingers on the solid wood. “Well…” she said finally. “Who knows what she actually sees in you… I mean, you’re nowhere near as cool as me, for one.”

“Hey!” Aika exclaimed, and crossed her arms, pouting at the girl studying her.

Reina gave her toothy grin in return. “But you might do for a prince.” She sat back again. “Yeah… I think you’ll do.”

“You said she likes romance, right?” Aika asked, trying to get back on subject. “Like… what kinds of things? What did you find she liked best?”

“Burgundy silk sheets,” Reina said immediately. “A rose on the pillow. Perfume, incense you can waft from the air. You could also get her one of those frilly and lacy transparent black babydolls. She likes black better than pink when it comes to—”

“Not stuff like that!!!” Aika interrupted, mortified.

Reina grinned back at her, clearly having fun torturing her. “Ah, I’m just playin with ya again. Remember that stuff when you get to that point though. But of course you aren’t there now. Let’s see… Ya know, I can’t really think of something I did for her that didn’t involve sex…”

Aika felt her fingers tighten on the hem of her t-shirt as she tried to keep from blushing any more. She was starting to think going to the girl about this hadn’t been a good idea at all.

Suddenly Reina turned serious. “You know that’s not true, right?”

Aika kept staring tightly into her face. “I do? Why am I supposed to think otherwise?”

Reina sighed. “Yeah. I guess you guys have reason to believe I can’t think about anything other than sex. That’s not true though,” she said earnestly. Aika studied her, wondering who the girl was trying to convince. “We wouldn’t have lasted a year had it been like that. Like I said, she likes the frills, the romance.”

“And do you have anything useful to tell me about that?”

Then Reina smiled, but it was a much different smile than what she’d been giving her so far. Jumping up from her chair, she picked up the check and gestured to Aika. “Come on. Let’s take a walk, and I’ll tell you all about our dear bunny.”

Omg Aika and Sayu! For some reason I find this pairing really easy to accept.

Sneaky you, updating while I was asleep. :P But I'll forgive you.

The Reika friendship is awesome btw. Reina is obviously more sensitive than she lets on, otherwise, as she mentioned herself, she wouldn't have lasted for as long as a year with Sayu. XD I really like your Reina here btw. She's yankii, but not that yankii, and she has interesting layers. She's just being very...Reina here. XD There's no other word for it.

And excuse the crappy comment since I just woke up with a headache and have yet to eat anything. I just absolutely had to read this update first. :P

Aika Sayu? Saika? Aiyu? Mitsushige? I'm just amusing myself now.  XD So, Aika was in like with the bunny, that's definitely an interesting pairing, but for some reason, it kinda works. I think I'm more surprised by that than the actual couple.

I find it so cute that Aika went to the other Hachikies for advice because she thought they were together. Are they still living together in your story or not? Either way, I wonder if the puppy's innocent comment might spark a little something between the pandas? I think they're the only ones who haven't been with other girls.

“Surely you two have dated, right?”

“Well…” Lin said, now blushing herself. Jun appeared to withdraw into thought.
Or have they?

Saika(why do I want to keep typing saikU?) date was cute as well. Lol at sneaky Aika, trying to trick her way into a kiss.

There are a few girls from other groups that have started hanging out with us to. It’s like… we have our own little gang.
  XD Tanaka Army! XD

“I never said anything like that,” Sayu replied, giggling. “But Leader is Leader. She gets special treatment.”
Does she give all leaders special treatment?

Quote

At first, it sounds as though she'd never thought of Aika that way before. If that was the case, why kiss her then? Why not just agree but suggest to being her girlfriend? You know, if I read it again and squint and tilt my head, I can almost believe that maybe Sayu was surprised that she felt the same way. Almost. Is she just giving her what she wants?(Like how I thought that Ai was just giving Sayu what she wanted when they had their make-out session.)

Quote
Reina, what do you think’s going on with Takahashi-san and Gaki-san? It seemed like they were at each other’s throats for weeks after Koha-chan’s graduation. But then last month they suddenly just seemed to stop talking to each other at all. Gaki-san even chopped off her hair!”

Not speaking? Hmm, now why could that be? *sarcasm sarcasm* And your take on Risa's haircut (which was sexy, at first, then fan dabi dozi, and is now back to sexy) is to somehow get back at Ai? Or at least show her displeasure. Is that the real reason or coincidence?

Quote
“Well that was different,” Reina said, straightening from lounging in her seat as her smile faded a bit. Aika watched her solemnly. Nobody else likely knew, but one day Sayu had told her why she and Reina had eventually drifted apart.
Hmm, looks like maybe the yankii misses her a bit. Or maybe she just regrets the break itself?

She's great for giving advice to Aika, though, despite any lingering feelings(or non feelings) she might have for the bunny. I kinda like to think she wants to train the puppy to take care of Sayu while she can't.

...
...
...

I just realized how similar Aika and Reina are. Both cute, little yankis, taken by the bunny. Maybe Sayu doesn't see Aika for Aika. Maybe Sayu sees Aika for how Reina used to be?

Or maybe I'm just making a mountain out of a molehill, but I still find it suspicious how easily Sayu accepted Aika and her feelings.

Quote

Um... Somehow, I believe that sex was a very big part of their relationship, though I also believe Reina took care of Sayu like a princess. Did it get old? Always being the prince? All the "frills and romance"? Or was it something completely different?

Really, this review isn't all that long.... Ahah, :sweatdrop: it's just all the quotes. I wedged just before I had to leave for work and I was out of the house almost all day yesterday, so I didn't have time to comment on anything, so consider this a bit of a make-up for that.  :D :D  :D :D
