Mmm don't know then.  WMP's burning process is pretty straight forward.  These are Mp3 files you're burning right?

Can you upload that zip file to sendspace or something so I can give it a try myself?

You don't burn from a zip file.  Extract the files from the zip file, then forget about zip files and burn from the mp3's you extracted.

Does the burnt CD play on your pc like a normal audio CD?
Can you explore the burnt CD on your pc, and tell us what type of files are listed... zip, rar, mp3, cda?

The .zip file shouldn't be a problem.
If you double click the .zip file, you will be able to extract all the files to a new folder.. Then you can use those files, and forget about the .zip.

A .zip file is generally 1 file that contains more files. It's the files inside that you want to use.

Took some screen shots to show you.. (mine's a .rar, but it's the same thing)

.rar file (.zip is the same)

Right click will give you options. Just choose "Extract Here"

Whatever was in the .zip will now be out.. In my case, a folder.

In the folder is the audio files

Yeah maybe.. Have you burnt audio CDs in the past that have worked? If yes, then you should be fine..

Dude, no offense, but it's really hard to help you because you are not clear enough on the problems.. Take some screen shots, list the steps you take.. The more detail you give, the more we will understand what the problem is.

Screen shots are very easy, and would help a lot to "show" your problem.
To take a screen shot :
1. Press the "PrtSc" (Print Screen) key on the keyboard.
2. Open a graphics program.. Microsoft Paint will work.
3. Click "edit", then "paste".
4. Save the picture file.

1. download the zip file [or rar or other archive type]
2. unzip the file
3. you'll now have a folder full of mp3's
4. delete the zip file and forget about it because you now have a folder full of mp3's instead
5. do stuff with the mp3's

Audio CD's are wav, but most cd burning software can burn an audio cd from mp3's "on the fly".  That means the software automatically converts the mp3 to wav while it burns. In the past I've had problems with mono mp3's.  My burning software was happily burning a cd from mp3's, it got to the mono mp3 and then gave an error.  Another problem you might have is if the mp3's aren't 44,100khz but something else like 48000.  Audio cd's have to be 44,100.  I doubt cd burning software would even let you burn a cd that's the wrong khz but it's just a thought.

My simple gues: cool_kickin_dude is burning it as data-CD and not as Audio-CD.

Plain old CD-Players only accept Audio-CD's.

More tech related trouble here too. I'm having massive problems with just starting the pc. It took me over an hour today!

If I press the 'on' button, nothing happens. It keeps flashing orange. Sometime it'll start after I press it again and sometimes it won't start after 15 minutes.. any ideas?

To solve most computer hardware problems you'll need to be able to swap out parts until you find the cause of the problem. I'm not sure if you have any spare parts you can do this with though but basically I'd start with a different powersupply, then ram (cause it's pretty easy to put in and out) then videocard.
If it's still no good after that, you might have a faulty motherboard (this is actually what I think you may have), try taking it out of the case completely and testing it with just the bare essentials plugged in.

But yeah you need to have spare parts you can test with to be sure what is wrong.

^oh man, that sounds serious.  :O Thanks for the advice.

Better call in the professionals for this one, because there's no way I can swap out these parts myself.  :-\

edit: uch, it doesn't even go on stand-by anymore..
