How can I tell if my FTP programs (FileZilla and WS_FTP Professional) have a firewall up?

I can't seem to connect to my host even though all the log-in details are correct.

They themselves do not have a firewall, something between you and them and your target can be a firewall.
Some firewalls require PASV (passive) mode, some require socks, some require authentication (e.g. a firewall  client like with ISA server)

Normally you get to see a message that something fails (or simple try passive or not)

I just can't figure out what's wrong. daigong gave me some server space to use, but I can't even connect to that too, I thought it was just the other host.

This is the error I keep getting

I assume that's Vista you're working with from the x86 directory. Try opening up wordpad or whatever you are using to edit it as Administrator through the right click menu.

I tried from a machine here, using XP's ftp and reviera.dreamhost.com works for me, I get a normal response to login.
I think you need to find out what is between you and that machine.

The XP ftp?

Click Start; Click 'Run...'; type 'cmd'; press [enter]
This will start a command line window.
Now you can type 'ftp <name of ftpserver>', then follow the prompts (for username and password)

How do I also find out what's blocking me from the hosts I can't connect to?

I just bought a VisionTek ATI Radeon HD 4670 PCI Express Graphics Card, but only later do I found out on the internet that this product tends to overheat.  Now does anyone knows how do I go to prevent that?  I'm asking like how to set the settings either from the ATI Catalyst Center or BIOS?

Try turning of 'friendly error messages'? unless they simply disconnect you, then there is nothing to display.

(screen print from what you see might help further)

Although this is game related, but this is also tech related? I guess...

Anyway does anyone know how to use Pokesav? I tried to use it to create legit Wonder Cards and Mystery Gift via this site http://www.projectpokemon.org/ but it seems not working...

If anyone knows how to do it, please help me. Thanks!

^ Click the little arrow near your ABP icon and go to Preferences. Everything you have added should be under Advertisement Filters. Delete whichever entries are giving you trouble. That should do it. Here's a picture of what you should be looking for. I put some custom things in there.

Oh, and if you'd hidden the the ABP icon, you can get there by going to Tools menu > Add Ons. Select ABP and hit preferences.

Does anyone know how to save pictures from a page using Adobe Flash Player (I think?) to cycle through pics? I want to save the pics at two pages, but I can't just control-click>Save Image As... There's no real nudity, just implied nudity by one chick, but it's at Playboy's site so I linked it here in the Playboy thread just in case.

Using the "Print Screen" key, an image of the entire computer screen is placed in clipboard. Then you can paste it into a new image using an image editor (e.g. IrfanView). Finally crop and save.

In case you are wondering how I grabbed those, it was quite easy..
The Mariqueen ones were saved as .jpgs in Internet Explorer's "Temporary Internet Folder", so just had to open them up and "save as.."
The Maria ones were saved as .swf files, so went to use a program called "SWF Extractor", but the files came back as "invalid".. Wasn't sure what to do, but tried just renaming them to .jpg to see what would happen, and sure enough, that worked..  8)

Thanks. I'm using OS X right now and it's a pain to do a similar thing in there. The equivalent to the Temp files is a cache of the files without the names of the original files on the sites. To find what you want, you have to go through every file to see if it's the right one. If I need to do that in the future, I'll do it on my PC.

I get this message constantly when trying to watch videos on youtube:

An error occurred, please try again later.

I've read that refreshing the page would help, but it doesn't. Is it just me? Other people can view the same video, but I can't.
