Okay, so I finally caught up on all two episodes of this show.

Opinion time!
We all hyped this up pretty hardcore ever since it was announce in early December mainly due to the awesome visuals, but in the back of my head I was always worried about how the show would be as a whole when it finally came. I'm glad to say my worries have been put to rest for the most part. First up, the first thing we knew of: the visuals. They do not disappoint. All of the girls look incredible. They are the hottest group of bitchy yankii girls I've ever seen.

The acting kinda varies a bit. Sasshi pulls off her part terrifyingly well, and I love it while being a little scared.

Meanwhile, Rie just looks a psychotic off of her happy pills.

Akicha also gives a good performance, and I'm hoping Team Rappappa will get a chance to shine a little more soon. They pulled off good stares and the few lines they had seemed natural in this insane universe. Nachu is actually very good in her part, and I like Acchan in her role too. As for the plot and story, it's hard to explain how I feel on it. Overall: I love how it's executed. Yes, this show isn't really technically
great, but it is refreshing that this show actively parodies what it is, such as when Team Hormone is explaining to Nachu the groups of the school then wonder why they are even speaking to Nachu less than 24 hours after their ass kicking, and when Mocchi is giving a crazy long explanation of Kasai's fighting style. While the overall tone of the drama is serious, it doesn't take itself
seriously. This, I think, saves it for me as far as plot, setting, and execution go. The music is very cheap sounding and blatant ripoffs of some rock and rap songs, but it fits the mood. The world itself is insane. It feels like something that would be plausible in John Carpenter's "Escape from.." movies.

The biggest shock to me was how well the choreography is done. They use a lot of close-ups and camera tricks to make it seem more hardcore than it is, but it really is well done regardless. I've watched several "legit" police and other drama involving some action/fight moments, and for the most part they were pulled off with a comic book, amatuer-ish feel to them. This was quite impressive. I can see why Acchan got injured in the training for it. Nice job, girls!

Overall opinion so far: This drama is fucking awesome. I'm curious to see where the plot goes.
MAJI DA YO!
