In Japan, showing up for group/company social events is, kind of, a duty. You're just expected to be there.

Showing your commitment to 'the group' is an important part of Japanese culture.

Being 'aloof' really isn't an option.

I've seen Jessi on Kaho's program - but, I suppose, that's a work thing.

I guess the other members just accepted it, though they say that it was brought up on the show. I vaguely remember it, but I don't even remember what segment or season that might have been.

With the muscats, I suppose she went to the events she was obligated to go to and passed on the rest.

he composition of the group is pretty wacky - along with the normal young ‘idol’ types, there’s a girl from Germany, a 30-year-old who owes ¥100 million, an accomplished dancer who Okubo and co. are constantly calling fat and ugly (her nickname is ‘Suubuu’ - which is ‘busu’ (ugly) in reverse), and a 22-year old with two kids. You get the impression that the whole thing is just a huge joke - their manager is a dude in a luchador mask, after all.

Wow, a 100 million JPY debt. That's a lot of money for sure. I kinda feel bad for her and also for the 22 year old with two sons. I guess she is single (or divorced). I don't think this show will be as funny as Onedari Muscat but I'll try to watch it in my spare time. That Luchador like manager seems to be funny.

• Jessi admires Airi’s beautiful voice. And her boobs. She says they could serve as a model for how perfect breasts should look. It’s not the first time we’ve heard that. I really should try locating some of her gravure work. For research purposes, of course

I went to Akihabara today and was able to get a ticket for Jessica's Ero Cute release event tomorrow
It is at a place called Asobit City.
I found out at Akihabara that Rin is also having an event at Akihabara tomorrow, but I didn't get a ticket for it since it is only one hour apart from Jessica's event, which is really a shame
I am so excited and nervous right now, not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Hate to bring the topic down, but someone pointed out that Rin Sakuragi has some pretty noticeable cut marks on her right arm



I know there was a time when she was out of the AV game due to an 'illness', but as far as I know, it was never reported on what it was. I hope it wasn't a cover and that those marks aren't what I think they mean. Would hate to think it happened during her Purukawa era. But everyone has their secrets and the AV industry isn't all casual, happy go lucky sex and can be pretty exploitative. Whatever happened, I hope Rin has gone past it and is at a better state of health to deal with her troubles now.

This is slightly off topic. I was reading an essay by an American writer (David Foster Wallace). He was writing about the US porn business in the late '90s. He wrote that every year about a dozen male porn stars attempt 'auto-castration'...they try to, or succeed in, cutting off their own dick!  We joke about what a great job it would be, but there's gotta be a down-side.

It ain't all 'lollipops and rainbows'; you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work that out.

In the meantime, if you like try to visit one of those "maidreamin cafes" in Akihabara (there is one located near the Asobit City). There are awkwards but funny places. A little warning: the prices are waaay more expensive than a normal restaurant...

Here is my experience from Jessica's event

I got to Asobit City about 20 minutes prior to the start of the event and soon after a staff person came out and asked us to lineup in front of the store. When it was time for the event; the staff person led us to the event space in the basement where chairs were already setup and we all took a seat. There were around 30 people at the event including one female. I thought there would be more people.

The event started by the MC (I think he is a warai genin) introducing Jessica and there was a round of applause when Jessica entered. Then the MC and Jessica talked for about 15 minutes and the following are what I could catch.
- There is a cooking corner in Ero Cute 4, so Jessica was asked if she cooks at home? She says yes and she said she rarely eats meat at home and if she does, she will only eat chicken.
- she really enjoys eating fish and wishes to learn how to dissect a fish at Tsukiji fish market
- before she debuted, there were a lot of food that she won't eat, but she says she is much better now because Aino eats pretty much everything and would always ask her to try something different.
- There will be a collaboration event between Ideapocket and Japanese professional wrestling next week. Jessica says she watches wrestling from time to time and thinks it is exciting.

After the introduction talks, there was time for photo; one minute per two people. I could only take about 10 pictures with my camera, which is pretty old; there were people with really expensive looking SLR camera that could probably take hundreds of pictures. She mentioned that she is not good at posing for pictures and joked about attending other idol's event to learn new poses. After photo time, some fans put on a surprise celebration for her 6 year anniversary by presenting her with cake and flowers. Jessica thanked all the fans for supporting her over the years.

Then people who only bought one DVD got to shake her hand and chat for a few seconds while people who bought two DVD's got an autograph from her and can also take a picture together with her. I bought two DVD's, therefore I got her to autograph on her picture in my Muscats graduation album and took a picture together with her. During autograph time, I got to talk to her for like a minute or two. She was surprised to find out where I am from and thanked me for coming to see her. There were some people that talked to her for like 5 minutes and Jessica seemed to know all of them, I guess they are her biggest fans.

At the end of the event she thanked everyone for coming and mentioned that there could be some kind of special event coming in December. The event lasted for about 2 hours and it was great to see her, she really is very beautiful.
