My roommate gets all tense when they throw the rock, then he yells something along the lines of right right left left scrub or sumthing like that, then total silence, the rock hits another rock with a 'ding' sound, then he gets nuts if its a good shot or all emo if its a bad one

Shizuka Arakawa got gold in the women's figure skating, Sasha Cohen the silver, and Irina Slutskaya the bronze. Sasha had a slim lead after the short program and just didn't do that well. By the time she recovered, it was too late. The points for 1st was 191.34 and 2nd is 183.36.

Cohen got hurt on Wenesday. I knew she wouldn't win the gold in that condition, but I'm happy she got silver! She fought through her program well and after the first 2 falls, she did amazing and never gave up, but the highlight is Shizuka Arakawa's Gold Medal performance. Two triples turned into doubles, but she had a clean performance and the triple-triple combination wasn't that necessary after Cohen's falls.
Emily Hughes gets too much media for her skill level.
Remember JB! I predicted that Slutskaya fall! None of my picks got gold though, haha

I want more Halie Kim goodness!

Screw Emily Hughes. Her older sister Sarah needs to come back and skate again.

Cohen is so cute. Congrats for her silver medal.

Curling needs to get bigger so I can make a curling thread. Congrats to the Sweden Women's Curling team last night for winning gold.

Sarah is a fatty. She goes to college now, she won't win another Worlds, much less an Olympic medal.

2010 Kimmie Meissner (or Sasha Cohen if she goes back)! Maybe Miki Ando if she can get her spirals down, or some new Japanese chicka. Who knows what new machine the Russians will pump out.

Thats 20 medals for Canada and about 80% of the medals were won by girls. That lady speed skater from Canada won 4 of them. I think she will hold the flag for the closing ceremonies.

Look closely at the closing ceremony for Vancouver's mayor. He is on a wheelchair and going to wave the large Olympic flag. The mayor was afraid that the wind might blow him over.

That's Cindy Klassen. She has a chance at a potential 5th medal when she skates in the next distance (3000m or 5000m, can't remember which). And guess what, SHE'S FROM 'PEG SHEETY!!!!! :woot:

It'd be interesting to see how well she'd do under the new scoring system. But yeah, she's in school now. I've sometimes seen her on TV skating in some professional shows.
