The following 2 albums are technically no Shibuya-kei but more the forerunners and influence of this style of music.
The arrangements are great and of the quality expected by Japanese artists and producers.
The first album is late 60's beat music and the second one is late 60's jazz music.
Really recommendable albums compiled by Comoesta Yaegashi.

Edit: I was told that the first song of Good Night Tokyo was corrupt in the zip file, I hope the replacement of this album solves it.

So, what are the best Pizzicato Five releases? They have so many albums that I'm not sure if I wanna go thru all of them.

I haven't had time to download most of the albums that have been shared but I did grab 'The Sound of Tokyo'. Some tracks are a bit weird (like song #5) but overall it's a tight compilation album

I'm also diggin' both 'Good Night Tokyo' & 'Midnight Tokyo' because they remind me of 70's Pinky Violence movie music. I can easily picture Meiko Kaji and her Stray Cat Rock posse getting jiggy to them 'Good Night Tokyo' tunes

That is hard to say Masa, most contain good songs and less good songs, I suggest you get them all and glance through them before making your mind up. Besides it's hard to define other people's taste, you probably like other songs than I do.

Wonderboy, I found the problem with the Fantastic Plastic Machine - Fantastic Plastic Machine.

It is the original, a skipping CD is the culprit, I have to look for a replacement.

Meanwhile I will take off the post so that it won't confuse people, I think we also better take off our posts talking about this problem.

When I found a replacement I will put it up again.

Edit: I did found a replacement, the next post is that replacement.
